Riot is a heavily DEI company that mostly focuses on affirmative action over hiring people with the highest levels of skill. as a result the game has a lot of policies based in "feelings" instead of hard data.
There's never been anythinog evidence that chat restrictions do anything to improve the game experience and a lot of evidence that it actually harms the game. by disabiling a persons ability to communicate with their team their team is playing at a disadvantage.
