Love this guide! <3 Organized, well explained. Is not for nothing your guides are one of the most famous of the site~
Can I make some questions about Sona? Like, if I making a agressive build (EOTW, Boots of Swiftness, Ardent Ceaser, Athene's and Lich Bane) and I just have 200+ HP with EOTW, can I make a Rylai's? Is viable for her? Or I can just make a item without HP like Luden's Echo or Rabadon's? I will get squishy or not?
Thank you! Keep making great guides ♥ (and sorry if there's english errors, english is not my main language ;'D)

Ardent is core imo. AoE shields with the passives is ridiculous

Hello! First congratulations on the guide and sorry for my bad English. I would add unusual ideas but has a certain synergy. are 3 items that have liabilities that added the sona skills generate a result the most.

1. passive eternity catalyst of aeons : (sona spend a lot of mana and repeatedly will make it a team fight. causing the passive is really well used!)

2. Abissal cepter 'AURA" : after using Hymn of Valor (Q) its allies were with a moment of magic damage in the attack. why not promote this damage by reducing the resistance of those who are close?

3.Espirit visage passive: synergy to sustain their own.

I've played this champion at least 20 times, I have watch at least 3-4 hours worth of guides and streams and have read numerous guides..and I still suck with this champion. My warding is fine as I main braum in the support role, but no matter what I do, my adc dies and it is because I didn't help him. I just don't understand what I do wrong.

Sorry for the late reply! Been really busy with school lately, haha.

Yes, you can take Mejai's Soulstealer, but I don't mention it in the guide because I don't want new players to misunderstand it as a core item or anything. Personally I don't like to get it in ranked anyways (even if I'm ahead) because there's too much at risk if the enemy team somehow makes a turnaround. In normals, however, it can be fun to heal for literally a quarter of a teammate's health :)

So just wondering for Sona, is it optional that you can Mejai's Soulstealer? I often use that for Sona when I'm really fed or I never die. Also, your guide is cool and I like it.

The problem with Seraph's Embrace is how long it takes to charge. Until you can almost fully stack Tear, the item is basically useless because you only get a small amount of mana every time you use an ability, and it only has 25% mana regen. Tear is best to get super early so you can start stacking ASAP, but as support your priority will always be utility. Your job will be to get your ADC snowballing as soon in the game as possible, and that's through things like lock-down (Frost Queen's), vision (Sightstone + Pinks), and pure utility (Zeke's passive, Mikael's active, etc.) Tear doesn't fit into any build very well, especially since it costs almost as much as Sightstone. By the time you can assure that your ADC is ahead and snowballing, it'll be a good 15-20 minutes into the game and it'll be pretty late to start stacking towards Seraph's. Other damage items yield instant stats, such as AP, CDR, MPen, etc, for around the same price. However, I will admit the shield is nice, but again that ties in with how support's first job is utility. The shield is great for yourself, but it doesn't do much for the rest of your team.

What about a Seraph's Embrace? I have found that it helps because of the mana usage and the Scaling AP for mana. It also can give you s shield to help with being chunked down.

Wow, thank you so much, and I'm so sorry for the late reply ;_; I'm so glad my guide has helped you that much! I can understand what you're saying about other champions xD Most of the in-depth guides written here are either by long-time Mobafire members or frequence users of the site, so not all of the champions have good, long, detailed guides for them :(

And yep, you're completely right! Frost Queen's was buffed super, super hard some time preseason/early season 6, and I guess I wasn't very careful when going through the guide to make changes, haha. Frost Queen's is a very good item, mainly because of the scouting/lock-down potentional. On Sona in particular, where her only form of CC is her ult or E + Powerchord, it's super useful to have as big of a slow as on FQC. Plus, vision right now is super weak (because wards last less time and trinket cooldowns are ridiculously long... and they took away green wards D:) so the scouting can often save yours or your allies' lives. Although, it's not quite as good as it was at the start of the season because of some nerfs, but still worth its gold in cost.

With the mention of the removal of green wards, I'd just like to mention that they are still included in your guide.
