BIG OLE WORK IN PROGRESS GUIDE!
Introduction
Alright, ladies and gents, welcome to my first ever guide on MOBAFire: Thresh, the Hybrid Carry from Hell. In this guide, I'll do my best to teach you how to wreck top lane, harvest the souls of your enemies, and bring enough CC to a teamfight to make even Blitzcrank cry.
"But Oswin, you've got nothing but AD in your build, how can you call him a hybrid?" you ask? Well, it's simple really. Even with all AD items, almost exactly half of Thresh's damage will come from the passive on Death Sentence. But we'll get into that later.
This guide will focus on dealing most of his damage with his autoattacks and Death Sentence's passive, and using your abilities mainly for CC (while still racking up a decent amount of Ability Power through Damnation to do a decent amount of damage with them). I feel Thresh as a top lane champion is very item dependent, and a Summoner must always be mindful about building a balance between damage and survivability.
I've seen a lot of people immediately dismiss Thresh as a pure support character with no other viable roles even though Riot designed him to be a top laner as well (and who knows, that might be entirely true at higher Leagues/ELOs). However, he is a GREAT counterpick, in my opinion, to many popular top lane champions, and is almost impossible to build resistances against.
So, without further ado, let's get started.

Runes
Runes
So, Runes. I like to run with Greater Mark of Attack Damage for early AD to help your Death Sentence, last hitting, and sheer damage. I wouldn't recommend taking any different Marks over these ones.
For Seals, we go for Greater Seal of Armor to help shield against minion damage and enemy attacks. If you know you're going to be going against an AP champion, like Vladimir, feel free to swap these out for Greater Seal of Magic Resist or Greater Seal of Scaling Magic Resist, as your passive, Damnation, will be giving you lots of Armor throughout the game.
For Glyphs, we go for Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist. I feel like these are completely necessary for Thresh because he excels at mid-to-late game. I wouldn't recommend swapping these for any other Glyphs.
