Introduction

Hi and wellcome to my guide on playing Shyvana jungle.
I would like to start of with saying a few things
1. I have tried out different items for Shyvana and I have found out that the items I go for usually makes you hit harder and makes you survive longer

2. This build will be updated every patch if there are any changes on Shyvana or if I find any new items that are suitable on shyvana

3. Know that this guide is not the best guide as there are never such a thing, as the best guide, as there are numerus of ways to build Shyvana I will try and cover two of those and the two I have played and know how to play.

FURY OF THE DRAGONBORN
Shyvana's autoattacks enhance her abilities.
Your passive makes your spells get a lower cooldown, longer duration and a dot.


TWIN BITE
(Active): Shyvana's next autoattack will strike twice in one swift movement. The second attack will deal physical damage equal to a percentage of her total attack damage. Both attacks will trigger on-hit effects and Fury of the Dragonborn effects.

Dragon form: Twin Bite will damage all units in front of Shyvana when she uses her next autottack instead of just her target. Each unit hit will be dealt on-hit effects and grant fury twice.

Fury of the Dragonborn: Each auto attack reduces the cooldown by 0.5 seconds. This doesn't work on structures.


BURNOUT
(Active): During the next 3 seconds, Shyvana will deal magic damage each second to nearby enemies and her movement speed will be greatly increased. Shyvana's movement speed bonus itself will be reduced multiplicatively by 15% for every second that passes.
Dragon form: Shyvana now scorches the earth where she walks, leaving a trail of fire for 5 seconds that will continually deal magic damage to enemies that pass over it.

Cooldown: 12 seconds
Radius of AoE: 325
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each auto attack extends the duration of Burnout by 1 second to a maximum of 4 extra seconds. This works on structures.


FLAME BREATH
(Active): Shyvana unleashes a fireball forward in a line that affects the first enemy it hits, dealing magic damage to it and reducing its armor by 15% for 4 seconds.
Dragon form: Flame Breath engulfs all units in a cone in front of Shyvana.

Range: 925
Fury of the Dragonborn: Each autoattack that hits debuffed targets will deal 15% of the ability's damage as additional magic damage.


DRAGON'S DESCENT
(Passive): Shyvana reinforces her scales, increasing her armor and magic resistance. These defensive bonuses are doubled while in dragon form.
(Active): Shyvana transforms into a dragon and dashes to a target location. Enemies along her path take magic damage and are pushed toward her target location.

Range: 1000
This ability has no cooldown but requires 100 fury to activate. Shyvana generates 1 fury every 1.5 seconds while in human form. While in dragon form, she will lose 6 fury every second. Once the fury bar is empty she will return to her normal state.

Fury of the Dragonborn: Each of her autottacks will generate 2 fury. This will allow for Shyvana to prolong the duration of dragon form by attacking. This ability works on structures.

Skill Sequence

For starting skill I take Burnout as it will help you clearing Wolves camp at level 1 much easier.

The second skill I take is Twin Bite this will help you take Lizzard buff at level 2 without smite, but you will get very low hp if you dont use smite.

At level three I take Burnout again for getting more movement speed and lower the cooldown on it..
At level four I take another level in Twin Bite as it will scale more with your AD the higher level you have on it, when it's maxed out it will deal additional 100% of your AD, so if you have 308AD (just a random number) you will do another 308 damage, meaning it will do a total of 616 damage instead of 308

I don't take Flame Breath untill level five, the reason I dont take it untill level five is that you don't really need it in the jungle, except when you are doing the Lizzard buff or Ancient golem, as it lowers the armor with 15% and plus the 14,94 armor penetration you get from your Marks.

Your ultimate Dragon's Descent is your only cc, and when you gank after level six, you should place your self behind them and ult them towards your allies, if they are close to your tower you should ult them into the tower forcing them to attack you and making the tower attack them as well, killing them alot faster.

Hit harder with lower AD
I take Greater Mark of DesolationArmor penetration, for basic attacks and for your Twin Bite as it basicly an basic attack, if you get a Ionic Spark you only have to hit twice then activate Twin Bite as it counts as two basic attacks, triggering Ionian Spark's passive. I don't like Ionic Spark on Shyvana as Wit's End gives you Magic resist when you attack someone, but it caps at four stacks and the stacks dissapears after a few seconds of not attacking anyone.


GREATER SEAL OF RESILIENCE
More armor, less damage taken
For seals I take flat Armor, as it makes you a little bit more tanky, and it makes your jungling alot easier, as you take less damage from all the creeps in the jungle.


GREATER GLYPH OF SHIELDING
More magic resist, less magic damage taken
For glyphs I take Magic resist per level, as it also makes you more tanky, and it helps you against the AP caster in mid, and/or the top carry, depending on what they put on top, if they put Kennen at top you should look at what he is building, if he is building AP you should consider getting Maw of Malmortius, as it gives you magic resist and a shield if you drop below 30%hp and it blocks 300 magic damage.

Hit harder with lower AD
For quints I take Greater Quintessence of Desolation Armor penetration, it makes you hit even harder at early game also making your jungling alot easier, if you want you can either take Flat Damage if you don't that they will get more armor, or Attack speed if you think you need it for clearing the jungle faster

CLOTH ARMOR
Early armor
When jungling with the most champions you take Cloth Armor as first item, Shyvana is no exception, if you want you can start with Boot's of speed and then start on Madred's Razor but I recommend getting Cloth Armor as first item as it will reduce the damage you take early in the game.


