Xin Zhao - Perish with honor

Xin Zhao is a great farmer as long as he focuses on the minons, hes W Battle Cry makes him farm faster and hes Q Three Talon Strike deals increased damage on hes 3 next attacks, can also be based on enemies!

Whenever Jarvan III, the king of Demacia, delivers one of his rallying speeches from the glinting marble balcony atop the Royal Palace, Xin Zhao is at his side. Coined the Seneschal of Demacia, Xin Zhao is the personal steward of the Lightshield Dynasty. His enigmatic, silent vigil has led to an abundance of conjecture concerning his “secret life” and origins. Whether it’s "Zaun double-agent" tendered at the dinner table or "indebted rune mage" mused in the editorials of the Demacian Constant, Xin Zhao betrays no hints to sate the curiosity of the masses…for good reason.

Prior to the formation of the League, Noxus was renowned for a spectacle called The Fleshing. It was a gladiatorial event with a cruel twist: as a fighter won matches, his number of opponents (generally prisoners of war) fought simultaneously would increase. This meant eventual death for every contender, but with unparalleled glory. Xin Zhao, known then as Viscero, was slated to face 300 soldiers, nearly six times the previous record. This was clearly meant to be his final match. Jarvan II, hearing of this unprecedented feat, infiltrated the arena to offer him an alternative: serve Demacia and punish those who ultimately sentenced him to death in exchange for his freedom. Xin Zhao accepted, astonished that a king would risk his own life on his behalf. Under the cover of a prearranged Demacian assault on Noxus, Jarvan liberated Xin Zhao and his 300 opponents. During their retreat, Xin Zhao took a poisoned dart meant for Jarvan. This act of loyalty, from a man who vowed no allegiance, earned Xin Zhao a spot at his side until the day the king died. Now in the service of his son, Jarvan III, Xin Zhao is stepping into a new ring – the Fields of Justice – to fight for his adopted country and to honor the legacy of the man who gave purpose to his life.

"Death is inevitable; one can only avoid defeat."

Why Xin Zhao?

Well simply just because he gives you the ability to play fun and serious at the same time. Xin zhao is a ''trough all the way'' a great champion. I've never heard any negative about him. He makes you struggle for real and anyways even if you suck the first time to play him, give him a chance i promise you will not regret playing him. He's a great lane keeper and solo player. Your build ofcause depends on which champion you play against on your lane. If you end up like playing against two champions on your lane, don't worry. Just stay in defense under tower and farm a lot. If so start on tanky items such as Frozen Mallet.
You will make the game much harder for the enemy, even if you feed you always got a chance to change the game. I played with xin zhao but got feeded, anyways i just kept farming on and on. After we approached midgame 30min, i was strong anoth to carry most of the team, I started out on 1/12/3 score. Ended up on 13/12/3 and won. People who underrestimate's him just regret playing against him when he makes the awesome comeback.

Always remember ''Never underrestimate Xin Xhao''

Playing as Xin zhao

Playing with his makes him a fast runner as he gets speed while staying close to minions even for chase or escape. Using his E in 1vs1 or 1vs2 is a great save. For hes escape combats he can also use it on minons. Using Q before walking in to combat gives a great hit on enemy as the damage deals faster (Q,E). Using his R in combat can be used for damaging the enemy team or either escape. Hes R is a great use on close fighting enemies. Be careful to use your R rather use it in highly needed situations than a waste. As i call it: KW=Key Waste

STARTGAME: Starting early game with xin zhao is a tough time. Xin zhao needs to farm as much as possible, as he can carry the whole team well, ofcause it also depends on the teamwork.

MIDGAME: In midgame you can begin to slowly walk over the map and help your teammates from feeding. As you do that ward your lane and stay awake as they can earn great cold on taking your tower wich we don't want.

ENDGAME: As soon as you got your full build don't worry, the only problem you got is; You have to know what your doing when you're in teamfights. You got to have a great playing team aswell.

Unique Skills

Always stick close to the enemy to deal maximum damage. Xin zhao can escape easily in teamfights but might also stay in combat, when he is a great fighter. Staying close combats 1v1 or 1v2 Xin zhao is a vicious champion. Using your spells in this order. (Q,E,W,''R'') makes him undefeated.

Skill usage

Battle Cry's passive heals Xin Zhao every three attacks, allowing him to sustain himself in lane for a while by autoattacking minion waves and turrets. Doing so for extended periods however will push your lane, so watch out for gank attempts.
You can reduce Crescent Sweep cooldown faster by spamming Three Talon Strike. However do take care of the mana cost early game, as you can easily run out of mana for a fight by continuously spamming Three Talon Strike too much.

