Views: 983 Which champion to buy for 3150IP?

I'm sure you guys have heard this question over and over, and I honestly wouldn't be asking it if I had the slightest idea on who to buy.
I researched each and every champion. A friend of mine who plays LoL as well, often tells me to save up my ''money'' for a 6300 champ. But I really can't stay on a single champ for that long, since I play about 3-4 games a day, at best, it takes some time to get the points.
Gangplank, LeBlanc, Lux, Shaco, Xin Zhao, Akali and Olaf are off limits for multiple reasons.
So that leaves me with Rammus, Gragas, Shen, Anivia, Pantheon, Karthus and Kassadin.
After that, it boils down to two champs - Gragas and Shen.
Gragas looks uber fun to play with, and suits me quite well (or so it seems), as for Shen, I heard tons of good and tons of bad things about him. Not sure which is true, but he seems like a pretty hard champ to master.
Any ideas? All are accepted and thanks in advance. :)

PS: as an added bonus, you get to say "Do a barrel roll!" :p
I don't know why more people don't play him :o
Rammus on the other hand...well...he's a ****. If you get good at him, your enemies will HATE you!
Of those champions that I said are out of the question, I either own them, or friends of mine play them all the time. From those, I own Olaf and Akali, both of which are really fun to play.
As for other champions, I have about 11. :) Two of which are free. [Alistar and Tristana]
So it's either Rammus of Gragas. I realize Gragas has his faults, but he really does seem fun to play. That's basically the only reason I want to buy him, and because he seems to be my type of champion. Thanks a lot for the quick answers.
As of right now, Shen is pretty bad, but he's getting big buffs next patch, which may or may not change that, you should wait and see before buying him.
Gragas is ok, and no one really plays him so you don't have to worry about bans.
However, I am currently obsessed with
If you still haven't discovered what champions you really like, and are good with, I'd honestly recommend buying the cheaper champions first, so you can try as many as possible, and discover who you truely like.
What happened to me, is that one of my 1st buys was
That's not to say you shouldn't buy expensive champions, I bought a lot of 3150 champs blind, and love them, and play them all the time now.
All I'm saying is that generally, you should wait til a champ is free, and try him/her quite a lot before you commit to buying them. IP takes a long time to get back if you don't play a whole lot...
Good luck with your decision :)
Shen definitely needs a buff. W is useless lategame, Q+taunt costs too much energy, ult needs a few usability tweaks ( Faster teleport time, able to stop the teleport but keep the shield on the targeted character, etc. ). In lane he's too easily abused, and even if he can win lane, he still won't do enough damage without a steroid. In the jungle, he's too slow and too energy reliant.
