Merry Christmas to y'all! Have great time on holidays and a happy new year!
Hope you like my Captain Teemo drawing. Merrily & Swiftly!
As far back as I can remember, maybe even farther back than the foggy memories of my first Christmas, my family has been baking the best chocolate chip walnut cookies you'll ever have.
The recipe for these cookies has always been known as "[Our surname] Famous Christmas Cookies". Each year, the batch of cookies would get bigger and bigger as more friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers hoped to receive a bag of them for Christmas. The collage I've included contains assorted photos of the cookies from 2004 (middle photo) to 2020.
Many things changed over the years--the kitchen was remodeled, we started using a rubbermaid tote to mix the cookie dough, we experimented with the ratios and baking times...
Many bigger things changed in our lives over the years, too--my siblings and I graduated college, my older brother was the first to leave home, my father passed away in 2014...
Despite the many ups and downs of life, my family has continued to bake our famous Christmas cookies every year without fail. I think that's part of what makes Christmas so special--traditions.
Change can mean that not every Christmas will look the same. Some traditions fade, but others can be born at any time. It's really up to each of us. For my family, our Christmas cookies have been a constant. After all, what heals the heart and soul more than a warm chocolate chip cookie?
My family doesn't celebrate Christmas, but my favorite Christmas memory is definitely yesterday when I finally reached diamond for the first time !! The key was really never giving up no matter how doomed a game might seem. Even if your botlane is 0/10 at 5 mins, those are exactly the games in which you need to perform to rank up.
Also made my favorite oreo cake for the whole fam to celebrate c:
Happy holidays everyone!
I don't normally celebrate Christmas, but this year I wanted to have a Christmas tree and managed to get one before Christmas. It's very life-like and beautifully decorated 😌
Hello everyone!
As usual, my family goes all out for Christmas every single year and 2025 is no exception for us. Even better, it is the first time we decided not to have a real Christmas tree. But that did not stop us from putting into practice our ‘’holiday extravaganza’’ decorating style.
Last week, we bought a 2.5 meters tall artificial tree, which is gorgeous on its own. It has snowy branches and glittery red berries in it, making the perfect canvas for our brand new sets of baubles, bows and ribbons. I was given the ‘’power’’ to decide on the theme of the tree, so I went with a classic combo of red and gold, along with sights of pink. You can see the results here, but believe me when I say I was never prouder of my handiwork:
Since the big big tree barely fit into my living room, I decorated a smaller tree for my parents’ room. This one is blue and silver themed, with a few streaks of gold here and there. Small and adorable, as always
In case you didn’t know, this year’s trend in Christmas decorations are reindeers. Particularly the ones with extendable feet or with dangling ones. I couldn’t let my study room without décor, so I bedazzled it with such a cute reindeer, like this.
To complete the picture of my fully Christmas decorated house, I have left the (smaller) masterpiece last, my third tree, that sits in my room. It is a joy to go to sleep and wake up to the sight of it, as well as it is an emotional reminder of my past Christmases. And that is because I have put 5 ‘’trinkets’’ at the base of it, each with its own story.
From left to right, you can see, first, a snow globe with 3 dogs inside, which my parents gifted me the first Christmas we spent with our dog, Maxi. He actually resembles the smaller white dog inside the globe. Then there is a Stitch Christmas bell that I recently got while shopping with my mom this month. It was actually in a blind box, so there was a small 1 in 12 chances to get my favorite Disney character’s bell, but my mom picked it and it was amazingly lucky we got Stitch. It’s my good luck token for this Christmas, to be honest. In the middle and on its right, there are a small Lego reindeer and a small snow globe, both being gifts from 2020 and 2021 when I was studying abroad and was feeling lonely being away from my parents for the holiday seasons, so the only shoulder I could cry on was my friend’s. She gifted me these in 2 different years, making my holidays bright and lifting my spirits up. Lastly, you can see a Stitch Funko pop Christmas edition, which I got this year from my workplace Secret Santa celebration. I still do not know who gifted it to me, but it was definitely a perfect pick.
