Hello everyone and welcome to my first guide on mobafire concerning Kha'Zix.I hope u upvote this guide because i have spent a lot of time trying to put it together and teach you ways in which this insect can be devastating to enemy teams. This guide does not only emphasize on the build itself but goes beyond it so as to offer you an all rounded perspective about this new assasin that has recently joined the community
Abbreviations used throughout the guide
AP = Ability Power
AD = Attack damage
CS = Creeps / Minions
MR = Magic Resist
ArP = Armor Penetration
CC = Crowd Control
[*] Huge burst
[*] Good at farming
[*] high survivability Leap Void Assault
[*] extremely fun to play
[*] not item dependant
[*] good at jungling as well
[*]not so much cc
[*]bad dance emote
[*]squishy early game
[*]a bit mana dependant again early game
this is something really easy to miss, but it's a huge advantage in lane. it lets you effectively deal damage via harass to champions that out range you, with the slow, and all you have to do to get it back is walk into a bush. big thing to keep in mind here is that the damage scales with AP, so while the damage is scary early game, late game its only noteworthy because of its slow; i should also say, this is where the mind games start.
This is your bread and butter in team fights. You should be using this primarily to farm up minions but once you have your Void Spikemaxed up you should be using that one instead. Try to land it on enemies as often as possible and get your enemy isolated so your damage is increased tremendously
This is the ability you will be using late game to farm up and get your enemies off guard and who knows? maybe even a kill :)
Khazix's "E" is what seperates a good from a bad player. Knowing when and where to use Leap can turn around the whole game even if your team is losing badly.
So you reached level 6 and its the time to decide which ability to evolve. Well, i go first for Taste Their Fear then Void Spike and between his Void and Leap, the extra range and survivability that his wings have to offer eliminate the evolvement of his ulti
So the game starts and you choose the lane you wish to be either top or bot. Kha'Zix is also viable solo where you can farm up and complete your build much faster than duo lane.So your first choice will be Doran's Blade due to the lifesteal and health it has to offer you can stay in lane longer thus getting more xp. Your first recall should be done once u reach around 5-6 lvls. Boots of Speed is the next item due to the extra movement speed which is crucial early game combined with some Health Potion x3.( if you have extra farming because you are a beast at farming dont hesitate to get another Doran's Blade to wreck ur opponents}
By now you should have got around 2-3 kills and why not more? :). So when you buy your next choice will be Ionian Boots of Lucidity. The ''cooldown reduction'' combined with your q can be a deadly weapon. Then i prefer goping for Infinity Edge and then The Brutalizer depending if the enemy team is building armor.As soon as the mid game is coming ot an end you should be on your way to getting The Bloodthirster as a way to boost up your AD really high.
Your The Bloodthirster stacks should be completed by now. If not try to clear minion waves of lanes combined with jungling. from now on you should consider the type of enemy team you are dealing with. For example lets persume they are all heavy ap casters.This is where Maw of Malmortius will come in hand. In case of an AD team you should consider wether you should buy a Thornmail so sacrificing your own burst to wether you need more survivability.So you should decide wether you sacrifice your armor penetration through a Last Whisper or not.Lastly you should pop up your damage with a bit of survivability with a Guardian Angel or a Banshee's Veil depending on the type of enemies and remember before that to upgrade The Brutalizer to a Youmuu's Ghostblade
If you beleive you can sustain your survivability
definitely a viable item that you can switch with a Frozen Mallet if you think you need more damage and armor penetration
This item has been troubling me lately because it can be very helpful for Kha'Zix but its cost outweights its advantage and also other items are more crucial and nee to be bought prior to it
these boots can save lifes if your opponents are full of ccs and i prefer taking them instead of Ionian Boots of Lucidity in some cases
is another item you should consider buying in case your enemy team is stacking hp so you can melt them down much faster
many of you may ask me why not? the simple answer is that Kha'Zix role is to jump in deal damage back off and then vice verca and even if it may be helpful at farming you have your Void Spike which can clear huge minion waves in seconds. On top of that AD is much more efficient n Kha'Zix than AS
A solid item with its AS and armor penetration
Dont be afraid to sacrifice a bit of ADC for survivability especially late game
First priority if enemy is building armor( same as guardian angel)
i dont think why anyone would take that for Kha'Zix but you never know. It can be good....
