Introduction

Well this is my first build and I hope it helps. This guide focus' on farming and getting money. However, there are many ways to play Morgana and this is only one of them.

Skill Sequence

I try to max out Tormented Shadow as soon as possible, then Dark Binding lastly max out Black Shield. The reason I only get one point in Black Shield is because you are using it as a cc counter not a shield. Tormented Shadow gives you a good amount of money and experience early on(that is, if your farming well), as well as keeping your enemies bit far off. Try to place your Tormented Shadow between the caster and melee minion, but if you cant, target the caster minions for gods sake. Dark Binding is important for escaping and chasing enemies.

Optional Skill Sequence

If you are doing well you may want to consider getting your Black Shield at level 4 instead of level 3, so you can farm better without worrying about ganks and getting killed.

Runes

Defensive and Spell spamming rune set.

I get greater mark of knowledge for a good amount of Mana. I get greater seal of knowledge for more mana regen. Then I get Greater Glyph of Mana for even MORE mana. Lastly I get Greater Quintessence of Mana for a nice amount of health and mana regen.

Aggressive rune set

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration gives you a good amount of magic pen. Greater Seal of Ability Power gives you your much needed ability power. Greater Glyph of Magic Penetration for more magic pen :). And lastly Greater Quintessence of Ability Power for a nice amount of ap.

Items

First I like to start off with a Sapphire Crystal for mana. Then I get Meki Pendant for mana regen and a Health Potion for survivability. After getting these items you should go after Sorcerer's Shoes which are one of the most important items in this build, why?
Because without boots you will move too slow to chase OR run from enemies, secondly the magic Penn. is clearly the best choice for an AP caster. Then get Morello's Evil Tome for some AP and decent mana regen, but most importantly 20% cooldown reduction. next its time for you to grab Rabadon's Deathcap for a godlike amount of AP and Archangel's Staff after that for a nice amount of AP, Mana, and Mana regen. Lastly you should get Zhonya's Hourglass for a nice amount of armor and AP.

Optional Items

Aggressive Item Build (core)[build#1]

With this item build, you should be able to do massive amounts of damage to your enemies, just remember not to get greedy. I personally prefer this build over the balanced build, however only use this build if you know your going to win, this only helps you have a firmer grip on the game.

Summoner Spells

Recommended
Flash-
Teleports your champion to cursor's location.

Very nice for escaping and chasing. I don't know how many times this thing has saved me.

Ignite-
Ignites an enemy unit, dealing 50 plus 20 x level true damage over time to a single target, reduces the health regeneration and the healing effects received by 50%.

I don't know why but people usually run away with about 70-80 health, finish them with this.

Good Summoner Spells

Teleport-
After 4 seconds, it teleports your champion to target turret or friendly minion (making it invulnerable for the duration). Can be canceled.

If you want to leave your lane and be able to get back instantly. This is the spell for you.

Ghost-
Your Champion ignores unit collision and moves 27% faster for 10 seconds.

Very good for escaping/chasing.

Heal-
Restores 140 + (lvl x 20) Health to your Champion and 50% of that to nearby allies. All targets healed will have a 50% reduction in heal amount from other summoner heal spells for 20 secs.
AoE range: 600

I never use this spell personally, but it can be good for beginners.

Exhaust-
Reduces a target's Attack Damage by 70%, Ability/Item damage by 35% and slows its Movement Speed by 40% for 3 seconds.
Cast range: 500 (estimate)

Good for pinning down enemies, can be used to lessen ad/ap carry damage output in team fights.

Clairvoyance-
Reveals an area of the map for 6 seconds (castable anywhere).

Very good for scouting bushes, escaping ganks etc.

BAD Summoner Spells

Revive-
Why miss out on flash or ignite those might SAVE you the trouble using this piece of trash.

Smite-
Your not in the jungle are you?

Cleanse-
Don't you have black shield?

Fortify-
This only prolongs the enemy for a couple of seconds.
(removed no longer exists)

Clarity-
Don't you have mana regen?

