Riven jungle is suboptimal as of S3. Same with Diana; both champions depend on items and would far prefer lane farm, and they both lack the innate sustain necessary to jungle efficiently without level 30 masteries and runes.
Nunu & Willump is a good beginner jungler who does well at all levels of play. Fast clearers who have great dueling potential can build tanky DPS like Shyvana, Udyr, and Olaf are also good picks for beginners because they are not too vulnerable to counterjungling and can spend lots of time ganking due to fast clearspeed.

Thanks for the quick response!
My first ever jungle was with Nunu, but I found him to be tedious and a bit difficult to gank with, maybe because I've been playing him as a support. Found myself going into a "support" mindset as soon as I engaged combat.
Thanks for the tips! Will try them out. :D

I would not recommend Olaf as a starter since he needs a slightly optimal runepage in order to survive well in the jungle. Otherwise, he might die to red or something. Udyr and and Nunu though, are strong picks for early jungling though.

Olaf actually clears the jungle fine at summoner level 1 (I've tested this on my smurf accounts when I needed junglers who didn't get executed with no runes/masteries), so this isn't strictly true. You do need to start blue first and get a leash, though.

That's actually pretty much what Nunu & Willump's teamfight role boils down to: disabling an important enemy threat with Ice Blast while buffing his team's ADC with Blood Boil. Channeling Absolute Zero also forces the enemy team to focus him, which can be instrumental in giving your teammates some time to DPS uncontested.
Also, his ganks are great; are you maxing Consume first instead of Ice Blast?

Huh. Today I learned things.
My junglers:
Amumu
Vi
Xin Zhao
Jarvan IV
Volibear
Some others to consider:
Maokai
Hecarim
Nocturne
Udyr
You could also try Warwick as he is usually the easiest to sustain in the jungle. you can actually jungle at low summoner levels with him. However, he just isn't that great other than clearing jungle.

+1 Rep me if you think I help you or others or don't Pick A Card.
... Man I used to say that stuff. It's been years.

Cho'Gath is also a decent jungler. I don't think there's any updated builds (as compared to his top lane), but he jungles far better than he lanes.
Great sustain, great CC for ganks (both a silence to prevent flash, and a pop up / slow). Post level 6, jungle is great for getting Feast stacks or using Feast as a crazy burst damage during a gank.
He's also fairly simple to use, just need to get the timing / aim of Rupture down. I've only jungled a few times.
Max spikes, start with Blue, and you can go all day.

I've been playing support since I was lvl 1, am now lvl 23. I want to try jungling, but don't know what champion to start with. Is there any that are better than others?
Have tried Riven, Nunu and Diana, Di being the favorite as of now.
Thanks!
