Hello there ^^ i just tried out Kassadin and he's a really good champion, might get him now that he's on sale, but im wondering... why is he banned so often in ranked games? (i dont know about higher elo, since i got to 1.4k only :( ) I have never lost against a Kassadin when laning against him, he's...an easy opponent (to me, atleast)
So my question, is it so hard for people to play against Kassadin? or people dont like him and that's why he's banned most of the time? :P

Not only that, but it allows for a harass that has an appearance of being hard to counter. The truth is though, with any cc using his r to harass becomes virtually impossible. Not only that, if you have a similar kind of ability to harass then his r uses its usefulness in the laning phase. After all this, continuously using his r takes away too much mana. Therefore he must gain his blue to keep sustain in his lane. This means if you counter-jungle, he is shutdown in mid lane.
The only real reason he was ever banned is because his r stopped any kind of jungling, depending on the skill level of kass he can still avoid the cc/stuns. While this is a pain, all you have to do is have the mid never go past halfway so that they cannot be jungled; then have your own jungle focus the other lanes and counter-jungle their blue.
Understanding kassadin reduced the bannings, it was at the time where he was not fully understood and appeared more potent then he actually is.
Now shen on the other hand...
People ban Kass because they're scared :l
