Hi, I am mappings. I avidly play Vayne. She is the most beast ADC in the entire game.... beside Gangplank, he's sick as hell. I am currently floating around 1500~ elo. I consider myself a very good ADC and know I play around a 1600 skill level. This is my Vayne guide.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Mark of Attack Damage: Makes last hitting a ton easier, and helps you with harassing in lane.
Greater Seal of Armor: Makes you more durable, you can take more hits and tank minion shots better.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist: You can take more harass from their support and if their mid lane roams, they will have a harder time killing you.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage: All ADCs need these. Helps you last hit, 9x Greater Mark of Attack Damage gives you the same amount as 3x Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
The masteries are pretty self-explanatory, just 21/9/0. Most carrys will always have 21/9/0 specing in either AD or AP.
You can also go 19/11 if you're against an aggressive support such as Taric or Leona. 19/11 is also optimal when you're facing Graves and Corki.
If you are taking Exhaust, Ghost, or Ignite, I would reccomend taking Summoner's Wrath .
If you absolutely must take heal, take Summoner's Resolve .
It is possible to go 21/0/9 if you are going to be spamming spells, take 3 point into Expanded Mind , Meditation and 1 into Summoner's Insight , Swiftness and Runic Affinity .
Boots of Speed + 3x Health Potion Normal start for pretty much every champion... sustain + extra mobility
Gives HP, AD and health back on hit. Good early game items as it gives a lot of what you need.
Sustain, AD and builds into BT. Pretty much early game core on all ADCs.
The only boots that you SHOULD be buying on Vayne, it gives her an early boost of AS and ups her damage / procs from Silver Bolts
|Silver Bolts and crit chance to hit even harder.|
|The Black Cleaver at 170~ armor. Also gives AD which will boost your DPS.|
|Blood Boil ... you'll be the best chaser ever.|
You can grab either Quicksilver Sash or Guardian Angel depending on whether they have suppresses (QSS) or are focusing you really hard(GA).
The Bloodthirster and Infinity Edge are just normal items for ADCs in general. IE for crit and extra crit damage, BT for sustain and large amounts of AD.
For your last item you can choose between Infinity Edge Last Whisper or The Black Cleaver.
IE if they already have really high armor so you will need LW or BC.
LW if they have relatively low armor for most of the game.
BC if they have really really low armor late game (170 or lower).
Trinity Force - NO LONGER VIABLE ON VAYNE DUE TO HIGH COST + NERFS + NERFS TO NUNU
Warmog's Armor - Rekkles from FnaticRC, the champions of dreamhack, debuted this item on Vayne. You can pick this up as your defensive item if you are
A. Confident in your positioning
B. Their team has mediocre burst
or C. You are a ****ing pro.
He also replied to a question asking about it here. It further explains why he took it.
Remember that late game you should always buy elixirs especially for those deciding fights at baron .
R > W > Q > E
Max Silver Bolts first because it's strong as hell. Max Tumble second since it lowers the CD and help you do more damage and you can kite better. Condemn third and then ult. No need to explain that.
Vayne's passive + her ult + tumble is AMAZING for chasing down targets. There is no running from a Vayne with all her abilities and flash.
Vayne's ult Final Hour is one of the main reasons why you can buy PD and not have any setbacks at all. It provides about a BF sword worth of damage and makes you stealth when you team just to make you even more insane.
Flash - Since you lack a reliable escape you NEED flash. It will help you get out of so many bad situations, it's just plain op.
Cleanse - I usually run this on most ADCs. I especially remember to use it if I'm against
Exhaust - I never really take this on Vayne, but it gives good 1v1 potential. Usually your support would take this.
Ghost - You can take this if for some reason you either don't want flash or want ghost and flash.
Ignite - This is a pretty good summoner if you're going aggressive bot lane but Vayne has to be passive, so there is no reason to take it.
Heal - Heal has kind of fallen out of favor since it no longer heals a large amount. You can still take this if you want to heal bait people.
Teleport - I'm really not sure why you would take it. Possibly you could if you were running a teleport comp of some kind or if you want to go top lane Vayne.
Clarity - no
Clairvoyance - Nobody really takes this anymore, it's almost useless in soloQ since nobody really bothers to use it correctly. If you want it, let your support take it.
Promote - There was a youtube video of a 2k elo player taking promote on Ashe, and while he and his team were top, his promoted minion got them two turrets and an inhib. It is still pretty bad to take it.
Smite - Are you jungling? If so, take it. If not... no.
Surge - Some people seem to think surge is good on ADCs for the AS but it's really not all that great. All it does is make you a bigger target and gives you some useless ap and a little AS.
Revive - The best summoner in the game. Take it every time.
Simple. Just don't pick Vayne versus Graves. You will get your *** kicked inside out. His armor / MR buff + Taric armor buff can give him up to 120 free armor and he has a strong early game so he will just **** all over you. REMEMBER - buckshot does a lot less damage if you're further away from him.
