    Solid Pick - Raising Elo

    Hello, folks.

At the momment, I have something around 500 victory, and I'm feeling confident to join the "ranked games". I know there is no secret to raise elo, but I really would appreciate if you guys could spare with me some solid picks for each role (mid - top - bottom (ad + support) and jungle.

Sorry for my no perfect english.

    Much love!

If you're just starting ranked, you should really just play your best champion in your best role. If you don't have any champions or roles that you specialize in, I suggest you start practicing some before starting ranked.

I think you misunderstood me, FalseoGod. What you're suggesting is specializing, just in 10 champions. What I'm advising against is playing like 2/3 of the champions in League in ranked.

I disagree. Specializing is the best way to improve at the game and ultimately climb elo

@FalseoGod agreed. Also, keep in mind when deciding two champions to know well in each role that they are not similarly countered. Do not decide to pick both Udyr, and Singed top lane because they are both easily countered by kiting champions or just ranged champions in general (ex: Teemo, Nidalee do pretty well at keeping their distance).

You don't really need to specialize in order to play ranked though, specially because you will seldom get what you want. Be good with at least too good champions for each lane and you're good to go.

I recommend learning Malphite, Shen, Kha'Zix or some other commonly banned champions first so you can abuse it if they aren't banned.

    Solid picks are

Top: Jax (can carry 1v5), Singed
Mid: Katarina, Anivia (but high skill cap with the wall and Q)
    Jungle: Lee Sin, Olaf, Maokai
AD Carry: Miss Fortune, Ezreal, Graves (low skill cap)
Support: Taric (as easy as support gets, stun RW heal people bam 0/0/50), Soraka, Lulu

"only happens if his opponent is ****", Jax wins a pretty fair amount of match-ups and is relatively safe. Just because you don't see someone carry with Jax 1 v 5 doesn't mean he is a bad pick.

I was only listing solid picks :l Not really champions that can carry.

Cho doesn't carry. Elise only hard-carries at low low elo where people randomly run into your Q's.
Singed is easiest and effective for top.
I don't think jungle maokai carries. Jungle Xin is quite a beast. Anivia only carries at higher elo. Low elo people can't protect blue and don't even bother giving it to you.

I agree with FalseoGod on Jax. Jax has the potential of being a beast, but that only happens if his opponent is ****. Saying you should be experienced with Jax, before playing him. Cho top sounds better (or Cho jungle) or Malphite indeed.

This idea that Jax is a god goes behind me. I hardly ever see a Jax carry at all, and the ones that get fed go 1v5 and die like the morons they are.

    You forgot to mention Elise

I didn't know you could deal magic damage while knocked up for two seconds. Or burst through someone who always starts a fight with 110% effective health...

There's something which counters magic damage. It's called magic resist.

no seriously he can be played jungle, top and if your trolling even mid he is a great champion but he is countered by magic damage which is not exactly good
