1) NO! You should not be KSing from your carry. You support them and get your gold. Because you have heals, you farm while your carry goes back to base.
2) Soraka's a great support hero and you should be trying to learn her and Taric IMO. Offence aren't usually support's forte. Leveling starcall at least once at about 4-5 or 7 should be fine for when you need to farm.
3) IMO, if you are being pushed back to base, you should just ward directly outside your base and ward from there. You can ward over walls and you should abuse that as much as possible.

Well In normal games, you may not touch any of the cs, but then you notice 10 minutes in your carry has 10... So judge how well they are at farming and lasthit based off that. You shouldn't really be in the situation ever to deny kills, but it is a general rule that I follow to do everything possible to secure the kill, so don't hesitate to do damage to them in the small chance your starcall takes a kill. And soraka is a good support champion, doesn't take much to learn her
1) Play pure support if you can. If you notice your lane partner is failing at last hits, then start last hitting yourself.
2) Soraka is a top tier support hero. She is the best babysitter in the game. Once you learn more supports you will learn which ones are best for which scenarios, that is the fun part to me. :)
3) If you're going to go warding check the minimap to see if most of the enemy team is mia. If everybody's in their lanes don't ward in dangerous places such as dragon / baron. Once you're into mid/late game make sure to be with your team when you ward, or if you're base trapped go out just a little to ward your jungle / baron if you can (you sometimes have to take the risk).

For Soraka it's probably fine to share farm with say the tank or off-tank if they are in your lane. She benefits a lot from items. But if it was say Janna or Sona I'd probably still take no creeps.
Also a lot of people, especially at low levels, don't understand why supports don't take last hits, so don't let it bother you if ppl ask you things like that.
