This guide is based off of TPA Bebe's Blue Build. In fact it is TPA Bebe's Blue Build, and I am not taking any credit of it except for the optional items, the time that it took to make this guide. This guide is made to help people who wish to try this build. To honour (yes I spelt it with a "U" and I said "spelt" instead of spelled, because I am Canadian :P ) TPA Bebe, I bought the TPA skin and have used the TPA skin in the display.

TPA Bebe: Ezreal.

Introduction

Hey guys, this is my first guide ever, and so I wanted to find something easy to start out with. I am a silver V player, who plays ranked once in a while with friends. I am trying to get better everyday, until I reach a point where all I play would be ranked. My IGN is DefiledxBaus, and I am in NA. My favourite champs include; Ezreal who I have been playing with since level 13, Nocturne, Cho'Gath, LeBlanc, Jarvan IV, Leona, and Elise. I main jungle and ADC, but I am open to playing any lane. Well with my self-advertisement out of the way I welcome you all to my first ever Ezreal Guide. Anyways moving away from all the credits, I welcome any and all constructive criticism. I ask everyone who is voting to not down vote without a reason.

I would also like to thank Shelooked16tome, who's guide I had followed and where I had learnt this build. He also has a match up list of other ADC's to go against, I do urge everyone to give it a look, to learn a little more, other than that stick to my guide. :)

SPECIAL THANKS: Credits to jhoijhoi for the template, which you can find here. I know it has been said but, I want to personally thank jhoijhoi for her wicked and easy to understand guide which is linked above. Anyone who wishes to make a guide check her awesome guide out. This guide would be pretty ****py looking without it.

I think this is a good way to introduce Ezreal. Thank you Riot for an awesome skin, and an awesome champ.

Pros and Cons

Pros / Cons

Pros

+ Essence Flux Helps Team
+ Kiting
+ Personal Attack Speed Boost
+ Short CD on Mystic Shot (on-hit)
+ Personal Flash
+ Sustain Damage all Game

Essence Flux boosts the team's attack speed, as long as it passes through them. Kiting is a gift sent from the heavens, for Ezreal. With this build you can kite a Renekton or any other champion without any problem and kill them after kiting them. Arcane Shift allows acts as a flash for over walls and a damaging tool.
Cons

- No Form of CC
- Squishy (Like any ADC)
- Skill shot Paradise (3/4 skills)
- Get Focused
- Useless without items
- Kiting

Ezreal has no form of crowd control whatsoever, and he gets focused in team fight, since he is squishy. You must be able to kite or else, it will be hard to 1 v 1 other carries with this build. The only way to kite is if you land your skill shots.

Ezreal, do you Require a Map?

This is one of my favourite videos for Ezreal. It was released when the Pulsefire Skin was released.

Masteries

The 21-9-0 serves its purposes for me. Almost...no every ADC should be running this method. 21 points in offense help give the damage for early and late game. Let's go a little in-depth explanation here. 3 points in Fury will give u the attack speed needed for early fights and farming. 4 points in Sorcery is essential, for this build. As I said earlier this build is trying to achieve more utility than the average damage. Now 4% cool down reduction this early is really good, and lets you shoot those Mystic Shot regularly. Deadliness , Havoc , Brute Force and Executioner all work together to increase your base attack, and make the enemy be afraid. Sunder and Weapon Expertise combined with Last Whisper allows Ezreal to, as Phreak would say, Deal Ton of Damage .

Now the 9 in defense gives you the early protection you need. The reason for 3 points in Hardiness and 1 point in Resistance is because the damage dealer in the bottom lane is most likely the enemy ADC, and you need to protect yourself from him, much more than the support. Durability gives more health regeneration all through out the game. Veteran's Scar isn't that important late game, because 30 hp is usually 1/5 or even less of what most ADC's hit, but early game is where this 1 point will help out a lot.

Summoner Spells

Flash: This is a live saver, a game maker, a play-maker, whatever you want to call it. Ezreal has his Arcane Shift but that doesn't mean you can ignore Flash. You can Arcane Shift over a wall, and if the enemy follows you with their Flash, well you can easily Flash back over the wall and you have escaped. Never ever substitute this with any other summoner spell.

Ignite: This spell works wonders. It secures kills; it reduces the effects of healing by 50%. Most importantly it deals true damage.

Barrier: I have yet to fully try out barrier, but I have seen it used properly. It can give you that upper hand in a 1 v 1, it can save you from a random Noxian Guillotine from Darius, and save you from Ignite. I personally prefer Ignite over this, but then again it is totally up to the players, whether they take this or Ignite. But never substitute Flash for either one.

Items

Item Sequence

Spirit of the Elder Lizard 2000
Muramana 2900
Iceborn Gauntlet 2600
Ionian Boots of Lucidity 950
Last Whisper 1450
Blade of the Ruined King 3200

This is also a season 3 item. This item gives you the same buff as the Elder Lizard, or rather the red buff. Rushing this item means you have the red buff forever until you sell this item. It gives you bonus health and mana regeneration, bonus damage, cool down reductions, and my favourite bonus true damage to anything you hit with whether your basic attacks or Mystic Shot.

So this item gives you 1000 mana, more Mystic Shot, and 20 attack damage, 7 Mana Regeneration. At first this item seems useless for Ezreal but its abilities are what makes this item worth it. It passively gives you 2% of you maximum mana as bonus AD, and its active uses 3% of your mana to deal 6% of your current mana as extra damage.