Three Talon Strike resets the attack timer, so getting one basic attack off, then using the ability will yield a greater DPS.
The attack speed granted by Battle Cry is great for taking down turrets and minion waves, whilst also being extremely effective while jungling.
One should always have at least one point in Battle Cry early for the health restoration and attack speed.

Audacious Charge does magic damage and slows enemies surrounding the target; you can use that to your advantage by charging a nearby enemy in order to slow another just outside its range. This ability will also pop Banshee's Veil (or similar spell shields) on any of the affected targets which is extremely useful if your team has an incoming area of effect disable.
Bear in mind that if you use this tactic to jump to a priority target with Banshee's Veil, you will want to auto-attack them at least once before using Crescent Sweep in order to apply the Challenge debuff so that they aren't knocked away from you.

Try using Crescent Sweep where it will hit the most enemy champions. It will not only deal more damage, but greatly increase the armor and magic resistance bonus.
Xin Zhao is a great initiator. Lunge at a target with , Audacious Charge and use Crescent Sweep to do the most damage possible. If you can cast it while in the midst of the enemy team, it will also grant Xin Zhao a large amount of armor and magic resistance to survive in the fray.
To further increase the effectiveness of the initiation, try and aim your attacks specifically at a high value target such as the opposing carry before using Crescent Sweep as this will cause them to be Challenged, reducing their armor, separating them from their teammates and marking them for your allies.
Xin Zhao is an formidable ambush ganker. Battle Cry and Three Talon Strike make it very hard to immediately escape from him and deals high initial damage, and Audacious Charge makes it so that even targets with escapes can be chased effectively.
Xin Zhao is very good at tower diving enemy champions who are low on health, even at low levels; a combination of Crescent Sweep, Three Talon Strike and Battle Cry can grant you enough defense to survive the tower hits and damage to quickly slay your opponent.

Audacious Charge slows the enemy enough to be able to land your Three Talon Strike with almost complete success if they have no blink or dash ability, guaranteeing the knock up.
Xin Zhao is a good jungler with Battle Cry's passive effect and a great ganker with Audacious Charge and ]
Three Talon Strike after finishing his jungle route.
The best time to gank is when the enemy champion has recently used all their escape summoner spells such as Ghost and Flash (or abilities such as Arcane Shift or Rocket Jump).
It is best not to use all your crowd control at once, time each of your crowd control abilities with your ally allowing an easy kill when your enemy gets out of melee range you can then Audacious Charge to ensure your kill.

Crescent Sweep can assist in ganks by knocking enemies back towards your allies, but be sure that you are both in front of them and do not currently have your target Challenged before you do so.
Using Audacious Charge on a minion near the target enemy champion will prevent them from being Challenged, so that using Crescent Sweep will knock them back.
Audacious Charge can be used to escape ganks on some occasions by targeting a minion or a champion along your escape route. Combined with Flash, this can allow Xin Zhao to escape most unfavorable fights. Use it on an enemy across a wall for a clean escape (eg: throw ward across small golems wall, then dash to golems, whne they flash in or come around, flash is still available for use)
Crescent Sweep can be used to knock enemies away from you when trying to escape.
When attempting a retreat, ensure that your pursuer has not been Challenged first before using Crescent Sweep as otherwise it will have no effect on them.
Battle Cry's and Three Talon Strike can kill a tower very quickly in late game, as long as there are enough minions around to keep it from targeting Xin Zhao. However, if building AP, Xin Zhao's heal lets him sustain from tower attacks even without minions around him.

Runes

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

These runes are my usual setup for Xin Zhao. For marks, you want attack speed to get faster jungle clear in addition to being able to get your 3 Q procs off quickly when ganking. Armor is for early survival in the jungle and vs enemies. Magic resist helps you gank APs without taking as much damage early on. Movement speed (IMO the best quints for almost any jungler right now) are important for getting around as quickly as possible to as many lanes as possible. Other possibilities: Greater Mark of Attack Damage if you just want more damage on your ganks, Greater Seal of Health if you like health more than armor, Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist if you don't expect early magic damage (i.e your personal jungle route doesn't gank mid till after lvl 6) and Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed although I really recommend MS, because what you gain in clear speed from AS, you lose in time it takes to get to lanes.
