Introduction
Welcome to my Sion guide. Here, you will find some good tips to build Sion as a Support or a Toplaner. I hope it is useful, as I made it very carefully and with a complete overview of the game, technical stuff, strategic plays and gameplay.
Everything is explained in detal. For practical purposes, all the details will be put in spoiler, in case you need a quick look to the guide.
For me, it's all about making the right decision at the right time. Here, I will expose a lot of aspects of the game, as I said, an in-depth guide. I sincerely hope this is useful for you all, and I will keep things as clean and explicit as possible. Please enjoy!
NOTE: I will update the guide in time, always keepin' track of any changes.
Here I will list my choice for Sion's pros and cons, and explain them.

This is meant to be a supportive note for reviewing the abilities, so the essencial information about them is always available. The details of all the abilities here.
Glory In Death
space | When Sion dies, he comes back, but in a frenzy. You start at full HP, but the longer you live, the more you loose. Sion also gains 100% lifesteal and fixes his attack speed at 1.75. When in this state all your abilities turn to Death Surge. |
Decimating Smash Q
space | Sion, slowly, charges a high damage area of effect knockup. If you charge it for at least 1 second, it will also stun everyone smashed. Deals physical damage. |
Soul Furnace W
space | Passive: Sion gains 2 bonus health when killing a unit, and 10 when it's a big unit, or if he assisted or scored a takedown. Active: Sion shields himself for up to 6 seconds. Shield scales with AP and maximum health percentage. After 3 seconds, you can cast Soul Furnace again to explode the shield, dealing magic damage and enemies' maximum health percentage. After 6 seconds, if still up, the shield explodes anyway. |
Roar of the Slayer E
space | Sion roars a war scream, that creates a wave. It's a skillshot. If you hit an enemy, it will slow them and reduce their armor. If you hit a minion, monster, Shaco's Jack In The Box, Heimerdinger's turrets ( H-28G Evolution Turret - H-28Q Apex Turret when ulted with UPGRADE!!!), or any champion created monster (Annie's Summon: Tibbers, Yorick's Mist Walkers and his Maiden of the Mist, etc.), it will be knocked back a long distance, dealing additional damage. This ability deals magic damage. |

Keep in mind, the purpose of these mastery trees is combined. If you need the stats of the top lane masteries for your laning phase as a support, go for it. Always consider the enemy team composition!
