win 8 was mainly designed for tablats and generally touch screens. I don't see any reason for me to get it on a no-touch-screen device. And who cares if they support it or not. Win XP is still running here on some pc...

Yeah, the whole desktop portion of the OS was a freaking afterthought >.>
They seriously added that towards the end of development when they realized that the interface wasn't gonna cut it for desktop computers.
That is why the Windows 8 operating system is so fragmented.
I don't even want Windows 8 on touch devices, the fragmentation is very obvious there as well and it's bloated as all hell; I think you have about 16GB free on a 32GB Windows 8 tablet, which is horrendous compared to the ~28GB free space you have on Android/iOS tablets..
