Hey all Hyphs here and this is my build/guide to Vi, The Piltover Enforcer ! This is my first guide here on mobafire so be nice.
Feedback is always welcome :D
Now this is guide isn't one to say YOU MUST BUILD THIS OR YOU WILL FAIL! So don't worry.
Everything these days is personal preference or either what you are playing against.
I will be adding a lot more to this as I can, any suggestions would be great. I hope to get some more jungle games done with her and do more to a jungle part with her but until then I can't put much up about that .
Pros / Cons
+ Amazing lane push
+ Great initiator
+ Passive grants shield
+ Very fun to play
- Mana issues if you like to spam
- Her Q gets ruined by CC
- Targeted because she is new
- Some times her E can miss you CS or push lane to quick
Flash - Is always a great choice, It's an Escape or a gap closer. Although Vi already has two. It can be subbed out with ghost/exhaust. This is all depending on play stlye.
Ignite - What isn't good about this spell? Reduces healing and Can land you a kill if your not sure you are going to pick one up
Exhaust - Also a great pick slows movement/reduces damage and attack speed
Ghost - I don't usually take this but it works really it's just if you prefer this over flash.
Heal - Now I never take this BUT it is good to bait people into thinking they can kill to you and then end up with a kill but it is pretty scrubby so I don't take it.
Smite - ONLY if you are jungle. If you are it is a must.
Teleport - Good if solo top and pushing other lanes.
Barrier - This is good if you are new and want that extra shield to help save you.
Garrison - MAYBE in dominion otherwise no.
Clairvoyance - Leave this for support although most supports still don't take it.
Cleanse - I can't say much about this spell because I have never really used it, but it can work I guess, for Vi I would say this is a pass.
Revive - Sure if you want to piss people off
Clarity - Just no
Now here I will go into why and what each item is good for.
Mercury's Treads - Boots I usually go with tenacity is great good against AP teams.
Ninja Tabi - I use these against heavy AD teams
Ionian Boots of Lucidity - Go these if you feel you have snowballed well and you feel as your not getting aimed.
Beserker's Greaves - Pick these up if you want to go more of a glass cannon.
Boots of Swiftness - Great for moving through the jungle faster. Helps with your Q since it slows your movement. [Thanks for the tip Mr Gull]
Boots of Mobility - I wouldn't take these over any other boots just because all the others have more beneficial stats, maybe in dominion.
Boots of Speed - You need to move quicker.
Phage - Boots your shield gives you a on hit slow and some AD
The Brutalizer - Gives a good amount of damage 10% CDR is very nice for Vi and the ARP
is great. This is a must.
The Black Cleaver - I can stress how good this item is all the stats and the extra armor reduction stacking with your W is just oh so sexy.
Trinity Force - TONS OF DAMAGE hehe, a lot of beneficial stats for Vi on this item a good pick if you are going more damage than tankyness.
The Bloodthirster - A great pick it will boost your survivability a chunk.
Phantom Dancer - Amazing for getting your W onto your target and if you have a Black Cleaver getting those stacks up works very well with a Bloodthirster.
Iceborn Gauntlet - I would say this is a decent item to pick up all around beneficial stats and a AoE slow.
Zephyr - Little bit of damage with a good amount of ASP, The movement speed is good for chasing targets down and Tenacity is always good to have.
Wits End - One of the best items I have used on her yet, the stacking MR and attack speed just works very well. Good against a heavy AP team.
Frozen Mallet - Gives you health a slow, great if you want to go a bit tankier instead of upgrading your phage into Tri Force. Also gives you extra on your shield
Randuin's Omen - Works good against a heavy AD team. Attacker's attack speed is slowed and gives you a active slow.
Sunfire Cape - Grab this if the other team has a lot of AD the armor is good gives you passive damage and the extra health boosts your shield.
Warmog's Armor - Gives you a ton of health and a great boost to your passive.
Maw of Malmortius - Awesome to buy against a heavy AP team, Gain a shield which absorbs magic damage and gain AD on how low your health is.
Mercurial Scmitar - This item can save you many many times. A must against heavy cc teams, also more damage!
Guardian Angel - An extra life!! every 5 mins
Enchantment: Furor - Grab this if you feel people are just getting away from you.
Enchantment: Alacrity - Good if you find your self roaming a lot.
Enchantment: Homeguard - Awesome to quickly regen and give you that extra boost to get into lane.
JUNGLE SPECIFIC ITEMS
Wriggle's Lantern - I usually pick this mainly for the lifesteal works well with the attack speed off your W or off any ASP items you buy. Also the extra ward is amazing.
Spirit of the Ancient Golem - This item works well with Vi because of the extra health and it give tenacity, Pick this up if you need the health and you haven't grabbed merc treads or zephyr.
Spirit of the lizard elder - Pretty much same as the one above just a damage version without tenacity and makes your attacks deal a little bit of true damage over time.

Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
Why these runes?
Greater Mark of Attack Damage - Boosts your damage. Pretty straight forward!
Greater Seal of Armor - Helps boost your defense also self explanatory
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist - That little bit more mr could help you live.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage - because you want to break faces that's why!
Blast Shield - Your passive - Activates a shield when you use an ability bases on how much HP you have, Has a cooldown.
Vault Breaker - Charges a punch the carries you forward the longer you charge this the more damage it does. Applys your W to targets hit and knocking them back.
Great skill for initiating or escaping works over walls. Max this second
Denting Blows - On 3rd attack on the same target deals damage based on maximum health and reduces there armor while giving you extra attack speed. I max it last
Excessive Force - On your next basic attack it sends a wave behind the target hit. Use this as you main poke skill and your burst. Max this first
Assault and Battery - Charge at an enemy knocking them up, While charging you are imune to CC and dealing damage on the way through who you pass.
This is a great initiate, This ult can change fights if you on the right person. Get this when ever possible
Here I will put a few tips and tricks on what to do while your in lane phase.
Now if you have came this far into the guide and you are reading this you are looking to play Vi as solo top, this is where Vi kills it and if played properly can destroy anyone you come against.
- If you decide to try kill your enemy try make sure you have 2 stacks of your E ready
- Avoid stuns/pulls etc when charging your Q early, as getting CC'ed while charging will instantly put it on cooldown and your escape is gone if you don't have flash up.
- Use your E to farm creeps as best as possible but try not to over push the lane and open your self up for a free gank/kill
- Vi can roam and gank very well so when you can go help gank a lane, it will help out a lot.

I WILL BE ADDING A FEW MORE CHAPTERS Mainly on Lane phases/Jungling/Ganking etc but I would like to get a fair few more games done with her so I can go a little more in depth.
