A big part of the LoL-Community are raging about beeing in Elohell. Many of us use that word in our daily gamingexperience. But how is it defined and where does it end. When do you know that you are in it or rather when does it end?

To define Elohell I asked around in my Facebook-LoL-Group (200people~). Most of them agree with each other that everything below 1400 Elo is Elohell. Some even say that its end at 1500 or 1600. Other people say that it is even present after 1600 ( I refer to Koksei here ;D). So it seems to be everywhere, always stalking a player giving them bad luck just like some god of poverty that you invited into your house.
In the end Elohell was defined to be everything below 1400 Elo, since most of the people talking about Elohell are in this range.

So I started a project to show that Elohell does not exist. In the following post I'll write Elohell in quotationsmarks to show its pseudoexistence.

Gaining Elo - That's what everyone wants. Many LoL-Players instantly go into Ranked, after getting level 30 , to get some Elo. But what most of them awaits is Flame, Bad Luck, Leavers, AFKer, Feeder etc.
It's not like those are only in Rankedgames, they are everywhere. But when you go into Ranked, you don't want them in your team. Thus you recognize them way more than you do in Normalgames. Especially the 4 I mentioned.

Now how did I start to Prove the nonexistence of 'Elohell'. It's pretty simple: I was once a random 1,4k Eloguy. I dodged many queues to get -10 Elo. After getting banned for trolling (sometimes you just have to urge to join a game instead of dodging) and more than 130 dodges I was at perfectly 0 Elo.
Spoiler: Click to view

Starting from here I went into DuoQ and SoloQ. When going DuoQ I teamed up with a mate of mine, who dodged down to 0 Elo aswell.

Oh, where is the Tower of God reference, you ask? Here it comes. But first I'll explain what Tower of God is and why I use it as a reference to the Eloclimb out of 'Elohell'.
Tower of God is an ongoing Manwha, which is still beeing updated every week. In this Manwha we have our protagonist Baam, who wants to climb the tower. It is said that those who can reach the top if the tower will get a wish granted and become a Ranker. So he starts climbing and meets many other people with different objectives.

That should be enough to understand the gist, if you want to know more, just go ahead and read the Manwha!

As I started from 0 Elo and my Elo wasn't even showed in my profile anymore I was just like Baam. Getting out of his Cave for the first time and thrown into the fierce battlefield. You will get team up with people you cannot trust, but you still have to play with them.
Spoiler: Click to view

The best way to win is to trust the only one, who can possibly carry the game. You and your DuoQ-Mate.
Don't be a **** and start flaming if something doesn't work out they way you want it to. Always be nice to your teammates and try to help them. Eventually giving them tipps, but try to not sound like a smart***.

But honestly. Stomping at such a low Elo is not hard. Pick a champ you are good at and start killing your enemies. If that is not the case, I suggest you should go back into normals and keep practicing!
Games in this Elo can be very funny. People are 100% serious and still do not comprehend the simplest things. Try to give them tips about that and don't sound like you expect them to already know things like that. Some of that are: Red and Blue spawn after 5 mins, Dragon after 6 mins, Nashor after 7 mins.
For counterjungling: The buff you enemy started with will spawn at 7.10~7.20 mins into the game.

After winning a teamfight either push and instantly port back to base or do the nashor and regroup. Otherwise the enemy team will rush to Nashor and do him, while you are low and cannot stall or stop them.
Get your top to run down to the Dragonpit to secure a 4v5 Dragon and maybe some kills.
Push and end games. Do not delay the finishing blow onto the enemy Nexus just to get some more kills or troll around. You can always lose or someone can disconnect leading into a lose though you had a 100% win there.
Try to use this tipps to win even harder.

If you can successfully do it you may win some games and raise in Elo and proceed to the next step.
Ofcouse there are things you need to have in order to get what you want. Honestly, one of the most important things in this Elo is not your skill. It is Luck!
Spoiler: Click to view

Your actual skill will be needed later. Right now I was at around 500 Elo. Winning games in here was all about luck to have no feeder or leaver/afk. But even when having one of those. You can win 3v5 easily. I mean it is 500 Elo most people do not even comprehend the importance of Nashor or Teamfights. Rather they are all just kill*****.
But if your Luck is really high, you may meet some of those:
Spoiler: Click to view

A smurfer! Smurfer are players that ar actually way better than the account they are using. They log into these to have fun stomping Lowelo players like you and me (right now I am just another Lowelo player aswell since I do not have another account with a way higher Elo).

