HÖHÖHÖ he buys magic resist , gets ap through that, can poke you good (even if he has mana problems) and his ultimate will hurt, especially if his team wants to see you dead. Good, that he is never played. Im sure you will loose. His W gives him HP back, depending on the damage. you cant trade with him.

Who am I?
Heyho raccoons and Ekko-Players out there!
My favorite champs are Shaco, Talon and Ekko! Like you see, I love champions which are able to juke and deal a big amount of damage. If you have a character like me and agree with the build, you are at the right place!
I'm playing on EUW with my Account Waschbärkebab on Silver 2. I know, that's not much, but it's still enough to make this guide.
I'm playing Ekko since he was released. He has a grad potential, even if he get's nerfed and many ways to juke people. This guide is for everyone. Have fun! =)
Ekko is a boy from Zhaun. Not the best place to live, to be honest. The most unique skill of him is his ult Chronobreak. You never found an ultimate like this yet.
He is an Assassin, and you can play him tanky or as the burst champion he is. He has a gapcloser, a poke, a super passive, another passive from Parallel Convergence which is like Zed's passive but without cooldown and if he goes wrong, he still has his ult to reset the time.
Pros
|
+ Burst + Engage / Disengage + Shield, stun + Heal with ultimate |
You are the Assassin. You have an AP scaling shield, a stun, a high burst with your Combo and some items. You can "jump" to your enemy with your Phase Dive, can poke him with Timewinder and if you almost die, you can disengage with Chronobreak. |
SPACE
Cons
|
- Parallel Convergence needs 3 Seconds - melee - Early Game: High mana cost - Item reliant |
You don't have much mana in the early game. You can't poke that much. You are a melee champ, so you can get poked and have to go in deep. You don't deal much damage without your items (except your ult Chronobreak. Your stun / shield is hard to hit, even if it has a large range and a big area, and it takes 3 seconds to activate. You can die in this time easily. Your biggest counters are off-tanks, or tanks themselves. Also burst champions like Yi, because you cant disengage against them usually. |
SPACE
Runes
Armor against some minion damage, fights with Auto attacks, against AD Champs like Yasuo. |
You are midlane. Most time you will see some AP enemies. Are you wondered? :D |
Necessary for almost every AP Champion. This will give you a large amount of Ability Power for the early stage of the game |
SPACE
SPACE
Classic AP Start Item. You get some AP, Health and better Mana regeneration. Thats really good for Ekko in the early game! |
SPACE
If you know that you will get poked much, better take this one for sustain. It's important to farm up for Lich Bane and Luden's Tempest. |
SPACE
One of the most important Items on Ekko. This is a little power spike in my eyes, because this will increase your damage highly. The bonus damage on an auto attack is perfectly! |
SPACE
The 2nd most important Item on Ekko in my eyes. You get some movement speed, Ability Power and the bonus damage if you hit an ability. It gives a super burst combo together with Lich Bane! |
SPACE
If you are ahead, this item is perfect! You will get a huge damage with that. I'm pretty sure you will onehit the adc with a combo. Otherwise it just increases your AP. Normal for an AP-Caster. :P |

