Introduction

Hello and welcome to my guide. In this guide I will explain in as much detail as possible who is LeBlanc and what's your job in the game.

LeBlanc has an insane amount of Burst Damage and works best in early/mid game or in surprised ganks. She's a pure assassin and if you play well you can kill almost any enemy in 1vs1. The best thing about LeBlanc is that she can sneak kill people who are not aware of your gank even if they're standing next to their turret in 75% health. If you do it well you can assassinate them before they even manage to react, you will probably get 2 or maybe 1 hit by the turret before you kill them. With a good combination of your skills you can destroy pretty much every champion (some tanks are excluded) without giving them the chance to run or attack back.

The problem with LeBlanc is that if you make ONE mistake in a fight you instantly loose your burst of damage.

Who is LeBlanc

LeBlanc is an assassin, that means you pick your target, you rash into them with either Distortion or Flash and kill them in seconds. Then if you're fast enough you can activate Distortion again and go back in the brush.

You need to remember that LeBlanc as powerful as she is, she's one of the squishiest champions in the game with not much health or defence. If you're doing well in the game most of the champions will be afraid of you and they won’t attack when you jump in to assassinate them and instead they will try and run away from you. During your attack you are susceptible to stuns and silences which could interupt your combo and lead to your eventual death. In that case you can't trigger Distortion to go back and you're most likely dead (with some decent DPS). So always try and foresee the outcome of the fight and what CC they have available to kill you.

In summary you deal a lot of damage, especially in early/mid game, and you can kill many champions before they get a chance to run away but you can also die really easily if you're not careful. Don't underestimate the enemy and be careful when your team reports SS (missing from a lane), because what you thought for an easy kill might end up being a free kill to the enemy team.

Your Role in Mid

LeBlanc is one of the best champions for mid, but there many other good mid champions. In this chapter I will briefly explain how you should be playing against other champions.

Karthus (Easy)
Karthus is another good mid champion, but with some practise you can easily kill him before you even reach lvl 8. Karthus will start with Lay Waste in that case all you have to do is dodge his attacks. Keep moving to random (random for the enemy) directions while still last hitting the minions. His Wall of Pain is pretty much useless against you since you can easily dodge it with your Distortion. Toss a few hits on him and when you get him at 70% health or less attack him with Sigil of Silence, jump on him with Distortion, Ignite and Ethereal Chains if he tries to run away.

If you're good enough you can even tower dive and kill him after lvl 6-7.

Brand (Easy-Medium)
Also another good mid champion but like Karthus, he's an easy kill for you. Be constantly on guard since Brand will be using Pillar of Flame on you a lot. Never stay on the same spot and always keep an eye on him because if you see him coming towards you that means he WILL cast Pillar of Flame. Like with Karthus, you can kill him easily at lvl 6. Always carry Healing Potion on you in case his DOT is going to kill you.

Annie (Easy-Medium)
You should only worry about Annie after she gets lvl 6. But, Annie has a really cool passive, Pyromania, with that she can stun you and maybe even kills you if you don't escape quick enough. Always keep an eye on her buffs (click on her and at the top left corner you can see what buffs they have) and be cautious if she's at the 4th stack or if she has her passive activated. In that case start with Sigil of Silence, she will stun you, right after the stun is gone, use Mimic to silence her, Ethereal Chains and Distortion to finish her off.

Kassadin (Hard)
Kassadin is pretty much LeBlanc's nemesis. He more or less has the same type of attacks and he's also an assassin. The reason he's difficult for you in mid is because he can silence you with Null Sphere before you manage and silence him with your Sigil of Silence and Distortion. While you're silenced he will attack you again with Nether Blade. Dealing about 40% damage on you while you only dealed 10-20% on him. If you try and harass him with a random Distortion and then [{Sigil of Silence]] he will again silence you making it impossible for you to port back to your original spot. In my opinion if you're not experienced enough don't try and fight him in mid, ask your tank to go mid, Garen, Mordekaiser etc are realyl good against him. Alternativley play defensive until you're sure you can take him. You could gank him from the brush, start off with Ethereal Chains to snare him and stop him from Riftwalking then Q and R and E and he should be dead. Kassadin is a treat for LeBlanc when he's low on mana since he can't spam/use his ulti.

Caitlyn (Easy)
Caitlyn will harass you with Piltover Peacemaker if you keep moving around you should be fine. Stay on guard and if you find yourself blocked by minions use Distortion. You can also use your clone to disable any traps in your lane. Also beware of her ultimate, if you're low on health it's better to go B than stay there and risk dying. In the worst case you can use your clone to take the bullet for you. Place the clone with ALT+CLICK in front of you to cover you. It takes some practise but it can be done.

Lux Morgana (Easy)
Similar playing style, they both have a snare that you can dodge by standing behind minions and an AOE attack that you need to avoid. So basically use your Distortion and teleport to a RANDOM spot close to them and harass with Sigil of Silence and then instantly activate Distortion again. If you use it to silence them, then you're risking of taking the snare, that it why you should teleport to a RANDOM spot. For their AOE, stay on guard and keep moving. Before Morgana's nerf she was a bit hard to kill because of her life steal but now she's a lot easier.

Xerath (Medium-Hard)
Remember that Xerath has insane range, but against LeBlanc he's not that hard. Move around and be on guard so his Arcanopulse, if you see him using Locus of Power fall back and don't risk attacking him. You should be harassing him same way as you harass Lux or Morgana because you must avoid his stun. When you get lvl 6, Flash to him and then QREW. It should be enough to kill him in early game.

