Introduction
The nickname's Algid Tune, I'm the EU West Platinum ranked player and I got there mainly by playing Soraka. Link to my stats: lolskill I decided to write the guide because I don't see people using some of the items I generally use. And since I enjoy playing Soraka this way, I figured maybe there are people who'd enjoy it either. My main objective when I was creating this build was to make sure Soraka is strong through all the phases of the game. Runes help her to stay healthy in early game, potions allow her to maximise her healing potential in mid game, and finally, some AP items with armor and magic resist are great for surviving the late game. The guide is mainly designed for those who are already familiar with the champion and the game. I hope you'll find information that's written here useful. English isn't my native language and it's my first guide ever. Feel free to correct me, let me know if anything in my guide can be improved. Anything, really, is much appreciated. |

I feel like I should recommend reading notes to items.
Runes

If you want all-purpose rune set, I'd say this one is the best option.

Usually, it's

There are four reasons to swap the spells with your AD carry:
- It might be easier for AD carry to reach a damage source than for you because you are usually behind your carry.
- If you come close to a damage source in order to put
Exhaust, an enemy may start focusing you if they are ranged.
- It doesn't matter who gets focused in a team fight, Soraka's always happy to receive some healing because of her health donating mechanics. It means that if you use
Astral Infusion 2 or 3 times on an ally, and then
Heal an ally, you may maximize
Heal's potential.
-
Windspeaker's Blessing affects
Heal.

You do lose 200-400 gold, it depends on how good your allies are at last-hitting, how often you are able to get close to an enemy safely for auto-attack and how long a match lasts.

It is my choice by default. As it's been said in the notes, they let you roam faster and dodge skill shots more easily. Also, you are able to outrun a lot of champions with these. ' |

These are a good choice against slow effects and if you want to effectively kite enemies. ' ' |

It is a great choice if you feel relatively safe and want extra ability and spell cooldown reduction. ' ' |

It is a fine choice against heavy crowd control and heavy AP enemy team compositions. ' ' |

You may want to buy these against a full AD team composition. ' ' |

Great item against area of effect magic damage. Potentially provides you with additional gold. Helps with defending side lanes if your team is busy with objectives. ' |

The item is amazing if your team has 2+ attack speed based champions (e.g. Warwick and Kalista). ![]() ' |

If your carry can use some crit chance, consider buying it. Sometimes I decide to get other items if my carry is way behind. ' |

It is a great item that boosts your survivability in team fights, works especially well against heavy AP team compositions. I recommend buying it after one or two items that give AP (e.g. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Another item that you may want to buy if you get focused hard. Works well against mixed damage. Personally, I always find other items more useful. ' |
Soraka is one of those supports that provide their carry with safe early game thanks to sustain and disengage via zoning and crowd controlling, it's a decent pick for any AD carry, but here are those carries I had better experience with.

Here are junglers Soraka's good at helping to if they focus on ganking bottom.

- If your team has hard crowd control (e.g. stuns or knock ups), place
Equinox under a controlled enemy. The enemy won't escape. Also, you can snare with
Equinox an enemy that teleports to a unit near you if you time the ability correctly.
- Every time enemy mage minions with full HP approach your turret, you can hit each of them once with your auto-attack. Alternatively, you can hit them all at once with
Starcall. It lets your carry last hit minions under a turret more easily. It's called softening minions. This tactic is especially helpful when you and your carry are under heavy pressure.
- You can detect invisible enemy champions with
Starcall. If an invisible enemy gets hit with Starcall, you can see Rejuvination's particle effect that buffs Soraka. It's especially useful if you need to check a brush for
Teemo's ambush.
- Even though in
Starcall's description it's said that enemy champion hit by Starcall applies Rejuvination to Soraka, there are some enemy units you might not consider enemy champions:
•Anivia's egg form (
Rebirth).
•LeBlanc's clone (
Mirror Image).
•Mordekaiser's enslaved soul (
Children of the Grave).
•Yorick's reanimated ally (
Omen of Death).
•Shaco's illusion (
Hallucinate).
•Illaoi's pulled out spirit (
Test of Spirit).
Hitting any of these targets with Starcall will buff Soraka.