I didn't try it yet. Many people come now "Why you post it then? That makes no sense. Dizlike!". Nah, maybe here are some people who thought about this item already, like Nashors. But I come to that later. It's not a bad idea, at all. You get AP, HP and Mana. The passive is also good for sustain. So if you need to go kinda-tank, why not? Your burst isn't that high, but you survive better and got more sustain + mana. That's not bad for passive-Ekko ! Example would be toplane against a champ like Riven or Renekton. You can poke on this way and trade more. |
SPACE
I don't like it on him. It gives cooldown reduction but I don't think that he needs it. Attack speed isn't needed because your abilities and auto attacks deal enough damage for the passive and burst. You could buy it for the Parallel Convergence passive but I don't like it. It is a possibility but it doesn't fit in that good. |
SPACE
I'm maxing Timewinder as first, for the poke, the "double" damage and the cooldown. Its perfect, because it gives you 2 stacks of your passive. After that I'm maxing Phase Dive, because this is my usually combo. Getting Timewinder on the enemy, 2 stacks if everything worked, and then rushing in with the Phase Dive. The damage output is unbelievable.
As last I'm maxing my Parallel Convergence. The shield amount is big enough and the stun is long enough for the game. Also the cooldown is very high. Imagine you skill it up, miss it, and have to wait ~15-20 seconds. Nah.. :D
SPACE
Z-Drive Resonance
What's better? You can stack this passive with damaging abilities and basic attacks, which is amazing if you are on cooldown. You deal a high bonus magic damage and slow the enemy AND get a movement speed bonus for a short time. I - love - it!
SPACE
•WIP / coming soon
SPACE
Timewinder
And again, I just can repeat. How cool is that? You deal two times a high amount of damage; you have a big & long range and you slow the enemy. It also gives - if you hit it - two stacks of your passive. But if you use it too often, you will run out of mana in a short time (in the early stage of the game, later you have enough mana).
SPACE
•You can use your Timewinder to put 2 stacks on your enemy. You can go to him through the slow, put the last auto attack to tick the passive and run away with the movement speed. Easy poke, hard damage!
•If the enemy tries to run away but is still in range, walk like him. Your Timewinder comes back, so try that it hits him again
•You can easily use it to farm a complete wave. Use Timewinder to get the 2 stacks and then you can easily do the last auto attacks on the melee champs. The range minions are anyway one hit after that.
•Don't use it too often. It costs much mana in the early stage of the game.

Parallel convergence
You have the Riven shield as Ekko. Nice, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it will be nerfed a little bit. The passive is really cool to finish someone off! I can't say much more to it. It also has a good scaling.
The active.. like I said, you have the Riven shield. A shield scaling with your AP - and that really good! You have a really big area to stun people if you are inside, and they will first notice it 0.5 seconds before it detonates. NAICE! After a few games, you will get used to these 3 seconds. You can zone the enemy into this area, and then.... cya m8!
SPACE
•This ability is not that easy. You will get used to it, but it takes time. Try to walk in a special direction, so your opponent will automatically walk into it.
•With luck are you able to take ignite off you with it. But that don't have to work.
•You can use it on a bush to have vision on it. Maybe before you recall, or when you want to clear a bush because someone walked in and maybe waits for you.

Phase dive
I can't stop being happy. You dash forward, which is really useful to get over many walls (for example the drake wall), and then you can "jump" to an enemy target AND deal bonus magic damage! Kiss this attack. It's awesome, and has a good scaling also!
SPACE
•Use the 2 Stacks with your Timewinder and then rush forward with your Phase Dive. With the movement speed can you escape easily. A quick hard poke! Thats really strong in lane!
•This ability works perfectly with Lich Bane and Ludens! You can get a really hard burst with it. Plus 2 stacks of your passive and your Parallel Convergence passive can you onehit the adc if you are ahead.
•You can get over many walls with Phase Dive (more to that later] - use this as escape or advantage
•You can also use E and "jump" to an enemy tower. That also works, and can save your ***... as long as there are friendly minions under the tower :D
SPACE
SPACE
Chronobreak
This is what makes you special. This ultimate can safe you, a teammate, can kill like 5 people and and and! You heal for the amount of dmg you have taken and deal a big amount of damage in an area! This - is - cool <3
SPACE
• You are untargetable and unkillable in your ult. You get ulted from Vi? Karthus ults? A tower shot? You can dodge all of these things with it. But maybe you will reach another position, if you didn't stay there four seconds already.
• If you fight your enemie walk in front of him, so he turns back. Then he will automatically walk into your path from the ult, and you can detonate it if you are low. A heal, and a hard damage output. If you are ignited you can survive it easily, and your enemie will be surprised!
•More soon