These tips don't apply to every person and in every case. Don't rely entirely on these tips since the enemy might be really good or really bad. If you feel uncomfortable with LeBlanc take Teleport so you can save the turret and go back whenever you need. Also if the enemy in mid has killed you many times, ask your team for help to gank him. Whatever the case, you will need Healing Potion but don't overdo it because you should be spending your money on items and not on potions.

Other champions that you might find in mid are:
Ezreal, Kog'Maw, Orianna, Kassadin, Ryze, Anivia, Ashe, Cassiopeia, [{Fiddlesticks]], Heimerdinger, [Kennen and many more. I will update this whenever I get a chance and try and explain how to kill those champions. If you don't know the enemy champion then you can't predict their attacks and you don't know if they have any CCs or escapes. Ask your team for tips on how to kill them and ALWAYS check the enemy's items (if they have any potions) and spells (if they have Ignite or Flash)

Items

There are many items you can use for LeBlanc, it entirely depends on your playing style. Personally I play LeBlanc as a pure single target assassin. That means she can destroy single target enemies with burst damage and then run away or hide in your jungle.

First I start off with Boots, 2 Health Potion and 1 Mana Potion. This gives me a decent mobility in my lane (to avoid snares, stuns etc) and also a basic survivability with the 2 Health Potion and I can harass with the 1 Mana Potion. Some people prefer Doran's Ring. Other buy 3 Health Potion instead of 2. It entirely depends on you.

Then I buy Kage's Lucky Pick, for the gold and for a bit of AP. To boost my AP even more I buy an Ellixir of Brilliance in early game to dominate in mid and gank top or bottom. Up until this point you might need some more healing potions and one mana potion. After you buy the Fiendish Codex you will never run out of mana. It's the only mana item that you need for the whole game.

Deathfire Grasp allows me to deal a HUGE amount of damage without using any of my skills. I prefer it to Mejai's Soulstealer because with Deathfire Grasp I can kill even tanks like Mordekaiser.

Rabadon's Deathcap is a standard LeBlanc item with a massive boost in AP, same for Void Staff (Magic penetration boost). You can either buy the Zhonya's Hourglass before or after the Void Staff, it entirely depends on how well you're doing and on the enemy team's items.

Other items you can buy for LeBlanc are Morello's Evil Tome, Rod of Ages, Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Will of the Ancients.

About Mejai's Soulstealer, some people love this item, I used to buy it as well but then I realised that with Deathfire Grasp, Void Staff and Rabadon's Deathcap I don't need Mejai's Soulstealer, plus with Mejai's Soulstealer you can't risk dying because if you die you will lose your stacks. It's up to you.

Summoner Spells and Masteries

I use Ignite and Flash, Ignite helps me give a little bit of extra damage to enemies in early game, makes it harder for champions like Soraka, Nasus, Tryndamere etc to heal while I fight them and Flash allows me to either use it to show up to an enemy from the brush, or to chase someone or even to escape. You have Distortion but personally I use Distortion to hit the enemy rather than get closer to them. Depends on the occasion but Flash is definitely a must have skill for LeBlanc.

Other skills you might want to have are Teleport (helps you get to the other lanes faster and even prepare a gank), Cleanse (allows you to remove anything that stops you from using distortion again) and Ghost (helps you get to the other lanes faster, run away, or chase an enemy).

The Masteries are standard caster masteries, with one point in Burning Embers instead of Presence of the Master . This extra one point in Burning Embers will give you a bit of extra AP in early game. On the other hand the extra point in Presence of the Master might save you a couple of times with Ignite and Flash. Depends on what you want, experiment and see for yourself what works better for you.

Skills and Skill Sequence

Sigil of silence
This is your main spell, it's really powerful and if you use another of LeBlanc's abilities it will deal more damage and Silence your target.

Distortion
Your second best skill, with this you can farm minions, cach up to enemies or run away. The damage output is alright but the most important thing about it is that you can trick enemies with it.

Ethereal Chains
You'll be surprised of how awesome this skill is. Against enemies like Nasus (on ulti), Tryndamere etc it will save your life. Use it to slow the enemies and snare them by your turret. It can go through walls so use it wisely. It deals initial damage so if an enemy is low and is trying to run away use it to finish him off.

Mimic
This ulti is what makes LeBlanc who she is. People say that you should always Mimic your Sigil of Silence. I disagree. If you Mimic Ethereal Chains it will snare and slow your enemy. Sometimes it's better to keep a distance from the enemy than burst them with all your skills and then see their HP going up cause of life steal. Enemies like Tryndamere are useless if you keep your distance. Also mimicking your Distortion can help you escape. Mimicking your Sigil of Silence will drop your enemies’ HP to at least 30%. Be cautious thought, if you make a mistake and use the wrong ultimate, it might cost you one death.

With Deathfire Grasp you can easily kill almost any enemy up until mid game, in late game (assuming you have Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff) you shouldn't have difficulties to kill other mages or carries.

You start off with Ethereal Chains, then use your Deathfire Grasp, then Sigil of Silence, Mimic and finish off with Distortion. Remember, Deathfire Grasp will deal a minimum of 200 DMG, that means if the enemy is low on health you can use it to finish them off.