Pretty much the same as Graves, but this guy has armor shred and a lot of long range harass. Corki also has HUGE burst mid game so you will have to be careful and try not to engage on him unless you are far ahead.
Long range, good escape, AA modifier, execution ult. This girl will be your literal worst nightmare in lane. If you throw a Nunu support in with her, you have the most terror lane for all weak early lane people. You will have to sit and farm until late game VS Cait unless you get a lead.
Outdamages Vayne hard in lane if he catches axes which are also good for harass. If she gets harassed in lane, she will be 50cs behind or so and get ran over.
If Draven has a Taric, Leona or Blitzcrank you're probably done for.
Every time you come in to take a cs as Vayne, Kog'Maw will just turn on his W and hit you 2 or 3 times. If you want to retaliate, you'll eat his slow and even more auto attacks. Late game, with 6 items, he will still do more damage than you. This is simply a losing matchup. You will need to be able to kill him mid-game since his is quite weak and yours should be ok if you manage not to feed him 5 kills.
Should be pretty easy, tumble out of E and Q and farm botlane passively. You can go aggro around level 9 and be ready to outplay him if you don't have cleanse or QSS. You can outdamage him if you manage to dodge his ult and Q (or E if he's maxing that.) Otherwise, this is a bad matchup. If you cannot dodge his spell you will die in lane a lot.
This is one of the most dumb matchups anyone could of thought up. MF outpokes, outtrades and outranges you. If the MF is of equal skill level to you, you will lose. Just try not to get engaged on or you will lose.
Easy. Silver bolts make it impossible for her to trade with you post 6. Pre 6 she will out damage you with her Q unless you can dodge it or have a CC support. She can spell shield your E but if she does your support will have an opening to stun / cc her.
Now that Ez no longer has an attack speed debuff he is relatively easy for you to win against. Dodge his Q with your tumble and you will win trades. You can also force a disengage with your E.
She has a worse laning phase than you do and you get a better reward for yours. Post 6 she will try to ult and kill you but you will have cleanse so you can kill her easily. She has close to no damage until she gets IE + Zeal and you will have more damage than her at that point. One of the easiest matchups you could ask for.
Kind of like Kog'Maw but she cannot outdamage you in lane or outside of lane. She has really long range so if you can't get near her, you will probably die. You have to be near her to fight her late game. Tristana's mid game is complete trash and you can fight her whenever you want throughout it.
You can fight him in lane, just dodge his slow and don't get CCd. If you get CCd by his support or jungler, you will lose the fight. This is mostly a skill matchup but isn't overly hard so I put it down in the easy matchups.
Good supports for Vayne
Vayne's E + this guy's CC is sooo strong. He is also tanky and has a heal so he's pretty much the perfect support for her.
Pull > Powerfist > Condemn combo is op. Blitz pulls, knocks them up and then you stun them into the wall. This combo is even better vs the squishier carries.
My favorite support to have when I play Vayne. Late game she scales insanely well with AS and MS. Early, you will be a bit lacking but once you get going, you'll be unstoppable.
Pretty good lane combo, take him if you're against a strong early game carry so you wont take as much damage due to his heal, armor buff and stun. Once their ADC makes a mistake, taric goes in for the stun and you follow up with yours. Free kill.
Leona is very strong with Vayne because of her CC. She has 3 stuns and a slow. Her passive also gives you extra damage + leona does good damage early as well.
Zoning in lane
What is zoning? Zoning means to force enemy champions away from their minions, denying them gold and XP. You do this by creating a "zone" of control with your champion and kit.
In lane, Vayne can actually zone many ADCs. If you look about two chapters up, "The Good" matchups are the ones that you can zone the hardest.
During laning phase, if you have a lead on someone, keep trying to get 3 AAs in which will completely zone them out from CSing. In doing this, you're pretty much giving yourself a free win.
This guide is pretty decent and should teach you what you need to know.
Vayne & her counters
There is little you can do to a late game Vayne. FH + Randuins will completely shut down Vayne. Her attack speed and move speed will be so low you wont be able to do anything.
Exhaust will also shut her down late, but it shouldn't be too bad since you will have QSS or cleanse.
AoEs / hard CC will be impossible for you to escape and if you get caught in an AoE ( Soul Shackles, Command: Shockwave, Unstoppable Force, Curse of the Sad Mummy) you will probably die, unless you have some insane kiting skills or are just super lucky they decided to kill your teammates and let you go.
Early harrass will also set Vayne back and can **** over your early - mid game. As long as you're good at csing and aren't behind more than 30, you should be able to still have a great late game.
Oracles is also quite annoying while playing Vayne. When you tumble with your ult up, you will go invisible. When someone on the enemy team has oracles and you try to tumble behind them, they will be able to kill you easily.
