Views: 1024 Why do people seem to rage quit on their Guides?

So It hasnt happened a lot but it did happen quite recently with a person whose name Im not gona mention but they created a guide on
Karthus. Now as a person who mains
Karthus Im always excited to see new guides and what they say. To put it simply it was horrible. Nothing but a wall of text with little to no real info involved. (i.e. rune chapter consisted of "There is no Better" for every rune he used).
I had little time down voted and I pointed out some general stuff to work on and that I would post more specifics latter when I had time. (some one had already referred him to the "how to make a guide" guide). I went back to see if he had responded or changed anything and I found that the guide had been archived and I have still have revived no response and he has not been on site since he archived the guide.
This is not the first time I have noticed this happening. (it is the first time i had left a longer post on a guide that went archived and user disappeared). I guess what im asking is why I see so many random and badly written guides with people who dont want to try and just rage quit when they get down voted? Also is trying to point out what needs to be changed a bad thing or am I making the community better by helping to occasionally weed out a bad guide writer?
Just wanted to see what you guys think about it.

Some people do understand that if you want positive feedback, you have to show people that 1) you have worked hard to write what you published and 2) you have a brain and what you write makes sense. But others just don't understand that, and expect positive feedback even when they write ****.
Most often, guides are downvoted for three reasons: 1) bad content, 2) bad structure/layout/grammar
I believe this would be what happened with regard to the specific guide i was referring too, and I may have been a little harsh with the way I put it but it looked like it was thrown together in about an hour or 2 max.
all in all I think your right in that the troll voting is kind of the problem overall but that cant be avoided without completely changing the system which is unnecessary.
BTW again just wanted to say thanks to all who have commented so far....THANK YOU!!!!

Most often, guides are downvoted for three reasons: 1) bad content, 2) bad structure/layout/grammar and 3) troll. Reasons 1 and 2 are generally due to a lack of work, and people unwilling to put more effort into their guide may ragequit when they're downvoted for these reasons.
Reason 3 is simply unfair and is a side effect of the fact that the privilege of voting is granted to anybody here on MobaFire: guides are not peer-reviewed (actually, they are through the Scout point system, but it is a secondary stat compared to the community votes). As in everyday life, douchebags are everywhere; but unlike IRL, they tend to have a more disruptive behavior on the Internet, because they're feeling protected by their screen. A little troll would most probably not dare come to anybody in real life saying "GUIDE SUCKS DOWNVOTE NO TRIFORCE ON SHYVANA FAIL" without adding anything else, because he knows that what he's doing is unfair.
Don't misunderstand, though: I'm not saying that open voting is bad; actually, it is the only solution for newcomers to have easy access to valuable content (plus, peer review is already implemented through the Scout point system). But I point out the fact that the drawback of the open voting system is the possibility for trolls to disrupt the community. Now, concerning guide ragequitting, troll votes are, imho, the most frustrating kind of feedback you can have and can lead to ragequit more often than any kind of constructive criticism.
"VOTED -1
so many things wrong with this guide. Frozen Mallet and Trinity Force is mind boggling, terrible summoner choices, Boots of Swiftness not really necessary, lots of misinformation, terrible rune selection, quoting ColbyCheeze
about the only you got right with this guide is the masteries"
Now this isn't all that rude (it could have been nicer sure but whatever) But honestly it crushed me at first. That is why people quit their builds. They have that "sit back and marvel" feeling and then all of a sudden SMACK* comes your downvote. Some people just can't take it. They lose their confidence and they just quit. Obviously I didn't and I actually adressed all the problems found by the commenter, but some people can't do that. It's a very emotional thing to put so much effort into something and then just be told it's garbage by someone who probably never tried it or even read most of it.
Just my 2 cents.
Thanks for the help.
Do people think guides are perfect through one process.
Mine went through like 3 major face-lifts and it's still not perfect yet..
I remember jhoijhoi calling my guide a "Cinderella Story". ^^
Only downvote guides that are terribad, like 6 sets of boots on
She stacks them up.