ONLY when they have huge ap burst
WARDS and more wards....
What peple fail to understand is the power that sight
can offer. They can help you gank,they can help you escape, they can help you arrange team fights and more.
Lets say you have 250 + extra money, you have Health Potion and Mana Potion whats left?
When to buy?
[*] Before Baron
[*] Before teamfight
[*] After complete build
Greater Mark of Attack Damage
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Lethality
0.95 Attack Damage Per Rune
Total of 8.55 Attack Damage
These runes are great for Kha'Zix because it allows him to cs especially combined with his high base AD. It also gives him better scaling on his passive Void Assault and his 'q' Taste Their Fear Damage which are already high. This makes both his auto attacks and his abilities very deadly. Helps with your already strong lane.
1.41 Armor per rune
Total of to 12.69 armor
It allows you to mitigate against early game harass at bot lane which the AD carry will auto attack to harass you. It also allows you to take some minion damage if you do happen to harass and draw minion aggro since minions are really strong early game
0.15 magic resist per level (2.7 at champion level 18) per rune[
Total of 24.3 Magic Resist at Level 18
These runes are used so you're not completely vulnerable to AP burst casters. It's scaling because they're not as effective early game as they are late game, not to mention your MR doesn't increase every level and these essentially give you a scaling. It may also help against harassing AD Carries/Supports with magic damage skills.
2.25 attack damage per rune
Rounded up to 7 Attack Damage
It gives a small amount of additional damage abilities, it allows early game harass and easier last hitting. Especially ocmbined with Kha'Zix base AD.
ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THESE RUNES ARE NOT THE ONLY SOLID RUNES TO GO WITH, THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES DEPENDING ON YOUR STYLE!!!!!
Summoner's Wrath:This is the mastery that improves your Ignite, overall this is just something that the best in slot. Besides, if you use your Ignite, you get 5 AD instead of dealing 4 more damage to minions.
Brute Force: You gain 3 Attack Damage from this mastery at 4 point, it basically allows you to farm much better, it allows for more harass and some Taste Their Fear scalling, not on a significant scale, but it's good for your role.
Alacrity: This gives you 6% attack speed at 4 points, since Kha'zix]] benefits from it , why not?
Weapon Expertise: This is great for some late game damage, and all your physical damage including your abilities will utilize the 10% armor penetration.
Deadliness: This gives you .5 AD per level at 4 points, totaling to 9 AD at level 18, which is nice, it gives you some more Attack Damage on top of your runes and Brute Force + the base scaling.
Lethality: This gives you 10% more critical damage, it won't be effective early game simply because you don't rush critical strikes early game, but as the game progresses and you start buying your Infinity Edge, this will start kicking in.
Vampirism: This gives you 3% lifesteal at 3 points, which is nice, I mean you get some health just from auto attacking. This combined with Vampiric Sceptor + x2 Doran's Blade as i mentioned earlier can really help you in lane if you're damaged.
Sunder: This gives you +6 armor penetration at 3 points, which is nearly half of how much armor you receive from your runes. It allows for better harass and auto attacking the opposing AD carry.
Executioner: This increases your damage dealt by 6% when a target is below 40% health and this scales tremendously with your Taste Their Fear, it allows you to execute targets better in the laning phase and teamfights even if they are out of range by using your Leap
Standard AD carry offensive masteries placement. The reason for that is you benefit from all the stats that are given. The other offensive masteries is damage intended for Ability Power champions, and Kha'Zix certainly doesn't need to completely fill in points for the Defensive and Utility masteries. Also, Executioner (last offensive mastery) it huge for your role, as you do tend to clean up a lot.
Hardiness: This gives you 6 armor if you put 3 points in. This on top of your runes, passive, and high base armor? It makes trading with you even more difficult!
Resistance: This is just the best in slot giving 2 magic resist at level 1, better than taking less damage in minions or putting a point in something that improves a summoner spell you're not using.
