A lot of MOBAFire's guides are kinda... iffy in my opinion. The highest classed ones are sometimes written by golds, which I won't say is bad, but they obviously aren't experts.
All across the community I've seen people saying that if you use MOBAFire, you won't be taken seriously. trieu chung roi loan cuong duong
How good is MOBAFire? Also, if it really is this bad, how could it becomes so popular? (Search up guides, and you find MOBAFire)
Also, what are your thoughts on LOLKing guides? Are they just as bad?

I think Mobafire was one of the first websites to provide guides and people used them a lot when people were just exploring League of Legends for the first time. Word about Mobafire must have gotten out as one of the bigger websites to check for help. (Just guessing, not 100% sure where Mobafire stood at the beginning.)
As for the guides, it's by the people - for the people concept. Anyone can make a guide and anyone can voice their opinion (upvote, downvote). It's almost a meme now that Mobafire has bad guides because some of the builds are for pure fun or made by people who are not "experts" and just want to show their build.
You will find good guides if you look for them. The easiest yet the hardest phase is to sort guides by it's rating because it usually reflects how good the guide is. If you go a step further, you can check the author too. Especially Reddit circlejerk and "mobafire is **** guides only" posters will link you outdated guide by unranked player saying it's his own fun build for howling abyss. They rarely will link you to a #1 highest rated guide for the respective champion because they didn't actually search for a good guide.
Granted, that there are some questionable guides that are #1 in my opinion but even those are usually for a bit unpopular champion and someone still learned something because they upvoted it.
