The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is my first guide. It will be all about Jarvan IV because i think it is great champion, not op as many thinks(it is because he is new and most of them doesnt know what his spells are doing and how to avoid them). In this build ill focus on taking adventage from AP and AD with some defence and little bit of magic resistance.
Why not DPS??
Because as DPS he is slow too squishy and his spells are not realy helping with escape - if u realy want it u have to chose flash and ghost yeah i know he got combo which u can use for escaping but what if they are on cd or u cannot cast them??) leave that for MASTER YI or TRYNDAMARE.
Why not TANK??
Because he is not very good in farming if u go pure tank, and as tank u need items. But u cannot get them if u dont have money and your biggest problem in all of that is mana. And how your spells help u for being tank ok u can knock them up, slow, get some hp, take down some of their armor and give some attack speed to your team. OK all of that can realy help your team, but without items u r useless and your lacking in MANA u doesnt help at all.
On the end of Introduction im just asking to READ ALL because just looking on overview doesnt explain everything, and after that RATE.
List of items in order.
- this will bost your surivality on start(as well as masteries and runes)
- to farm and attack other champions easier
- if u have to go back to base make sure u can buy this and previous item
Catalyst the Protector - if u only got and u have enough money for present and previous items dont be afraid to go for it. This is great item will boost your hp and mana, your survivality is rising and u can cast your spells more often without of being afraid of mana that much.
- this will rise your magic resist, now u r not afraid of stuns etc. that much.
- this is surprise most of u now thinking what am i doing, but i want u to remember that Jarvan IV is not only using AD, Demacian Standard take damage form AP.
- u got speed, planty of health and mana, also your main spell got bonus dmg from AP now it is time for AD which your Dragon Strike was waiting for.
- this will make u feel stronger and u will forget about mana issues, also provide great boost for your Demacia Standard
- Demacia Standard was boosted as well mana and hp, so the time for Dragon Strike has come. 40 AD 40% of armour penetration is just awesome and work well with the Dragos Strike also making Cataclysm more dangerous.
Warden Mail - ok u got great damage from both main offensive spells, ultimate is strong too. What about u?? Now is time to build up your defence, can u see whats the difference?
- 25 AD, 12 life steal what a ****py item for 1825 are u crazy? No im not little bit of life steal is always welcome and AD is usefull too, read more and u will know what is the MYSTERY.
- core defensive item, this is what u need to be AN EXEMPLAR OF DEMACIA. Remember of its ACTIVE
- THE MYSTERY, u can feel eaven more of an exemplar of demacia. this item will make your combo and each single attack much more dangerous.
- all in 1. Stronger, faster, BALANCED
OPTIONS(in order as most recomended as a replacement)
im not recommending changing this item because it will destroy balance :> but if u realy want:
- if u like autoattacking
- also nice replacement, but IMO LW is better
- aoe always welcome, also nice replacement, similar price
great item against tanks, little bit more expansive

- u shouldnt exchange this item
- if u like attack speed
- powerfull boost of AD
Skill sequence for jarvan is realy simple, here is how i use it:
Killing minions and other monsters :P
Demacian Standard Dragon Strike(combo)
when u point Dragon Strike on the Demacian Standard it will pull u on it.
Going into the fight
Demacian Standard behind your oponents Dragon Strike onto the flag Golden Aegis Dragon Strike few auto attack dmg and combo Demacian Standard Dragon Strike which will bring u back to your team mates or for the chase and dealing more dmg to finish everything off or just to trap champion use Cataclysm in the middle of that use Exhaust on different champon your team will kill him
tower diving(if champion is just 1 shot)
Demacian Standard Dragon Strike just to geting closer and taking buff from Standard and finnaly after Standard Cataclysm Golden Aegis to help u escape.
SPELLS IN HERE WILL SHOU U HOW MUCH MANA IT WILL COST, WHEN U CAN REUSE(CD), HOW MUCH ADDITIONAL DEMAGE U WILL GAIN USING MY BUILD(MASTERIES, RUNES ,ITEMS INCLUDED).
Jarvan IV's attacks deal 10% of the target's current Health as magic damage (max: 400 damage). This effect cannot occur on the same target for 6 seconds.
COOLDOWN 4.2 MANA 60
Jarvan IV extends his lance, dealing 270 (+143) physical damage and lowering the Armor of all enemies in its path by 26% for 3 seconds.
If it contacts his standard it will pull Jarvan IV to its location, knocking up enemies in his path.
COOLDOWN 10.07 MANA 75
Jarvan IV forges a 250 (+40 health for each nearby enemy champion) health shield for 5 seconds, which slows surrounding enemies by 35% for 2 seconds.
COOLDOWN 10.07 MANA 60
Passive: Jarvan IV has 26% bonus Attack Speed and 26 bonus Armor.
Active: Jarvan IV throws a Demacian flag to a nearby area, dealing 260 (+151.2) magic damage to enemies, and granting surrounding allied champions his passive bonus for 8 seconds.
COOLDOWN 75.57 MANA 150
Jarvan IV heroically leaps at an enemy champion, dealing 500 (+195) physical damage and creating an arena of impassable terrain around them for 3.5 seconds.
Activate again to collapse the wall.
Demacia Standard can block some spells such as MORHANA's Dark Binding.
Demacian Standard Dragon Strike(combo) - knocking into the air, escaping.
Cataclysm - i u use it wrong your team can die because of u. Can be deactivated by u, or destroyed by enemys.
Golden Aegis - when chaseing or being chased u can use it to slow the enemy and get some hp shield.
As a summoner spells i almost always use:
Ghost - chase, escape
Exhaust - u should know why
Ignite - good to finish spell or for life stealing beasts...
Flash - good for escape, initiate, but u got combo for that and it works similar
Greater Mark of Desolation - armor penetration will work great with Dragon Strike
Greater Seal of Vitality Greater Quintessence of Vitality - great bost on start and midgame, i prefer everything per lvl but it is your choice
Greater Glyph of Scaling Cooldown Reduction - spamable spells

U will see some differences between mine stats and mobafire's. I think it is because i used different calculator on this.

Passive: +40% Armor Penetration
Passive: 5% Cooldown Reduction and 20% chance on being hit to slow the attacker's movement and attack speeds by 35% for 3 seconds.
UNIQUE Active: Slows movement speeds and attack speeds of surrounding units by 35% for 2 seconds + 0.5 seconds for each 100 Armor and Magic Resist. 60 second cooldown.
Passive: 25% chance on hit to slow the target by 35% for 2.5 seconds; on cast, increases your base Attack Damage by 150% for one attack.
