League of Legends (LoL) Question: Good champions for climbing the ladder

Good champions for climbing the ladder

I mostly play jungle/supp/mid and I main Shaco and Bard. Climbing has been really slow for me, so I was wondering if there's any champions I could pick up that are particularly strong for climbing at the moment. I recently bought Rengar and achieved a whooping 14% winrate in normals after buying him, despite performing decently well. Should I stick with Rengar? Or are there better alternatives?

The best way to climb the ladder is to really practice and be familiar with your champion, and, of course, have decent game knowledge. If you're too lazy to do that, well, your best bet would be to pick a champion at the top of the tier lists.

It's quite possible to climb with Rengar but he does require practice and lots of it. He's rewarding if you put in the effort. Unfortunately, if you don't have decent game knowledge, game mechanics, and/or decision making, it won't matter how much effort you put in, it won't work well.

As Maintained said, the champion isn't the main reason why people climb the ELO ladder. Sure, it's often slightly better to play the OP champions and avoid the bad ones, but in the end the main reason why you climb the ladder is a higher win rate with certain champions. This depends on your mastery you have with the champions you play and maybe the current meta (you shouldn't play Riven if you wanted to climb fast in the tank meta, for example).

You should know a champion's role during laning phase, during mid and late game, its strenghts and weaknesses, and if its playstyle is of your liking, among other stuff. For example, if you like to farm passively in lane you should pick a hyperscaling late-game champion instead of an early game bully with ****py late-game. If you like to go in in teamfights pick a bruiser/tank with AoE, whereas if you like to splitpush pick a duelist with heavy single target damage/CC.

Also, the only way to "climb fast" is to be significantly better than the average player on your ELO, or maybe if you get a streak during your first 50 games of the season. Other than that you will have to play a lot of games to climb a lot.
