Hello guys! I am Maximus Potatus, and this is my Udyr guide. If you're stuck in the lower parts of the League of Legends ladder and you're looking for a champion that has the potential of carrying the game (on his own), this is the champion for you. In this guide I will be presenting gameplay that could be called "The Lone Wolf Style". Please take in mind that this is currently a WIP guide (work in progress) so things here are not in their final form. I will be very happy for all the constructive criticism, and any feedback. This is my first guide, and I am trying to get better. Thanks for helping me!
TL;DR: I am awesome, give me upvotes! xD
My playstyle revolves around Farming early on and getting the Devourer Enchantment. With this done, you can later be very tanky, and still dish out incredible amounts of sustained damage. Later on, I splitpush/backdoor enemy SIDELANES and try to get down the INHIBITOR TURRET. After that being done, sneak up on the inhibitors to put enemies in pressure, and use this pressure to get other objectives and catch people out, simply get ahead. Remember, it IS worth to trade inhibitor towers, because you can backdoor them anytime. The enemy team may not have the same advantage.
This is a very good spell for Udyr, it enables him to walk through minions and champions. That is useful when you're chasing someone down the lane. The minions simply dont get in your way. And the main part of this is the speed buff. This makes Udyr even more uncatchable if some jukes are included. I take this spell 80% of games played with Udyr.
If you're not comfortable with ghost, or there are some spells on the enemy team you just need to dodge like Crescendo or Dark Binding this spell might be what you're looking for. Not a personal preference.
This spell is perfect if you think you will be farming all game. It is great for teleporting to fights while splitpushing and vice versa. You can also be farming, go buy yourself Ranger's Tailbrazer-Devourer and be back in jungle in a few seconds! Situational personal preference.
You're jungle. Dont even think about not taking this spell. You would be a shame to humanity.
Greater Seal of Scaling Health can be replaced with Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction can be replaced with Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Mark of Attack Speed and Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed should not be replaced with anything, since udyr does not need attack damage or any kind of penetration. This build revolves around attack speed.
If you have any questions, or something that I missed, feel free to let me know. I will be happy with any feedback!
When You're very ahead, you can buy this item for more damage, mobility and cooldown reduction. I also reccomend buying this item instead of Mercury's Threads If you get to that stage of the game. It gives you Tenacity, more speed overall, and damage. (You lose out on magic resist only)
Many people consider buying this item. It's simply not good enough. Trinity force ,altough being much more expensive, is much more viable on Udyr. Not my personal preference. I would never get this item.
Perfect item for Udyr. It grants you every stat you need apart from crit chance. With Phage passive and Sheen passive, Udyr becomes a massive fighter. Very good Allaround item. It is a must have
Ranger's Tailblazer Since is not very Udyr's item type, and with this gameplay guide is about farming, Ranger's Tailblazer is really the one and only and the best choice for Udyr. Get Devourer. Rush this item. Must have.
20% CDR, 100 Armor,500 mana. A very good passive for dueling and teamfighting. All this for a relatively low price. What were you saying?
Very good tank item for Udyr because of the beef this item provides. Must have
A powerful midgame item that provides tankiness and aoe damage.
Sell for Randuins later.
Situational item. If the enemy team has , , or enemy team has 3 or more autoattackers, You should heavily consider buying this item over
Get this instead of Sunfire/Randuins in case of heavy ap on the enemy team. Also consider buying this item and being in all the teamfights if you're falling behind really hard and need to be at least somewhat useful to your team.
Get this instead of if you're ahead and want to finish the game off fast. Pretty useful for udyr, but does not provide health :(.
I've seen some people wiht this item. I don't like it very much. It is, however, a very good synergy with Devourer. Get this in case of heavy AP.
Get this if You find yourself in need of more health and mana. Passive is very useful if you are missing engage in youre team composition. Use the passive, and charge for one of the enemy team's carries.
If you find yourself behind, and think the only way you're going to win the game is by splitpushing, applying pressure all around the map, and backdooring the enemy towers, this is an item to consider. Use it to increase pressure in lanes, and make your enemies leave their group, or teleport to theirbase to kill it before it becomes too effective. Use this time to get objectives like Dragon, Baron, or other towers. Or simply catch the confused enemy team in a 5v4 teamfight, where there is a much higher chance to succeed than in a normal 5v5. This is a very effective strategy in lower elos, and soloQ, because the teams are not so coordinated.
TL;DR: When behind, use this to create pressure to make a window for plays.