Durability: This gives 6 health per level (108 health at level 18) at 4 points in. This combined with your armor/magic resistance can make you more tanky than other AD carry, and gives you more overall survivability.
Veteran Scars: If you place one point into this, you receive 30 health. 30 health is nice for the laning phase, again like Durability, combined with your passive can make you more tankier.
Why defensive mastieries? Because Kha'zix already had such an advantage in lane (harassment, innate tankyness), with your runes and masteries on top of this, it's very difficult to be forced out of lane.
together with ignite will secure you some easy kills early game. It will help you get away safely without getting into th risk of dying. Lets dont forget that as Taste Their Fear is a lovely finisher , combine that with ignite and you are set to go and dominate the game.
Not bad, Not bad at all if u consider that u can cahse own enemies while avoiding ganks together with your Leap
Havent tried that to Kha' Zix but ithink it can be a life/turret saver at times
Definitely yea but in my opinion flash is more viable than exhaust BUT it is up to the way you decide to play
I cant think about any other summoner spell to pair up with khazix except Ignite ofcourse if u are going to jungle but i am open to your comments.
Tips and tricks
[*] Try to land your Taste Their Fear when your opponent is at low health so as to benefit from the 12% missing health extra damage
[*] Save your Leap for when the right time comes for you to gank or to escape since it has a long cd but also use it wisely to jump through walls
[*] Farm, Farm and MORE farm. Thats the key word to a good game where you can slice down your opponents in seconds
[*]Use your Void Spike to farm as much as you can
[*] your role is not to initiate, let the tank do that and then you are ready to assasinate squishies
Jungling as kha'zix
Jungling as Kha'Zix will help you
+ relieve the pressure of your team mates in lanes
+ allow you to have more control over both blue and red buffs
+ helps you make ganks
+ and save teammates from dying
The basic outline of the jungle is illustrated above.
First of all we should decide which summoner spells to take. Definitely the first one will be .Smite will allow you to kill faster minions in the jungle especially the blue buff early game and why not make some epic baron steals?. Your second summoner spell will be chosen depending on the style you want to play your wasp. I generally prefer to get for increased survivability but if you see that the enemy team lacks the damage or you are confident enough why dont go for so as to boost your ganks and get you some kills to buy your items? You can also choose to get Heal as your secondary summoner spell butidont think is necessary
Items for jungling.
First you should start up with Cloth Armor and three Health Potions. First start by going to the blue buff and if the enemy team doesnt have a jungler there is high chance all of the enemy team will show up to prevent your jungling progression so tell your team to be as near as possible and a leash is always helpfull.As for first spell you choose Taste Their Fear
and most importantly kill the small ones first and THEN the buff itself to benefit from the extra damage
So once you take down blue down, move to the wolves and then if you have enough health and mana left, why not kill wraiths? On your first time back to base, get Madred’s Razors and then convert it to Wriggle’s Lantern as soon as possible (after upgrading your boots). Wriggle’s lantern will give you extra lifesteal and has a chance to do high damage on minions.Once you return to the jungle head to the red buff, by now you should be level 2-3. Take Void Spike as your second ability for the heal, at level 3 make sure that you have one point in each ability
So once you reach level 6 evolve your ulti and now you are set to go and gank. Prioritize the lanes where the enemies push or when there are 2 ore more enemies in a particular lane. So as you keep a balance between ganks and jungle , for each jungle route you make meaning
GANK and more gank.If you dont then its as if the game is 4v5, always keep that in mind.
Try to rush Madred's Razors and then the Wriggle's Lantern and then continue with Heart of Gold after you get Mercury's Treads since jungling is all about early game. What is more you can promote your Madred's Razors to Madred's Bloodrazor if you dont want to sell it but again up to you. The Brutalizer, The Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge are a must and you can replace Frozen Mallet with Guardian Angel if u want and also Maw of Malmortius is a great item to consider as well
FOR ABILITY SEQUENCE TRY
This ability is chosen and maxed first due to the damage it has to offer and most importantly remember that you have to kill the small minions first so as to deal increased damage to the big ones
Unlike when you are laning where you can use your Void Spike to farm up efficiently huge minion waves in our jungling build i insist you to max Leap second so as you have the leap as a way to help you and your team to gank efficiently.
