Easiest way to find ppl to play with in your level is to add people after games.
Either people with whom you had fun or they carried.
When I started LoL waay back then, my friendlist was filled with random people from my normal games.
I don't know if the community is as bad as people say now, maybe just because I got deeper into the game.
But back then, I'd have alot of fun in normal games with people that I met for the first or second time :p

Well I have had the odd request after matches however I tend to find the good player and the ones who carry well are also jerks to the team and I wouldn't want to play with them again, the rest of the team are too quiet for me

Same, been playing for 3 years and I still have people in my friend list that I have no idea who they are. Actually that's most of them. Many of them aren't active anymore though since I stopped adding people after games a while ago
