The growth of eSports has been a wonder, and LoL has been a major part of its growth. Generally, eSports has had a steady growth through the classic word of mouth; where clans and communities were formed from like minded people. Now with the advent of easily accessible games, the future of eSports has never been brighter.
Where Europe was segregated to its CS/quake scene, Asia dominated by DotA and South Korea by SC:BW, America has finally gotten in the bandwagon, pioneering such games as Halo, COD, LoL and SCII. With multi-titled tournaments catering for all eSport fans like MLG, NASL and the recent WCG, the growth of eSports is apparent.
However to fully legitimize this phenomenon, we require a more mainstream method of spotlighting this movement to the masses. For example, twitter trends, facebook and social media in general would be the first choice.
Luckily for us we can spotlight eSports, literally.
Here is a link to a monthly youtube contest where a four channels picked from thousands have the chance to be featured on the homepage of youtube. Of the four channels, there exist the channel aptly named, 'ThePortraitArt'. This channel features one of the most beautiful and interesting pieces of art on all of youtube.
Why is this related to eSports? Well the artist is well known for creating portraits of well known eSports figures (as well as more conventional people) and has been a contributor to the growth of eSports. What I am asking you to do is simply to follow this link here and vote for 'ThePortraitArt';

There's no sign required or nothing, just go in there and vote. Also, there is suspicious activity with the sudden growth of the other channel in serious contention, JenniferESL; it would seem that someone is using bots to boost the votings of that particular channel. If you refresh the page it always goes up is exorbitant votes despite the relatively small following of each of the four channels.
So, despite the different games that we all play and enjoy, I think its time to put away that fanboism, and embrace the phenomenon of eSports as a whole. Rome was not created overnight, and niether was eSports. It was built upon the solid base of a multitude of games, and it will require a multitude of titles to continue to grow. So eSport fans unite, we can beat those pesky bots and launch eSports into the spotlight!
