Game 22 & 23

Duo Queue with Wintermond

Bans

I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from this game as I was laning against a Dr. Mundo, but I felt confident after I saw he started with a Doran's Shield while I had 6 Health Potions. Unfortunately, I didnt immediately place the Sight Ward I also started out with and I died to a Lee Sin gank to give Mundo First Blood. Not the first time this has happened and really something I need to stop doing.
After that I still managed to outfarm Mundo, I just wasn't really able to dominate him as well as I would've been able to had I not made that mistake.

As Winter and I started roaming around during the mid game, the enemy team somehow managed to put immense pressure on every lane we weren't in at that point, which was incredibly frustrating. Because Winter started snowballing, however, we were still confident in our ability to beat them.

Unfortunately, as the game grew on, their team became incredibly tanky and were proving too hard for us to fight 5v5. We asked Jax to build Blade of the Ruined King like MF, but he was too busy getting his Frozen Mallet apparently. Meanwhile Miss Fortune had a Mundo running at her every fight and did not get enough protection from Janna and we lost despite having an extremely fed Akali. Personally I ran around in fights hitting everyone left, right and center, but I still felt quite useless as the amount of health on the enemy team made my true damage look a lot less frightening than it should be and I wasn't tanky enough to soak up all the damage while Winter killed them.

Not sure what I should've done differently other than the early death though, sad game.

And again I repair the damage by jungling. Winter laned against a Pantheon mid (who forced the enemy Orianna to lane top vs Yorick, lol), so I tried helping him early but eventually managed no more than to harass Pantheon a bit, leaving him relatively low.

Yorick got a double kill when the enemy Olaf tried to gank him, but bot lane was having a relatively difficult time since the Ashe wasn't the greatest in terms of positioning and decision making (relatively important on her) and they died to Pantheon ganks twice, even though they could see him coming both times: the first time I spotted him walking towards bot lane in the river, the second time a ward they placed themselves showed him. Pantheon leaving the lane allowed Winter to get ahead in level, however, and he started winning mid lane as soon as Panth came back despite Panth picking up some kills/assists.

With mid and top both being behind, the enemy team started flaming each other and made more mistakes. Winter got incredibly fed and carried while I did my thing picking up several Dragons for our team and counterjungling the Olaf. Not really sure what I'm doing when I jungle, but it seems to be working out for now.

Yorick invaded at level 1 to annoy Rammus at his blue buff (I was there too to help my jungler) and eventually had to Flash out as we almost killed him. I went to top lane with him being low and managed to stay ahead in cs early but couldn't really finish him off under his tower. First Blood was meanwhile picked up in bot lane by Shyvana and that lane was immediately behind.

Our AP Tristana (yes, I considered dodging, but I generally try to avoid doing it as I feel unconventional choices can still work out) then suddenly disconnected and Katarina ganked bot, getting a double kill.

In top lane, Yorick pushed me back quite easily after he got his Tear of the Goddess and he was slightly ahead in cs because of it. I eventually decided to give up my tower to try and help my team as Katarina and Ezreal were both getting more kills ( Katarina was feeding on the now underleveled and underfed Trist in mid lane, while Ezreal mainly got kills on Lulu in bot lane), but their team was overall way stronger and it was hard for me to stick to Ez or Kat (I went for Boots of Swiftness to help with this, since they didn't have much crowd control anyway).

Slowly but steadily they forced their way towards our base and finished the game. Not sure if the game would've gone differently had Trist not disconnected though.

Personally I think my biggest mistake was getting a Negatron Cloak after Katarina got some kills. I was buying it for the teamfighting stage in which I figured I needed to focus her ( Ezreal seemed less of a problem after she got a triple kill), but in the laning phase vs Yorick it didn't really help me out as he has really mixed damage and I would've probably been better off with either a combination of mres and armor, more health (I already had a Giant's Belt) or possibly even health regen to outsustain his poke.

Holy **** these low elo games.

I did my very best to farm despite Elise's auto-attack being ****py and I missed only 1 cs out of the first 4 waves, and from then I wasn't allowed to farm as **** just kept happening. Warwick gank, Lee Sin gank, another one by Lee, Warwick again, Twisted Fate teaming up with WW to try and dive me after I killed Vladimir during that WW gank and then straight into the teamfighting phase. Most of my deaths were in teamfights as I decided to man up and jump on their only strong player at that point ( Graves). Since both Ryze and Lee Sin were fed too, though, we always came out on top in those fights and we won the game convincingly in the end.

