Support Bonus Expansion: Component Upgrade Scaling
Current Bonuses:
Cheaper control wards → encourages vision and map control
Rewards upgrade items → fully upgrading a support item grants a bonus (e.g., Bloodsong from World Atlas)
Proposed Addition – Minor Component Upgrades:
Once a support item (e.g., Atlas → Bloodsong, Opposition, Sleigh) is fully upgraded, supports can choose to upgrade T1 components into T2 components and integrate them into the Epic/Legendary items. This works for single-component items (e.g., Dusk and Dawn: upgrade one T2 from the Dagger) or multi-component items (e.g., Bandlepipes: upgrade both T1s into T2s, such as Cloth Armor → Steel Sigil and Null-Magic Mantle → Spectre’s Cowl).
Strategic Choice for Supports:
Swap / Standard Scaling (currently in play): remove or replace the support item for situational stats (e.g., more MR), but lose all incremental upgrades and item bonus (~200 HP, 75% health+mana regeneration, 9g/10s, plus chosen item effect).
or
Incremental Upgrade Scaling: keep the support item indefinitely and retain all component upgrades and item bonuses, locking in late-game build-dependent scaling.
This system gives supports meaningful choices: flexibility vs long-term power, while rewarding planning, investment, and team utility.
PS: Over the months, I’ve shared a lot of suggestions and theorycrafting—from Reksai tuning to my most recent ideas—without much commentary. I’d really love to hear what viewers think about these concepts, as your thoughts could help me in future ideas, rather than having feedback only reflected through “views vs. time since posted.” -G359