Rally-
...

Cons-
-focused on a lot in team fights
-build is expensive
-squishy
-gankable if Black Shield is on CD

Early Game

Start out with a Doran's Ring for some regen and health and one health potion for survivability. Head to bottom lane and get ready to farm. When minions spawn place your tormented soil between the caster and melee minions. If you have to chose between one of the, get the casters. Try to place your Tormented Shadow on the minions and champions. When you reach level 2 get Dark Binding and farm up 390 gold(btw, don't use your potion yet). When you have the money go back and get Meki Pendant for mana regen. Now start harassing the enemy champions and farming up some minions. Keep farming 'til you have 1100 gold and make it hell for the other team to get you out of there lane, don't go back until you have about 100-200 health left. When you get back get your sorc's shoes and head back to your lane. Now get back into your lane and keep on leveling and harassing the enemies. when you reach level 6 you should start looking for ganks. If you do find a good gank (casters with about 1/2 health), go in there and drop Dark Binding on them, then Tormented Shadow, and lastly your ult. if there not dead them Ignite them. If their STILL not dead then it was a bad gank or ganking target. Now go back to your lane and keep on farming minions and harassing your enemies. When you reach about half health, use your potion. Try staying in your lane as long as possible so your enemies are kept at bay from your turrets. Now if your dieing and running to your turret and your enemy follows too greedy for a kill, punish them for it. Land dark binding followed up by Tormented Shadow and lastly your ult, by now they should be dead.

Mid Game

Before heading to mid game, you have to have the following; at least one kill, and Morello's Evil Tome for cool down reduction and mana regen. Again look for some good ganks, if you see one go over there and kill the enemy with the same combo you used earlier. At this point of the game, you should be focus on leveling by farming minion waves with Tormented Shadow(At level 4 Tormented Shadow will wipe out caster minions). If blue buff is up GET IT, you need the mana regen. If you get the buff, go back to your lane asap. If you want to, you can get the red buff, but its not that important. Try to get your team to ward the jungle so its harder to get ganked. Mid game is a very important stage of the game 'cus what you do is farm farm farm to get Rabadon's Deathcap. Try to get your team to get dragon and baron for gold and buff. Try to play carefully, because the last thing you and your team need is a fed enemy champion. Try to get as many kills as you can while not being reckless and turret diving. Before heading to late game, try to have about 2000 gold.

Late Game

At this time, it will be mostly team fights, try to shield the carry on your team and land Dark Binding on the enemies. If you can, drop Tormented Shadow on the enemy minions for some gold. When you can, go and buy Archangel's Staff for a good amount of mana and mana regen. Try to assist your team by; snaring enemies, shielding teamates, and most importantly DON'T DIE. If the game isn't over, get Zhonya's Hourglass or some AP and armor. Try getting buffs and dragon and Baron for your team, they'll love you for it.

Team Work

1. When in a team fight, don't be greedy and shield yourself. Shield your team carry or tank with Black Shield.

2. If your teammate is dying, SHIELD HIM.

3. If one of your teammates is running for his ***, use dark binding on the foe, and shield him, unless he's screwed and there's nothing you can do.

4. If one of your teammates is doing extremely well, offer to get him one of the buffs, that will help you win the game.

5. Get your team to ward the jungle, it doesn't do any good for you or one of your friends to get ganked and killed.

6. If you can, ask one of your teammates to help you get dragon at around level 8-9, so you guys can have a head start in the game.

7. Around level 15-16 get 4-5 of your teammates together to get baron for the buff and some money.

8. Be a jack-*** and steal the other teams dragons and baron, get in there use Tormented Shadow and Dark Binding to finish of the beast and use your Flash to GTFO of there.

Being smart

With Morgana you don't want to use your ulti in vain, if your trying to stun some one with your ulti, check if they have cleanse, or if their Gangplank eating fruit and running like a little *****, in other words DON'T WASTE YOUR ULTI especially on low lvls when it has a long cd.