Overall, I outplayed Vlad - who was not a great player, to be fair - hard and I also juked Warwick multiple times with Rappel because he didn't know how it works, lol. Happy about my play this game.

So I started this game by disconnecting in the loading screen along with our Leona and two enemies, but luckily I got back just before the minions spawned.

Nocturne came for a good early gank on Wukong which netted me First Blood 3 minutes in. Nocturne then ganked mid but unfortunately Ryze didn't really respond so they didn't get a kill there.

Things were looking good when bot lane picked up a kill too, but soon our team started to derp hard. Despite my ward I got ganked by Shaco and Brand and, since I was pushing my lane and stood near the enemy tower, I was struggling to survive. Even though they eventually had to dive me way past my first tower, I died and all three of them ended with low HP. Had anyone helped me, we could've picked up three kills easily. To make matters worse, my teammates weren't exactly pressuring other lanes either.

This got me quite worried and, although I tried to play normally, my level of play in the next couple of minutes was incredibly bad with me missing tons of cs for no good reason, which allowed Wukong to get back on level terms (both ~90 around the 15 minute mark, which is mediocre tbh). When I got three-man ganked again, I managed to escape (despite my team being incredibly slow to respond again), but Nocturne and Leona decided to fight and died while Ryze stayed mid. Again, two players on their team got away with low health. Obviously this started some flaming, but luckily it was only temporary as a good fight minutes later got us three kills and a Dragon.

After this we had the initiative, but we did derp a lot as a team by staying too long after winning a fight or killing a tower, not properly dodging the Brand ult (I literally carried it to my team by dashing to one of my teammates once, oops) or wanting to do two things at once, as was the case for the second Dragon, where me and Nocturne focused on the Dragon while the others tried fighting the enemy team (we got drake but lost the fight heavily).

When the enemy team picked up Baron after killing one of my teammates (who was out of position), things looked to turn ugly, but luckily we stepped up our game as a team after that and started winning teamfights convincingly most of the times. I got incredibly fed in the process and was doing a pretty good job at jumping in, doing the damages and then backing out again (rinse, repeat).

On their team, Wukong also started making a lot of mistakes and generally had some bad ultimates in the late game, so we eventually got all three inhibitors down before recalling, regrouping and going for the win.

Not quite sure why my cs is so atrocious considering I was still even with Wukong in lane, will have to keep an eye on that.

Scumbag team captain banned my Lee, leaving Shen open for them to pick. I picked Elise figuring she should probably do well against him (though I've never played the matchup before, to be fair), but it turned out to be a Shen support with Jax top.

I ran into lane with 7 Health Potions, 2 Mana Potions and 2 Sight Wards to find him having..... a Doran's Ring. I legitimately lol'd.
Anyway, he played quite aggressively, jumping on me at every opportunity, so I played carefully at first, until he was low enough for me to go in for a kill (meanwhile I, of course, had regenerated using my potions).

After my first kill I got a couple of ganks from Trundle and Pantheon and I got fed pretty quickly. After Jax' third or fourth death, we also managed to get top tower. I started roaming to help my team, which was very much necessary considering Tristana had picked up some kills while their Cho'Gath also got some kills and a lot of farm to become an absolute beast.

After I left top lane, some of my teammates ( Pantheon especially) managed to die to Jax multiple times (I honestly have no clue how that's even possible) and he got back into the game with his eh.. very unusual build. I was worried since their team had an absolutely incredible late game with Cho'Gath, Jax and Tristana, but luckily my team came out on top in most fights with Trundle especially getting a lot of kills (he played really well throughout).

We eventually went for Baron and, as they came to stop us, I managed to Cocoon their Tristana and zone her from the fight entirely before finishing her off and switching to Jax (who eventually Flashed away, after which one of my teammates killed him). We somehow got the Baron during the fight, too, which allowed us to win the fight very convincingly and push for the win in one go.

Tough one, this.

I really hate her human form auto-attack (though I've heard it's better with the skin), but other than that her laning is pretty simple. Teamfights can be a bit trickier at times.

elise is really easy to do okay with because of her easy laning phase (q spam + spider when engage)
but other than that unless you're fed it takes some intuition and knowledge to know when to go in and when not to