The only thing you can do is just keep getting better by practicing everything, even supports need to know how to.

After some time of practicing the mentioned tipps, mapawareness, champawareness and having a sense of what to do in which situation you will end up before the gate out of your unranked misery.
To win this I choosed to go in with SoloQ. I noticed that starting from here DuoQ just makes your enemys way too good for your mates, or because of the DuoQ your mates just suck, maybe that goes back to your enemys beeing too good for them aswell.

Right now the only thing you can do is relying on your luck and gamble! May the luck be with you and approve you of your bronze elo!
Spoiler: Click to view

And ofcourse there will be moments in your climb where you have to abandon your DuoQ-Mate or maybe even getting abandaoned!?!?
Spoiler: Click to view

But that is nothing to be depressed about. You need to climb on your own aswell and I'd highly recommend you to try getting to at least 1400 with SoloQ. If you need help to achieve that, you will find help somewhere, just ask around, or get asked (happened to me sometimes aswell).

But right now we just barely got out of unranked and are preparing to get higher. 1200 Elo to 1300 Elo.
I call this range the filtre. Right here a big part of the Lol-Community is stuck. This is just like the Floor 20 in Tower of God. Many give up here and just live on this floor. And some just keep taking the test and fail them because of others, or because of themselves. Right here, new level 30 players start aswell. So this is a completely new beginning and a new experience.

After a long time of playing rankeds, you will slowly get into the Elo you actually belong to. So right now in this Elo everyone who belongs to the Elo between 1200 and 1300 is called a filtre-player. These players define the skillcap on this Elo. In every game you start some of them will be there, but none of them will ever accept beeing a 1200-1300 Elo player, they want to climb higher, but that will take time and be very slow. Furthermore new level 30 Rankedplayer make the way up even steeper and harder.
Spoiler: Click to view

Getting out of here you need once again the important thing called Luck. Luck to not have Trolls, Leavers, Feeders or AFKs. And you need to keep your calm. Losing your calm can lead to a major lose of your Rating.
Spoiler: Click to view

Poor Yeon. Loses her calm and failed her teammates aswell with that...

So for those who think tl;dr:
'Elohell' is just an excuse for beeing bad.
'Elohell' does not exist, or how do you explain saintVicious 0-2k Elo?

Stay calm, don't rage and play your best.

Sorry, my mind just went blank and I can't really write anything. Just wanted to finish this business.

well it looks impressive since you have all those wins over loses...but it's not really since at 0 elo the people probably all sucked for the longest time so you won many games in a row until you hit smurfers ect.

I feel that elo hell exists but not in the way people think of it. All players who start ranked start 1200 elo, regardless of skill. Hence, around that elo, skill varies extremely so you could say that's some sort of "elohell".

The experiment looked fun, but all in all this was a really long way of not getting to your point. First you say its skill, then patience, then luck that will help you climb out of your perceived ELO Hell.

I even made a tl;dr spot there lol. But since u wont listen to me. I refer to you as the one beeing abandoned. :D...

@Clu Gulager

I said that Luck is the part till 1400 but afterwards it much more depends on skill.
My mind went blank and I stopped there somewhere...

If u see a big text with scrolling down u usually dont look for a tl;dr part, because if the text interests you, you would read it no matter how long it is...but thats not the point...so to repeat myself:

What you call Filter is indeed the elo hell, you can be as good as you want but if you have **** luck you might take ages to pass that.
IN NA, with ****ty ping I took ages (something around 500 games) to pass that grey area from 1200 to 1400 and once done I got to 1900 relatively fast.
Here on EUW I am at 1400 in less than 100 games, and I do not have runes and champs for most roles (my NA account had always all champs and 5 runepages).
Fact is, there is an elo hell, and it ranges from 1100 to 1400 I'd say, because below 1100 you are able to carry yourself to bronze if you are good; I did it on NA in S1, I dropped below 1200 for bad luck and a q dodge elo loss, so I said, k srs time, the same night I was at bronze.
But the time you take to get past 1400 is completly luck based, if you are good enough you will get over it, but you might take a lot.
And the more you go up in rank the easier it is to reach your true elo.
from my personal experience it is faster to climb after 1600 than it is from 1400 to 1600 and when you hit your cieling you will notice. I tried a lot to pass my max elo in NA, but I never got to 2k no matter what, but I also never dropped more than 1 game below 1900.