Farming
Your passive is perfectly for this. You shoot your Timewinder through the minion wave, so every minion has 2 stacks on it. This is for level 1 now. And if you don't fall behind, it will work for the further levels.
ranged minion: The damage from Timewinder and the 2 stacks plus your finishing auto attack kill them.
big minion: Try to have 2 stacks on the big minion when he has 3/4 HP left. Then you get him with an auto attack or spell.
melee minion: Let your minions do some damage. It's the same like for the big minion. You will have to test it and get used to it.
Level 1-3 Melee Opponent
Try to get your 3 abilities.
When you got them, you can try to poke with hitting your Timewinder 2times, jump in with Phase Dive and disengage away with your movement speed bonus from Z-Drive Resonance.
It should be easy to farm. It's like you are playing Vayne, but you are even stronger.
You can poke your enemy and if you know he will take a creep, try to use your Parallel Convergence, stun him and maybe kill him. Your burst is high enough!
You can take Doran's Ring here.
SPACE
Level 1-3 range opponent
This could be, depending on your opponent, a problem.
You will get poked much. Take Crystalline Flask and try to farm up. If (s)he doesn't poke, you are fine. But it will be hard to reach him or her, because he/she can stay in a safe distance away from you, even with Phase Dive.
SPACE
Try to farm up for level 6 and your items. You have a nice power spike with Lich Bane and an even bigger one with Lich Bane + Luden's Tempest. When you got these items, the fun will begin.
SPACE
Mid-Game
Ahh... the middle stage of the game... Now you got Lich Bane and maybe Luden's Tempest or even more, and the fun begins! You can go roaming and taking down the mid tower. If you know where their jungler is, you can also try to visit him and earn a kill. You should be able to escape with your Phase Dive over walls. If nothing works on the lane, wait for your jungler.
SPACE
Late-Game
Now they will be scared. Time for many teamfights and to end this game!
You better don't engage. You can try if they're split but otherwise... nah, better not.
After your tank engage, place a W where you think they fight or where your target (usually the adc) is. Then engage with Phase Dive, rush forward and take him out with some Auto Attacks and your Timewinder. You are almost dead? No problem, use your Chronobreak and everything is fine again.
SPACE
You can also try to recall (whats risky in a fight) if you are low, heal up, press ult and HERE YOU ARE AGAIN! I didn't try this, yet. But I'm sure this can work. Best would be if you have Enchantment: Homeguard.
Positioning
Try to be undetected. Upgrade your trinket when you can. You want to be in bushes or places where they have no vision. If a teamfight starts, try to place a W in the middle of it. 1 second before it appears, go in, rush into the area with Phase Dive and then go straight forward to their ADC.
On this way, you..
-maybe stunned their whole team or some of them.
-you scared them, so they may split a bit and your team can focus one out.
-gave yourself atleast a shield, and went in for their adc and blocked some damage.
- Zed
And this is it. You want to be unseen. They may won't start a fight, because they don't know where you are. Don't show yourself, unless you have to splitpush or something like that! The moment a fight starts, they have their focus in the people they see. You can use this as advantage, and rush them. And yes, this definitely works!
SPACE
SPACE
I'm making this colored and as an extra point: For this build, and in my eyes, don't even think about playing him top until you really really have to and its necessary.
Why?
-You need a tank. When you go top with Ekko, you may won't have a real tank. It's not good if you engage usually
-Top lane have most time off-tanks. Renekton, Riven, Nasus... do you want to against them?
-Like you see in my match-ups, the most match ups which are in the red part are toplane champions, or hard burst champions which burst you down faster than you them.
This is my opinion YET to toplane ekko. It can change. Also it's not every game like that.

SPACE
If you know (s)he has an escape, like Ziggs Satchel Charge, try to predict where they will land or use it. Always use your Parallel Convergencebefore you come to the gank.
A little trick:
Place Parallel Convergence on the way which the enemy will use to escape. It should be a little bit in your direction. Then you go in for the gank.
The enemy will try to disengage. When you are near, use your Phase Dive to dash into your Parallel Convergence to
A - stun the enemy
or
B - get a short shield
and then "jump" to your enemy with the auto attack from Phase Dive. I know, this sounds weird and you maybe don't understand it. I will try to show it in a video (in a real game).
