Haunting Guise is a good option if you're looking for a relatively cheap source of damage. You shouldn't ever upgrade it, though.

Game 60-62

Second time I've been on 97 LP in a division, second time I dodged a game earlier on the same day. Ritopls stop making me doubt my decisions.

Games we're quite onesided (with at least one lane snowballing in our favour every time), so I'll just share the post game chat of the last game instead of talking about them:

Wittróck: Annie definitely reporetd

Game 63-66

Reached series last Sunday while duo queueing with GMD, won lane as Sion vs Fizz and the rest of the team was ahead too. We then played the first game of the series, in which I was unable to deal with a strong/fed Wukong jungle, Irelia top and Talon mid in teamfights after we had a good laning phase (playing Sivir/ Thresh bot).

Randomly woke up way too early today, so decided to play the series out before having to go to university. The highlighted game was actually closer than it might look, as Annie and Jinx got caught quite often during the mid game, leading to the enemy team getting a couple of towers, a Dragon and even a Baron at one point. I was a little worried that this might allow Olaf and Ahri (who had lost lane pretty hard) back into the game and give Graves (who stayed even in bot) a chance to carry, but luckily we fixed it shortly after by winning a fight 4-0 despite them still having the Baron buff.

Last game was very onesided and only lasted ~25 minutes, so not much to say there. Promoted to Plat IV, shame I blew my chance to skip a division with the earlier losing spree but eh, I'll take it.

Congratulations and good luck climbing the ladder, Wayne.

P.s. How the hell did you win lane as Sion vs Fizz? (I'm assuming it was the bruiser Fizz)

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Congrats!

In the highlighted game, why did you prefer Warmog's Armor over Randuin's Omen, Spirit Visage or Banshee's Veil?

Thanks :)

First of all, as a bit of a sidenote I should mention I didn't take a jungle camp for level 2, because I usually take Raptors on purple side and was unsure how the damage nerf in 5.5 would affect this strategy. Some custom game tests later revealed that dying to this camp is indeed quite a bit slower; if you could share your thoughts on what you'd do right now that'd be cool (Only cheese if you can steal a buff? Take another camp? Don't start W?).

Anyway, the Fizz wasn't really a big problem, mostly because he fell behind in farm early and I stacked early health/MR to avoid dying to him (since I figured the main thing I had to prevent was him becoming a lot more useful than me later on by letting him snowball). He then Teleported bot where he got a kill but also died, which actually set him in back in experience because of how many minions he missed in top lane.

He became pretty strong past level 6 and forced me to back once + he got a kill on me during a gank, but I killed him in return shortly after so I was still pretty ahead overall :) I assume you think the matchup should be bad for Sion, but I can't say too much about that after this one game. It was heavily influenced by the fact this guy didn't seem to be a great player.

Congrats!

Cheers :]

Hmm, mainly because the rest of my build was severely lacking in health and I wasn't really looking for some of the stats that make the items you mentioned so good. To clarify, I already had the AS slow and CDR from Frozen Heart, and although the Banshee's Veil passive could've been useful my main target in teamfights was the Graves, so I wasn't very worried about needing more magic resistance. It should also be noted that two of the opponents had the ability to deal true damage, which health is the most efficient stat against.

I don't always make comparisons like that while in game though, a lot also depends on the amount of gold I base with and/or which components I have already (for example, I had a Giant's Belt and Warden's Mail at some point and I could've turned that into Randuin's Omen, but since I had enough gold to upgrade the Warden's to Frozen Heart I chose to do that instead).

Kudos for testing it out a bit before a ranked game. I didn't think of it until I was already at the camp and setup to take it, but I decided to roll with it see how it would go. xD The Raptors kill you much more slowly now. I had been leveling Decimating Smash and popping them with that twice as I had a big fail once when I tried it with Soul Furnace (still learning our reanimated friend).

Anyway, more testing required, but some options I will try are:
  • don't hit them with any abilities
  • go take a few turret shots first
  • shoot for taking an enemy buff

Why not just opt for krugs instead? Don't they deal more damage than the raptors?
If I helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

@ Vexroth

Using Q will still delay how fast you die though (because it takes longer for the raptors to attack again after being knocked up). The turret shot option also sounds very risky, might lead to one of the enemies following you into your jungle and ruining the strategy. It's probably best to use auto attacks only, I haven't tested how fast that is.

@ utopus

I don't think they used to (also because there are four raptors and only two krugs), but since the nerf they might, yeah. I tested raptors, wolves and red buff, so I'd have to get back to you on that after testing again or just comparing the numbers ;)