This concludes my extremely long post, which I truly hope you enjoyed reading through. It was a little emotional for me to put my words into writing, especially regarding the memories I have of the past Christmases. But all in all, that is proof such bittersweet moments will always be kept close to my heart and I am happy to share them now with you guys, hoping it will empower others to find joy in the small details of our lives and of our celebrations.
I wish you a Merry Christmas!
Love,
Karina
I wanted to wish you all happy holidays and a Merry Christmas. Thank you for your company this year and may you spend a happy holiday with your loved ones.
Here is one of my favorite sweet snacks during Christmas.
They can be filled with chocolate cream but I started to eat more healthy so I decided to fill them with jam, just to see my mother roll them in sugar later on😭... Also, I don't have a real Christams tree but I drew one for myself. Hope you like it🥰
Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year: food, family and of course.... a Christmas tree!!
This year we even bought a small tree for my little girl, which she decorated all by herself. We didnt put any presents underneath it - she would have opened them in a heartbeat.
I love cooking and we always go all out during the holidays. Dessertsz, however.... not so much. I’m terrible at baking, I don’t enjoy it, and it definitely shows. Luckily, over the years I’ve found some amazing idiot-proof Christmas desserts that never fail. I’d love to share two of them with you!
Mascarpone Passion
Ingredients
150 g mascarpone
50 g powdered sugar
150 g frozen passion fruit (or 5–6 fresh ones)
A few small meringues
1 mango (or strawberries, pineapple, or any fruit you like)
Preparation
Add the powdered sugar to the passion fruit (I usually sift out the seeds first).
Combine this with the mascarpone and mix until smooth.
Peel and cut the mango into small pieces. For Christmas, I often use strawberries instead — for that festive red color.
Plate the fruit and mascarpone mixture together. Crush a few meringues over the top and finish with one meringue on top. I like to use pistachio meringues (https://www.ah.nl/producten/product/wi602910/ah-excellent-meringue-toefjes-pistachesmaak) for the green color, which makes it extra Christmassy.
Salted caramel meringues (https://www.ah.nl/producten/product/wi468133/ah-mini-meringues-salted-caramel
) are also excellent if you’re going more for flavor than color.
"Bokkepootjes" Ice Cream
Here in the Netherlands, we have these cookies called "bokkenpootjes". They’re okayish on their own, they're pretty dry. Put them in ice cream, though— and they’re incredible.
Ingredients
1 box bokkepootjes (https://www.ah.nl/producten/product/wi517316/ah-bokkenpootjes)
1 tub of whipped cream ice cream (https://www.ah.nl/producten/product/wi221726/hertog-slagroomijs)
Preparation
Let the ice cream soften in a large bowl.
Crush the bokkepootjes and mix them in by hand (yes, your hands will freeze).
Put everything back in the tub and return it to the freezer.
That’s it. Super easy —and unbelievably tasty.
Thanks for reading, and happy holidays to everyone!
May your Christmas be full of good food, cozy moments, and winning games!
This is my Christmas tree this year. It’s small and simple compared to a lot of people’s, but we don’t have much space in the house, and it still does a good job of bringing in the Christmas spirit.
I also tried making cheese-filled Christmas bao buns for the first time (we usually just buy them from the store). I used a basic steamed bao dough, added different food colourings, and filled them with a mix of melty cheeses, then had some fun shaping them into festive designs (Snowman and raindeer pictured). These were the best ones out of all the batches I made.
They were warm, fluffy, and very cheesy — perfect comfort food. It’s not a traditional Christmas dish where I’m from, but experimenting in the kitchen and sharing something homemade felt very fitting for Christmas this year.
if anyone wants the receipt it can be found here: https://www.wyldflour.com/fluffy-cheese-stuffed-bao-aka-softest-grilled-cheese-in-the-world/ (Note: If you want the unique colours/designed you need to add food colouring/and shape the dough before cooking).
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
Hello everyone, Olafs wish you a merry Christmas🎄
