[9.2] How to tilt your enemys with Ninja - Rammus

By morlix98
Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • High Mobility due to Powerball

  • Great counter to most AD Champions

  • Doesnt lose much HP in the jungle thanks to Defensive Ball Curl

  • Has great engage with Powerball

  • Taunts for 2.25 seconds when Frenzying Taunt is maxed

  • Has offensive scaling on defensive stats such as Spiked Shell, Defensive Ball Curl and Thornmail

  • Can 1v1 or 1v2 many Champions in the mid- to lategame, spreading fear across the enemys, forcing them to keep their vision up to date, to avoid you

  • As long as noone of the enemy team is behind you, or able to hard CC you, you can get away from barely anything you want, using Powerball

Cons:

  • Is counterted by teams with a lot of AP, but that doesn't lose you the game

  • If the enemy team if far ahead, you just die when you try to enage a teamfight with Powerball, as you need it to propperly engage a fight, and to escape eventually

  • Can have problems dealing with mages such as Veigar, Zyra or Neeko before finishing Abyssal Mask

  • If the enemy Team has somone like Fiora, Master Yi, Jax or a fed Yasuo, that can 1v1 you in mid to lategame, you have to be very careful not to meet them alone, when Powerballing through neutral or enemy territory.
Tips and Tricks
Earlygame - Jungle pathing
  • In my opinion Hunter's Talisman is the best option to start with, also Refillable Potion is the way to go.
  • You would like to start the game on your bot side, because 2 champs help better than 1.
  • Depending on how much damage they do, you use Defensive Ball Curl one or twice, after kiting out some hits.
  • After this you go Raptors if you started red, and Wolves in case of blue.
  • After this, if your enemy isn`t Kindred or Graves with a red buff you most likley want to contest the Rift Scuttler and should save Smite for this occasion. You can often try to hit a Lvl.2 gank with Powerball.
  • A play, that works great if the midlane is in the right position, is to stand in the bush as closley to the minions as you can, if 2 die, you get lvl 3 and can then roll into the back of the enemy midlaner, eventually using Flash to secure the knockback from Powerball away from his tower.
  • If you dont do this, you then want to move to the side of the jungle you haven`t cleared yet(Avoide the Grump early), get lvl 3 and the other buff, where you use Smite most times. And then look for a gank.
  • If no ganks are possible, farm camps until you have at least 950 gold, to get Boots and Stalker's Blade and, if possible a Control Ward.
  • Plus I've noticed, that you should have smite ready, or be lvl 4 before you try to get on Krugs, otherwise, with low HP you might struggle here.
Midgame
Lategame
The lategame with Rammus often depends on the enemys team consitaltion, feed and farm distribution, and many other things consider the following:
  • The Mobility offered by Powerball helps you to move around the map very fast, so keep a good look at it, as you often are the first to be able to respond to a tower beeing pushed, an enemy solo walking trough the jungle or just making calls for Baron Nashor, Dragon or Tower push
  • You can 1v1 most Champions easily (see Threats) so go for Duells, using Powerball to chatch enemys you get a glimpse on or can assume their path so again Viosion is key to be good with Rammus
  • If the enemy tea has a ADC (in best case immoblie like Ashe, Kog'Maw or Miss Fortune) you try to search them on the map, chatching them every time they are solo, moving from lane to lane or farming.
  • ...more to come...

Predator?
I've tried this, and I'm not a big fan of it.
This is the version and builds I found to be most effective.
You lose a lot of your defensive stats with Aftershock and the whole Resolve tree but profit in Burst( Cheap Shot),Mobility( Relentless Hunter, Predator) and Utility ( Ghost Poro) from the Domination tree.

Hi guys,
I`m morlix98, a german lol player, main supp and jungle.
I`ve been around roughly since season 3, but skipped one or two until today.
I started out as Support and Jungle, as I totaly sucked at farming.
After some time I found my personal favorite in the Armordillo Ninja Rammus .
I then started to main him and had a winrate about 66 - 70% for most of the time.
Since there are a lot of diffrent opinions out there on how to play him, I just wanted to add my personal one to the discussion, with my favorite style of the main versions.
So I will try to go into more details on my playstyle,as i get feedback here.
Until then enjoy the Powerballing around, and comment if you want to discuss, flame me or got any opinions.