WRIGGLE'S LANTERN
Early armor, Life steal and free wards
After you have cleared your jungle and gone B you should either buy Madred's Razor or if you can't afford it get a Long Sword and finnish your Madred's Razor later, after you got your Madred's Razor you start building Wriggle's Lantern and it will help you survive in the jungle and it will also make your ganks more powerfull, it will also help you take down Dragon alot faster, and it will give you a free ward every three minutes.


WIT'S END
Attack speed and Magic ressist
After you got your Wriggle's Lantern you should get Wit's End for more Magic Ressist and attack speed.


SUNFIRE CAPE
More max health and more armor
Instead of going Warmog's Armor like I used to do, I tend to get Sunfire Aegis for health and armor instead, it will also get you a nice dot effect, it also scales well with Atma's Impaler


ATMA'S IMPALER
More armor, crit and AD
Atma's Impaler is a really good item for the kind of champs who stack HP and want some armor, it will make them tankier and hit like a truck


FROZEN MALLET
More max health and a anoying slow
This plus a Sunfire Aegis will give you alot of health, and it will also give you more AD from Atma's Impaler


The Bloodthirster
More ad and life steal, minus the free ward
After you have finnished your Frozen Mallet you should sell your Wriggle's Lantern and start building on Bloodthirster, you should start out your Bloodthirster with a B. F. Sword and then finnish it of with the gold that is needed.

This a good choice if you need a shield and magic resist against magic damage



TRINITY FORCE
Sheen proc
This a good choice if you feel that you need that you could use more damage, other than that, I wouldn't take it.


IONIC SPARK
Lightning
This a good choice if you feel that you need that you could use more attack speed and less magic resist other than that, I wouldn't take it.


MADRED'S BLOODRAZOR
HP based damage on target
They have a tank that is only stacking HP and armor? Get this item, it will melt is face off.

Summoner Spells

For summoner spells I take Exhaust and Smite, but there are others that you can take.
I will list them below.


GHOST
Movementspeed
If you feel that aren't fast enough, it will help you catch up


HEAL
Noob heal
You can take heal if you feel that you will take alot of damage, or if you're just a coward


CLEANSE
QSS as a spell
You should only take this if you are afraid of getting stunned or something like that, but it is better on a carry.


FLASH
Blinking through walls
Flash is good on Shyvana as it will help you escape, chase, place an epic ult etc. but I still prefer Exhaust over Flash

Masteries

Mastery Explanations
OFFENSE TREE
space
Tier 1 Summoner's Wrath Take this to give exhaust a lower cd, Brute Force and Butcher I take those two to make more damage to both champions and monsters.

Tier 2 Alacrity This will make you hit faster.

Tier 3 Deadliness This will help you scale more into lategame. Weapon Expertise This will help you against those who stack armor.

Tier 4 Lethality Your crits will take more, nothing bad about that. Vampirism A little life steal can't hurt, not you at least.

Tier 5 Sunder Take only one point here, so that you can get Executioner .

Tier 6 Executioner You do 6% more damage against targets below 40% of their max HP


DEFENSE TREE

Summoner's Resolve It will give smite a lower Cd and you get 10g instead of 5g. Resistance Only one point, you can't spend more on this, it gives you some magic resist. Hardiness Two points here so you can reach Durability

Tier 2 Durability All 4 points so you get 108 hp more on level 18, it's not much, but it helps.

Tier 3 Veteran's Scars This will give you 30 more hp, it will help you in the jungle and early game.

Jungling, Ganking and Warding

For warding and ganking there are quite standard locations, ward Baron Nashor , Dragon and both your and their buffs, I have implemented a few pictures here to help you with warding, jungling and ganking

The Purple stars next to Baron and Dragon is Vision Ward's and the other green ones are Sight Ward's

Placing Shyvana on a team

When playing Shyvana you should know that the only real CC you have is from your ult, meaning that if you are first pick, you should let your team know that they need to take someone with more CC then you. I have composed a list of champs that are good to have on your team when playing Shyvana.

Good Teammates to have
AMUMU
A mummy
He is a great champion to have on your team, as his ult will work in your favor. It will lock them up and then you can run in front of them and ult them in to your team


TARIC
A "faboulus" support
He can help you either run away or chase down a anoying target

ALISTAR
A cow you can't milk
He is just awesome with Shyvana when you come to gank he will just knock 'em up and you and your AD carry get a free kill, and in team fights he can help you with moving special targets around, you can ult them in one direction and he can Headbutt them in another making them cc'ed and unable to do anything.

CHO'GATH
A dinosaur
Cho'gath is a quite good choice, if you need someone to either take alot of damage or CC, he and shyvana can be a very good combo if you are speaking on skype for example


Bad champions to be against

TARIC
A "Fabolous" support
He will just stun you before you can do anything


ALISTAR
A cow you can't milk
As mentioned above, he will Headbutt you away

KASSADIN
Darth Vader joined League
Come to close and you will be silenced, try to escape? He got a 5 sec teleport to chase or to escape

TRISTANA
A smurf with a gun
She will just shoot you away, as you are vulnerable to CC when ulting

VAYNE
A chick with a crossbow
Same as above
