Introduction ♥

Welcome, fellow Summoner!



Hi guys. My name is Trixi. I am currently a Bronze 1 player, since i dropped out of silver, for not playing for a long period of time (i was on vacation for a month , lol) and in this guide, i am going to teach you the basics of Jayce, and advanced tactics, to secure dominance, and control overall in the progressing game. ♥


Jayce excels good, at holding control in lane, and being ready for every situation he gets in, AND he is one of the champion with the strongest poke in the game, since he can go to ranged form, and just keep basic attacking the enemy until they are low enough, to make him go all in, and kill the victim. Jayce is an AD Bruiser, who primarily should be used, as a top laner, but he can be used in the mid lane etc. since he shines everywhere! ♥





Jayce's Q ( Shock Blast), E ( Acceleration Gate) combo is ridiculously strong early, and late, which makes him a strong top laner, in every parts of the game, he uses mana, but you have to be careful with the mana usage, since you gonna switch stances and use multiple abilities simultaneously. His E ( Acceleration Gate) is basically a free movement speed buff for your team, in some occasions. Jayce is surprisingly good, against the though top champions like Garen.

Notes on the Jayce nerfs/buffs ;(

General


+ HP/5 reduced to 5 from 7

+ HP/5 per Level reduced to 0.5 from 0.7

+ MP/5 increased to 10 from 7

+ MP/5 per level increased to 1.0 from 0.7

+ Jayce may no longer level Transform but his abilities have 6 ranks.



+ Hextech Capacitor Now additionally grants 5 to 130 magic damage for the first attack after transformation, based on character level. (Stolen from his ulti)]


+ To The Skies! Mana Cost fixed at 30 at all ranks from 40/50/60/70/80

+ To The Skies! Damage rescaled to 25/75/125/175/225/275 (+0.6 Bonus) physical damage from 20/65/110/155/200 (+1.0 Bonus) physical damage


Static Field Melee W


+ Static Field Passive mana gain on-hit removed. (I HATE THIS!!!!!!) This has ruined his early game.

+ Static Field Damage rescaled to 60/110/160/210/260/310 (+1) from 100/170/240/310/380 (+1)

+ Basic Attacks during static field now deal an additional 10/15/20/25/30/35 (+0.2) magic damage on hit. Numbers even more highly experimental and subject to change on this one. * Cooldown rescaled to 13/12/11/10/9/8 from 10



+Mana cost fixed at 85 from 40/50/60/70/80

+Now has a rank 6 that deals 23% health damage and up to 700 magic damage versus minions.


Mercury Hammer Ultimate R


+Now grants 5 to 35 Armor and Magic Resistance, based on character level.


Shock Blast Ranged Q



+Damage rescaled to 60/105/150/195/240/285 (+1.2 Bonus) from 60/115/170/225/280 (+1.2 Bonus) - Probably needs to be scaled up a tad. * Missile Speed increased to 1450 from 1350

+Missile Width decreased to 50 from 60.

+Missile Area of Effect decreased to 160 from 175

+Accelerated Missile Width remains at 60.

+Accelerated Missile Area of Effect decreased to 225 from 250

+Accelerated Shock Blast initial speed increased to 2550 from 2350

+Accelerated Shock blast now decays down to 1550 during flight



Hyper Charge Ranged W



+Damage reduced to 70/80/90/100/110/120% from 70/85/100/115/130%

+Critical strikes now simply add 100% of your total AD to the damage (this can be further modified by critical strike damage) rather than being dependent on the rank of the skill.

+Cooldown rescaled to 14/12/10/8/6/4 from 14/12/10/8/6

+Cooldown now begins when Hyper Charge is fully consumed

+Mana Cost rescaled to 30/38/46/54/62/70 from 40





+Mana Cost reduced to 20 from 50

+Has a 6th rank that increases Movement Speed by 55%.


Mercury Cannon Ranged R



+No longer has an armor and magic resist reducing proc.



These changes has changed the way you play Jayce alot. They have been nerfing his Thundering Blow because you could use too often in the early parts of the game, and the % damage was too crazy, but i like the fact that they buffed his To The Skies! because that spell was a bit useless, you used it only for the slow, you couldn't feel the damage, it was basically like just used for the slow, nothing else, it is nice for farming i must say though.

The speed on the accelerated Shock Blast has been increased on the initial speed, but it decays over time, so you see it coming from a large distance with incredible speed, but then it decays, and gives the enemy a bigger change of dodging it, and the range of the AoE has also been decreased..

The mana cost on Acceleration Gate has been reduced very much. Now it cost 20 mana instead of 50, and i really like that, because sometimes when you were totally out of mana, and were escaping from an enemy, you didn't have enough mana for Acceleration Gate, and now you can use it more often, hopefully.

Runes ♥


R U N E S
For an ordinary Jayce i like to go 9x Greater Mark of Attack Damage because it gives me overall damage, and a very strong early-game. These also helps me last hit alot better. Now i go for 9x Greater Seal of Armor which gives me a huge amount of armor, which helps me in the early part of the game, to minimize the enemies damage a bit. For the glyphs i go 9x Greater Glyph of Magic Resist, which helps me against ability power damage, in case you want to go Jayce mid, and last but not least i go for 3x Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage for the overall damage. :) ♥

Items ♥

Starter Items ♥



This is the most typical starter items for a Jayce, the Faerie Charm gives you mana regen, since Jayce is very mana hungry in the beginning of the game, so this definitely helps on it. The Sight Wards are for vision, to make sure you don't get an ugly surprise from the enemy jungler, and last but not least the Health Potions are for the sustain in lane. ♥

This build can be used, if you come again an heavy attack damage opponent. The Cloth Armor minimizes the opponents damage, this helps alot in the early parts of the game, and can give you a huge advantage in the lane, just the fact that the enemy is dealing less damage than you. The health potions are for the sustain, and you need 5x of them. ♥

This build can be used, if you are going for an early first blood. The elixir will give you some extra health, and a bunch of damage, and that little boost, can mean a huge thing and can secure you a first blood. The Elixir of Fortitude is really an amazing item, but you have some limited choices now, since its price got higher, because back in the days it was even better combined with other items in the early parts ♥



Mid-Game Items ♥




Manamune is a MUST when playing Jayce, because of its passive, and it's damage, it's cheap, good and excels perfectly on Jayce. The Black Cleaver is a really strong item, since it gives you health, damage, AND armor pen. I really like the Manamune especially for its super awesome passive, it gains damage, based on your maximum mana, so this combined with other mana items, can be seriously heroic.



Late-game Items ♥




Bloodthirster is a really nice item, it gives you a nice amount of damage - especially when fully stacked - and a very good amount of lifesteal.
