Views: 509 "Let's be social? Sounds scary!"

At least it does for most players so it seems. In any match you play you will have your typical guy who spams in chat "I'm amazing and you are all noobs!". After the first ten minutes you will also have your standard 'mother-insult'. These persons are not called noobs, or ragers, or even flamers. No. These guys are called '*******s'. When all else fails they utilize their limited vocabulary to insult everyone in the current match for their own failures or to emphasize a mistake of their teammates while bragging about themselves. Well, you need to have some skills for that!
But why? Why are there all these '*******s' who feel the need to curse and swear and insult your sweet dear of a mother!? Are they jealous of your mother!? Do they know your mother!? Does your mother play LoL!? Can you nick a few Riot Points off of her for some sweet skins if she plays LoL!? That would be a good reason to be jealous of anyone's mother.
No, these '*******s' curse and swear ingame because they, well, because they simply can. They can ruin the community of LoL, and so they do. Maybe not that in mind literally, but they do anyways. I enjoy playing LoL, and I enjoy making new mates after a nice match. But this friend-making business happens one out of ten times. Nine out of ten times the match will end in a reporting spree or insult-deathmatch. All these things are not a good thing for an MMO, especially for a MOBA game where teammates need to 'interact' with each other, 'communicate', and be 'social'. These words frighten off the '*******' type because all they do is flame their keyboard into oblivion and ruin someone else's presumably enjoyable free time which they spend on LoL.
The urge to flame back at them is immense, and you can barely restrain the need to crush them with your higher intelligence. But let's face it, they are compensating for IRL flaws propably. And to crush them, while they also get an email from Riot basically telling them "You sir, are an '*******', and therefor are banned!" is just too much for their simple souls to bear. Be the better Blitzcrank. Mercy, then. Help the community!

the anonymity in LOL and the competetive gameplay will always bring out the worst in certain people.
You can not educate them, you can not make them more sensitive and even if you debate on their niveau, then they still win because their opinions are facts....
I think I blogged about this a while ago when I wished for an internet knigge- but you can not force being a better human down sb throat.
