random thread. don't be nervous. women love confidence. what's the worst thing that could happen? she says no? and you don't go...or you don't ask and you don't go....plenty of fish in the sea to ask also. plus you ain't half bad lookin' ;)
school dances are just practice for the bar scene. and the bar scene is practice for building business relations.
just think of it like practicing LoL. maybe you fail a lot to get better but after failing and picking yourself up you get better at it.
hmm i think i rambled a bit. oh well. i'm old. it is allowed.
P.S. if you do get to go. get a kiss at the end of the night. hugs are for chumps.

I never cared for school dances. Quite frankly, as far as I can tell, everyone dances like white people b/c the adults are there and drink punch.
Meanwhile, I could just as easily get some friends together and watch movies + eat chocolate.
I think the latter sounds more fun.

^ well i am white and apparently i 'dance like a black guy' so that is that. who doesn't enjoy grinding on some hot chick eh? i know i do.
definitely not for everyone though. i had a blast at my dances. but all in all missing them wouldn't dramatically affect your life...unless you met your spouse...but that is like 1/10000000
@ GMD
that's what i told all my dates actually. that is all i will admit to. +1 for u.

Me and my breaking friends create a circle and we have a throw down wherever we are and the situation is appropriate, such as a school dance. Or clubbing. Or just randomly on the streets. Or London expo.

Have you guys ever gone to one? Any thoughts on them? I'm going to ask a girl out to my school's winter formal tomorrow, and just working up the courage to do it is harder than getting to diamond 1 was. Wish me luck X_X
Yup, I hated my date, my friend set me up, but I had a great time even without her. They're a lot of fun, and the main thing is to make sure you're having a good time.
Don't be nervous. It's a single high school dance, it doesn't mean ****. This isn't going to be the person you spend your life with or anything. I mean what's the worst she could say? No? I mean that's the same result you would get by never asking her so you quite literally have nothing to lose. Just be confident

I'm a white person and I dance at clubs or bars. I mean, I'm not trying to look cool when I dance, I'm pretty horrendous, I'm just trying to have fun which is what it's all about

Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!
Having gone to a few ones in the lately, I'd have to say it just isn't my kind of thing. Most young adults my age prefer the club music part and dancing vividly, which is fine, but I just don't really appreciate music which will ruin my ears (especially when it's rather mediocre one).
I'd love to have a splendid conversation, but those things just aren't there for such matters. My boredom is/was most often bored out of itself, and whilst I plan going to another one next year, I'll probably skip those which are happening in the near future.

Tah beh, or nat tah beh. BOOM! Nat tah beh.

I've heard this before.
Dances are fun, especially when you get asked to dance.
