"Try using thinner borders, like on the last one, and give cinematic borders a try - where you only have the black line across the top and bottom, and not on the sides. Also you can change the colour of the borders, they don't have to be black ^^

(Also, after a brief look at your story, I have but one point to make; you get tenses mixed up here and there, ending up with paragraphs like "She threw herself on me... I hold her to my chest". Poss"
