Views: 1013 Soloque is tough for a supporter
|
I am first and foremost a supporter. The reason? Because I think itĀ“s the most fun to be. A good support can change the course of an entire team fight or maybe even the entire game.
ThereĀ“s just one catch...
Playing support in soloque means that for the support to be effective, the other players in the team must know how to take advantage of their support. Sadly most of the people in soloque does not, and then they blame me for not being a good support -.-
The last 2 weeks I fell from 1418 Elo to 1180...
I really gotta start playing duo que with a friend!

I donĀ“t wanna spam the comments with discussions if you know what I mean :)
I guess that the only thing you can do is not play solo unless you have a duo partner.
^If you're not a support main, I'd suggest staying out of bot lane as much as possible. Great supports can influence the game enough to generate more wins than losses. Mediocre supports are pretty much at the mercy of your team.
If you're talking about escaping "elo hell," I suggest duo queueing, picking a couple champs for each role to "main," practice with them, then make sure you completely stomp your lane (or if you're jungling, make sure one lane gets fed) every single game. If you're dominating your lane consistently every game, there is no way you can stay in "elo hell" forever. There simply aren't enough leavers out there to throw every game. A lot of the time in lower elos, the winning team is just the bunch of noobs with the guy that got fed the most. You be that guy.
I play the support in our ranked team and in duo queue and I also queue up with my ad carry partner from our ranked team. I'd say I'm a pretty good support, especially on Janna and Nunu & Willump. I still lose games because the rest of our lanes lose and/or quit.
When I solo queue I play support and often get such a bad ad carry that I can't even carry him because he mostly doesn't farm well enough and he runs into some stupid situations where you can't protect him.
To ibot68: That sounds like a fun idea. Do you also play on EUE?
Well then, good luck finding a good AD friend! ^_^

I don't know if I can ever get out of there D:
I'm interested in duo'ing with you, and I'm an AD carry main. Care to duo sometime?
You on NA? Add me :)
I applaud you for sticking to ranked though. Solo queue is tough enough on any player, but I'd say it's even harder for support mains.
The one nice thing is you usually get the role you want and you can't be counterpicked very easily. I don't see very many support players in ranked queues. Usually ends up being whoever is lastpick gets stuck with the role.
