Malz used to be one of my favorite champions. Haven't seen him around in forever, decided to get him and seen this guide, so was thinking oh looks like he can be decent. No offense. You have a great guide, but this champion is literal trash right now. He has no early damage, you don't scale into later damage unless you somehow get fed. Sure you can farm easy, but can literally E + W + Q + R + E and it does nothing. Not one enemy felt the need to even back off. The only good thing about him for team is having his Q for 1 target in team fights, assuming your team doesn't mess that up and waste it.

Hes not an assassin therefore should not be able to 1 shot people. Maybe you are used to talon, zed, yasuo playstyle but I am pretty sure Malzahar is really strong right now. I get 65%+ winrate in gold and lower with it with best farm and damage in all my games. Malzahar is damage over time not one shot damage. Obviously like champions that are weak early like Kassadin, you are not as strong pre 6 but thats understandable else the champion would be completely broken.
With TP you always are ahead of your laner in exp and cs, therefore you get to win your 1v1s pretty easily past level 6.

I also feel like in plat+ hes even easier to win with because you will play with team8s that will understand your engages and will know to teamfight arround malzahar.

Hi!!!! I personally love this guide. The build has helped my a lot with my Malzahar gameplay. I was just wondering why you have Haunting Guise listed in the core build rather than Liandry's Torment. Do you build Haunting and then keep building other items and come back to it when you have built the rest of your items. If so what is the purpose of this?

Here's my thinking with the haunting guise.

You build lost chapter first item. If you lose lane to an assassin or something, you build armguard and rush a zhonyas. if you do not die and are ahead of even you do this:

build ludens, build haunting guise.

If you still have your stopwatch from your runes and its unused, you finish your liandrys.

If you do not have your stopwatch anymore from your runes and Zhonyas would benefit you more than finishing your liandrys, thats what you do.

Same goes for your third item AKA rylais. If you have not used your stopwatch, then keep going full damage and get a defensive item (Zhonya) later. After rylais and Liandrys tho you should get a Banshee or a Zhonya.

Greeting kilgta, im happy to see another malzahar main, malzahar have one of the best ult in whole league of legends, malzahar is so powerfull, this is really nice guide but i wanted to ask you what to take when Dark Harvest get nerfed, i hope you will update this guide and i really like it, great job.

You should not dark harvest anymore. It sbeen heavily patched. Your early game is gonna be too weak. You should go back to the normal build now.

You should go back to aery. I think Dark Harvest is still strong on Malzahar for the moment.

Hey,
This was a really cool guide which helped me understand as a champion better. I really understood the runes which you took for your first and third build. However, I did not get how taking predator would be helpful in a matchup against assassins like or who has very high mobility and gap closing.
When they dive you, they can basically 1 shot you unless you have Zhonyas or your Ult up. So how exactly does Predator help you bully them?
I'm really sorry, I did not understand and it would be helpful if you could explain to me :)

Actually I dont use that anymore and I forgot to remove it.

I used to use that into assassins to match their roams and bully them early but with all the recent malz nerfs, its just not doable anymore. Also, because malzahar was really strong at that point.

I appreciate. I will make a section for the runes in the future. As of right now I am still experimenting like mostly anyone. But the main thing you gotta know:
Predator is for roaming and comet is against hard matchups or lanes that do insane damage. I personally run predator mostly anytimes but the meta is comet.

You are an utility mage, you help provide kills to your carry but sometimes your team8s are monkeys so you gotta get the kills yourself, carry them and point them to the free kills. Glad it helped. I should be done with the guide soon enough Have fun!
