I feel as if Teemo may have to be bumped a tier or two after seeing him a lot in almost every elo doing well. But take that with a grain of salt.

You're right. I actually intended on moving him up a tier, but I guess I never moved him up to B. He might be A now simply because games are so quick, but if the team actually gets into team-fights he's still pretty bad. I think B is a good middle ground. I don't want to encourage the Teemo's of the world too much

Agreed. Maybe when the pre-season ends he might drop down a tier.

Damn, that sure is a lot of work for a tier list, to literally make a note for every single champion (I think??). Not entirely sure what did you base this on, though, it's very biased. Like, while you do back it all up with clear explanations, so many of these are highly overrated, and many picks which are actually incredibly strong right now are rated so low.

Just to name an example (as there is a lot I disagree with), the fact that you rate Anivia as tier 1 while Orianna, one of the best mid laners right now and a much more versatile control mage is rated 2 tiers lower is quite questionable :p

That is a totally reasonable criticism. This is an undoubtedly biased tier list, mostly because I tried to generate the tiers without stealing much from other tier lists. That said, these tiers are really just my opinion at the end of the day, and I wouldn't call myself statistically rigorous. For the most part I placed champions in the S tier when I believed they fit the meta incredibly well, have strong builds, strong numbers, and can be played by the average player at an above average level.

Prior to the Orianna nerfs I would have absolutely placed Ori at S tier. Since they tuned her numbers down across the board she's much more about hitting good ults, and that just makes her more difficult to play. I think she can absolutely dominate a game, especially with the right team comp, but I think that in order to get everything out of her kit you really need to be comfortable with her unique mechanics. That said, I still placed her at A tier which is still excellent. When I designed my tiers I thought of it as a logarithmic power scale: Distance between S and A+ is minor, A+/A is small, A/B is moderate, B/C is large, C/D is massive.

I would happily have an Orianna on my team, I just took her out of S tier because I think she requires both mechanics and a favorable team to really shine.

Hello, nice list!
I'd just put Lulu in S Tier, I'm in Gold and she's pick or ban in every game I play.
I'm hurt from this situation, she's my main. ;-;
+1 from me by the way!

I love lulu too. She's A+ cause she fits the meta so incredibly well, but her kit is pretty dependent on game knowledge so I kept her out of S tier. That said, please keep playing Lulu. It's the lulu players of the world that make this game worth playing :)

I'll never going to stop playing her, I was thinking to get a tattoo of Lulu (still don't know what tho), maybe her hat and a quote of her.
I started playing her 3 years ago and I'm still in love with her.
I just wish that people would stop banning Lulu, this meta is killing me. ;-;

Can I just say your notes are a joy to read and you make great explanations for why you rank champs where, +1 from me! ^_^

Thanks! Just added him to A tier. Unfortunately they don't keep track of each champion for you. You the real MVP

Great list. Although I must say that Cho'gath feels like an S Tier, especially in low elo. So far, I've rarely come across a difficult lane.Depending on the build you're going for, the damage output is insane. Tons of damage, insane CC, but maybe he misses some of the mobility like most of the S Tier champs. Just stating my opinion as I've been playing him quite a lot now and it's really insane how easily you can snowball and carry the game.
Cheers!

Thanks for your response! I think Cho'Gath is very much dependent on a strong item build right now. By just stacking health you increase your crazy true-damage ult. I think he's quite strong right now, but I'm holding off on placing him in S tier for a couple reasons. He's really dependent on move-speed to really utilize his OP devour, and his kit is somewhat telegraphed because of his lack of mobility. Honestly, I think his silence is one of the strongest parts of his kit, and makes him really good against ability spammers like Riven or Yas. That said, he can be kited quite easily so I'd keep him at A+. If you have hard engage, or movespeed buffs on your team he could easily be S tier, but that's not always the case.

Hi, im kind of curious why you put Sona into the A tier, and not the a+ or s tier. Her kit literally has everything needed to keep an adc alive, with a good amount of poke, a pretty large heal after you get 2-3 points in it, a movement speed buff for some of the slower or less mobile adcs, and a game changing ultimate, which allows you to change the outlook of a teamfight with just a click of the r key. She has a lot of versatility, and is pretty meta friendly as of right now (but for some reason everyone bans her in solo queue ;-;). She does not take much time or skill to learn, and can synergize with so many adcs (i.e. Sivir, twitch, jhin, tristana, etc.) almost perfectly, and in my year of playing her, i have not found a time where she was noticeably weaker then she was when i started playing her.

Just kinda curious why you put her in the a tier, she feels much stronger than some of the champs in the a+ and even some in the S tier.

Hey moon,

I totally get that opinion. And since you're clearly a dedicated sona main I'll first address her great strengths. Sona does alot of things well. She's arguable one of the most oppressive poke supports right now, and that makes her great at carrying her ADC through a rocky laning phase. Sona provides lots of utility and CC, which makes her fit into tons of different lanes and team comps. Sona is very strong, and is especially strong the in the hands of someone who knows how to use her ult aggressively. That said, I placed my champs based on the way they fit in over-all with the meta, which made me knock sona down a couple pegs. Healing and Shielding supports are simply TOO OP right now to make any poke support S tier. If you're placed into a position where all of your oppressive poke damage is quickly mitigated, you have a really hard time really snowballing out of laning phase. Ofcourse, this is speaking in really broad terms and im sure there are plenty of Sona's that still win lane against Jannas and their ilk. The biggest problem most damage supports have is sacrificing the extremely OP healing items. Sona can build both sensor and redemption, but she takes a huge hit to her damage as a result. Perhaps damage -> utility build could work to transition out of lane, but I haven't seen that very often. Overall, I think Sona is one of the best damage supports right now (next to Karma), but she gets kneecapped by the number of healing/shield supports being played right now.

Hope that helped explain my reasoning! I'm still happy to have a Sona support in lane, but she's just not as oppressive as she used to be.

Do not agree with you on putting Irelia in the B tier. A good Irelia can definitely snowball games pretty hard and win them if she knows what shes doing. Also her being so versatile makes her good in pretty much any meta..

DeviousDumplin (3) | October 9, 2017 11:51am
Now that you point out her versatility I think you're mostly right. I think her major problem is a relatively steep learning curve, mostly because she can do so much with her kit. I'm leaning towards moving her up to A tier because she can be very dominant if played well.