This is what we max last since as a jungler you dont need it that much early game but still it has a role to play since it can help you haras your opponents from a distance, help you farm but also slow enemies down as they try to run.
Evolving your Ulti as a Jungler
You first evolve your since this ability is your main weapon of dealing huge damage and also to be able to nuke the dragon at lvls 9-10 which is very difficult with any other champion. the 12% missing health bonus damage will also help you to finish off champions you see entering your jungle and help you gank.
Secondly you evolve . the increased range and reduced CD you get once you evolve this is unbelievable and can turn the game upside down with efficient ganks and knowing when and where to use it is the key.
Lastly you should max So as you can get a third use of your ulti and tunr you red so as you can slow even more runing opponents and to perform some nice jukes while trying to escape some nasty ganks that the enemy team can set up for you.
Synopsis of jungling evolution
Baron Steals As you may already know smite is almost useless late game...or thats what people think?? :) Ward baron and in any case you think you can baron steal why not give it a go. You will both get the credits for your epic job and you and your team will have a powerful buff.
AS i mentioned above you should first evolve your Taste Their Fear so as you benefit from the increased range and by the 12% missing health. After that comes the tough part since you need to consider many things. If you evolve your Void Spike it means you will have a greater efficiency in farming but a lower efficiency in ganks since the range of your Leap would be low and you will be missing out on many kills.... and trust me thats bad. What you need to consider is wether you are farming well without the need of your evolved Void Spike. If the answer is yes then go for Leap. So you reached level 16 and its ur third evolvement and ur finall unfortunately. Evolving your ulti will allow you to benefit from your ulti onemore time but is it really worth it? Look at the increased range that an evolved Void Spike has to offer. I would definitely go for that unless i want to have the sexy red look of Kha'Zix
If you have actually read the lore, Kha'Zix wishes to kill Rengar and if he does... guess what... YOU actually get a @@@ 4TH EVOLUTION @@@ so you become the best predator you ever wished to be!!! So once you see a rengar dont hesitate to slit him open.....
Combos / ability priority
your basic combo will be
Autoattack to trigger your passive . Follow up with then so as you can heal some life especially early game since its very vital and then repeat. If you see your opponent trying to escape dont hesitate to use your ulti to gain movement speed and the slow to ensure the kill
your role in team fights is to sit back and wait for the right opportunity to strike so as you can score some easy kills for your team. just dont overextend and let your tank go in. It is not bad either to try and get some turrets down time to time since that will help you win the game in the long run. Here is my latest match history with khazix.
The numbers are not that clear but they can barely be seen
This video belongs to Iswisha who actually uploaded it on youtube. I chose this particular pentakill because i liked the way it was executed. Enjoy
A vicious Void predator, Kha'Zix infiltrated Valoran to devour the land's most promising creatures. With each kill he absorbs his prey's strength, evolving to grow more powerful. Kha'Zix hungers most to conquer and consume Rengar, the one beast he considers his equal.
When Kha'Zix crossed over into this world, he was fragile and ravenous. The animals he first encountered were too small to fuel the rapid evolution he craved. Kha'Zix focused his hunger on the most dangerous creatures he could find, risking his life to satisfy his need. With each kill he feasted and changed, becoming a stronger, faster predator. Kha'Zix soon chased his prey with unrestrained aggression, believing he was unstoppable. One day, while savoring a fresh kill, the predator became the prey. From cover a creature pounced in a blur of fangs and steel, tackling him to the ground. It roared in his face slashing and clawing, and Kha'Zix felt his blood spill for the first time. Screeching in fury, he sliced at the brute's eye driving it back. They fought from sunset to sunrise. Finally, near death, they reluctantly separated. As his wounds closed, Kha'Zix burned with anticipation at the idea of devouring one who could match the Void's strength. He resumed his search for powerful prey with renewed vigor. Someday, Kha'Zix will feast on Rengar.
Kha ' Zix can be devastating to the enemy team if played right. It can turn whole games upside down.This build is not 100 % right, you can provide me with some feedback on what to change, add and you can test out things and let me know. Until then have fun :) and thanks for reading...
