Probably stronger in the jungle right now than he is in the top lane. Does pretty much everything well in the jungle. Clears well, has good jungle control, can counter jungle well and has strong ganks. As far as top lane goes, Lee Sin is one of the most versatile when it comes to builds so even if he does have bad match ups, he can overcome them through the way you build him.
His hardest top lane matchups would probably be
Jayce,
Malphite,
Olaf
I play a ton of Lee Sin in pretty much any role, so if you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask.

Hey there,
Curious about the ability to play Lee Sin in high level games. I heard from my friend that he used to be WAY stronger and went through a large series of nerfs. He also seems to me to have a high skill cap, and have to really develop your micro skills to play him well. But I am one of those people that focuses more on specific champions rather than learn a group of champs. So I have been playin a ton of games with him, but just wanted some opinions on how people think he is in the jungle AND in top lane. I know he falls off a little late game. How about top lane, does he have any bad matchups? Just some more experienced players' opinions on Lee Singah would be appreciated!
Opinions? Probably one of the best junglers there is currently.
There's just absolutely no way you can catch him or escape from him with the amount of dashes and slows he has. Invades like a boss, gives zero sheets and is a perfect addition to any team IMO.
He has a kit that many would kill for, I mean, slows, gap-closers, shields, sustain... The only thing he doesn't have is eye-sight, but he's so bad-*** he doesn't need eyes anyway.
The more games you play with him and the more accustomed you become to his playstyle, you will become a true Shaolin BAWS! Practice, practice, practice.
Also, ward-hopping is fun.
As for top, well... He doesn't seem to have many hard match-ups because his resource is energy and he can go to town on almost anyone. I guess the only champions that beat him out are the ones who come up better in trades - that would be
