Hello !

I don't really care the maths about the Q or E :)

I wanted to try pantheon, and read your guide - thank you for it - it is really interesting, and well detailed. I played few games with this champ that I really like a lot. One extra reason, for me, to max E first is that in teamfight, or on a gank or whatever, you deal damages to others also, which help a lot your teammates. How I play him (as a top laner mostly), the Q is a finisher. I dont use ignite so it works perfectly for me !

Anyway, I found your guide very useful, and what I love with this one, is that with very few adjustment, it works everylane. I played panth as solo top, and supp, with the same exact build.

My 2 cents : I go with the Hydra instead of the BT because - again - of the team damages. I play LoL as a team, so I don't really care who get the kill, as long as a virile spartan, I give away damages.

So thank you, your guide was more than helpful ! For the records, this is somehow my 10th or 11th game with pantheon. And the first ranked one. I ****ted my pants cause Elise is - I think - some kind of counter to panth, so played very safe early game. This is how it ended !

Don't know how to send you directly the screenshot, but feel free to use it.

Thank you and long life to your guide !

One quick note about a problem with the damage math. It doesn't take cooldown into account which makes a difference. While your point still stands, i.e. E outscales Q as the levels increase, the Q actually far exceeds E early on, moreso than your calculations show. Basically, the Q cooldown is 4 seconds whereas E starts at 10. This means that Q does 2.5 times more damage than E, because in the time I can do one E, I could also do 2.5 Qs. In other words, DPS. However, as the E drops all the way down to 6 seconds, the Q DPS need only be multiplied by 1.5 which still leaves Q falling short at max levels, which is your original point. I can't be bothered to do the math right now but at some point E becomes better than Q but Q is far better in the beginning. So, pick your path, better early game or mid game. Of course, ultimately both abilities will be maxed, at which point the math becomes moot.

Nice guide. I'm about to play my first Pantheon game. Not sure if I should do Q or E first. ;) :p

That implies that Pantheon doesn't fall off if you max Heartseeker Strike, and implies that your Q doesn't become stronger with items, both of which are false. ANYTHING with ratios will become stronger as you build items for those ratios, and Pantheon falls off so hard because his main source of damage is channeled.

I don't say anything about it not scaling with items lol, and the ratio on your E is about triple that of your Q (or something) so actually E doesn't fall off, and no actually the reason he falls off so hard late game is because if you max Q first you won't get the early game dominance that maxing E provides so by the time E is maxed you inevitably won't have as much gold/items and just won't be nearly as strong.

Please inform me of the other places where you're confused, since you said "several areas" and only pointed out one.

This would be a nice guide if it wasn't flat-out wrong in several areas.

Quoted:

The reason Pantheon is surrounded with this stereotype of falling off hard late game is because, if you play him like most people do, he does. When maxing Spear Shot first, you will have some strong (not OP or SO BROKEN ODFSLKJFSLKDJF like most guides will try to say, just, strong) poking power EARLY game, but in the mid game it will drop off quite significantly, and by the late game it will have fallen off extremely hard. Heartseeker Strike, on the other hand, becomes STRONGER as the game goes on.

I really like the guide. But one question why mid? Yes it can be played but its a lot harder to farm since the enemy will probably be a ranged champ, but in top lane you would both be meele and it would be easier to farm.

Great guide, thanks. My Pantheon performance went up significantly!

So far I've dealt with quite a few champions and I was really controlling the lane.
My question is: How do you deal with Nasus on top lane?

Nasus is a different story. I barely scratch him (especially if he stacks armor).
I tried hard to harass him and not let him farm, but by the time I went oom he was around 60% hp... nearly impossible to kill in 1v1.
I thought of a tactic where I just save my W to stun him, right before he gets to Q minions. it worked partly...

Any tips from experienced Pantheons?
I would guess Nasus is some kind of a counter champion to Pantheon.

Thanks

Q him early game until he wants to kill himself and just play extremely aggressive levels 1-5 before he gets any real tankiness, jungle help is recommended if possible.

Couple of comments and I leave this open to everyone:

Sidenote: Panth needs a buff in his W! Use it on ally minions and wards like jax to escape! and when it jumps on a champion, it has an aoe stun. Up if you agree!

AS TO the guide, this is good for a STARTING panth, but when in ranked games, why is there NO mention of Youmuu's Ghostblade for armor pen. and escape and attack speed to out 1 v 1 a enemy champ nor Frozen Heart as a heavy armor item? When doing well, (and this happens often) you WILL be the focus in team fights, and need the aura to slow everyone and live, and sustain (cuz face it, we will go oom after taking out 1 enemy champ!!! :(

Panth is a high damage assassin who with a properly timed ult can wipe out on an needs a focus on armor pen (if people build heavy armor, his attacks are useless) and cd to keep his damage output up!

For anyone curious, try this build:
youmuu's ghost blade
black cleaver
merc treads
Last Whisper
Frozen Heart
Maw of Malmortius
(40% cd, high damage, balanced out with armor and mr)

First try with this guide, i like how it explained a little more in-depth then the last. The other guide i tried got me 5-4-2, but this one got me to 13/3/3. 2 of those were from a sneaky turret. Voted up.