I love this item so much. As of season 3 some new items were introduced, some of which are Ravenous Hydra, Runaan's Hurricane and my favourite the Iceborn Gauntlet An item that provides 30 ability power, which scales with both Essence Flux and Arcane Shift, 70 armour, 10 percent cool down reduction, alongside an AOE damaging field that does 125% of the champion's base AD, and lasts for 2 second and slows the enemy's movement speed by 30%. This item is the best for kiting, and then turning around and unleashing a beast.

These boots let you use your Mystic Shot more often which in hand lowers the cool down of every other skill Ezreal uses. It also gives the passive 15 percent cool down, which will total up to 40 percent (maximum) cool down with all your items.

Is the enemy stacking armour to counter you? Is there a tanky Leona? Well here we present to you the item that will do wonders for an ADC. Who doesn't want attack damage and armour penetration?

I personally prefer this over Bloodthirster because it gives you attack speed, life steal, attack damage, and it can slow a running enemy while dealing a huge amount of damage based of their health. On top of all those it also deals damage based of the enemy's max health with basic attacks and Mystic Shot.

Wards

Sight Ward

Yes, I made a chapter solely on wards. Wards are the most important items in the game. If you die, don't blame the poor support who had a Ruby Sightstone 3 Sight Ward and 1 Vision Ward the last time she came back. Those wards expire after a certain time. In addition it is not solely the job of the support to buy wards, if they did that, they wouldn't be able to buy more important items to save yours or your team's behind, like Runic Bulwark. Here is a lovely video by an awesome Youtuber, and a League player named gregidot (on youtube) who explains the importance of wards. Trust me, when I say this it won't kill to buy a sight ward or two to help your support. Also just simply thanking them will make their days, so yes, wards are an important part of this game, and thus it is an important part of this build. After my beautiful rant here I represent the video made by gregidot.

Ability Explanation

  • Rising Spell Force: This is an awesome passive for an ADC. Early game when you haven't had a chance to build attack speed, you can still duel with champions. Every time an ability that Ezreal uses lands on an enemy it gains one stack which last for 5 seconds and gives Ezreal 10 percent attack speed per stack and stacks 5 times. You can use this to your advantage. Let's say there is a hidden Teemo in the bush, you can Arcane Shift into that bush and if your passive gets 1 stack, well, I guess we found ourselves a rat that needs killing.
  • Mystic Shot (Q): This skill is debated and hated so much on all forums about League. A skill that has a relatively low cool down, combined with a 1.0 AD ratio, and applies on-hit abilities like Iceborn Gauntlet, Bloodthirster, Trinity Force, Blade of the Ruined King, Spirit of the Elder Lizard and many more. Basically the on-hit means, that Mystic Shot acts like an auto attack if it hits an enemy. It lowers the cool down of every other spell that is in cool down mode, including Trueshot Barrage if it hits any targets, yes, minions too. This skill has a long range however minions can get in its way and stop it from hitting an enemy champion.
  • Essence Flux (W): After the nerf that Ezreal got, his Essence Flux is not as popular since it doesn't lower the attack speed of enemies but it still boosts his if you hit someone. The extra point it gives Rising Spell Force is the only reason to getting 1 point in it around level 4. This also acts as an attack speed increasing steroid for your team, as long as it passes through your ally. This skill has a shorter ranges but it passes through minions.
  • Arcane Shift (E): An ability that helps with positioning, escaping, engaging...think Flash but with a low cool down, and it damages the nearest target. This ability lets you screw around with your enemy's mind. Play mind games with it. I would advise not to use this to engage but rather as an escape or chase method
  • Trueshot Barrage (R): The range on this skill is global, meaning anywhere on the map. This skill can go through minions and champions until it leaves Summoner's Rift. However the only flaw it goes in a straight line. If this skill hits 4 minions or 4 things along the way, it gives Rising Spell Force 4 stacks out of 5. It scales well with AD and AP, and its cool down can be reduced using Mystic Shot

Here is a montage by BottlecapsGames which will show sniping champions with Trueshot Barrage

Skill Sequence

I usually start out with leveling my Mystic Shot over any other skill. Due to its ability of to activate on-hit abilities I love it. It also has a relatively low cool down, and it can allow you to reduce the cool down of every other skill. This means that a maxed out Mystic Shot just lets you shoot out more Trueshot Barrage. Maxing out your Arcane Shift 2nd allows you to position yourself better. As I said earlier I don't recommend using Arcane Shift to engage into the enemy unless you have your Flash because for Ezreal his Arcane Shift is his escape tool. Keeping your Essence Flux for last to level. Aside from its attack speed steroid it serves no purpose whatsoever for Ezreal as an AD Carry. It wastes too much mana, and its burst is not that strong either, unless you will build AP Ezreal. I have heard a few people choosing to level Essence Flux over Mystic Shot, but if you do that you will lose damage output and lane dominance.

Team Fights: Make or Break

If you are totally new to ADC champs, I will give you a quick tutorial. Stay as far away as possible, your nexus is way to far. Jokes aside, as an ADC champion like Ezreal, {{Miss Fortune]], Ashe, Caitlyn, and etc. then your job is to stay behind you team during team fights. This is so you can deal all the damage necessary and be able to escape. If you are too close to the enemy bruiser; Renekton, Jayce, Garen, or the enemy assassin like; Irelia, Kha'Zix, Akali they will easily tear you into tiny pieces, figuratively speaking, and win the team fight.

Now I have heard people saying aim for the enemy ADC, and then proceed in order of importance by damage. For example ADC Vayne> AP Ryze> Jungle Nocturne> Bruiser Jayce> Support Sona. I totally disagree with this, because it sounds unrealistic. Sure the enemy Vayne is important to kill, but what are the chances that she will ever be the easiest to kill. The same way that you are behind your team, she will be behind hers. My methods have been kill the one that poses the most threat to your life. Taking the previous team setup, I would focus them in the following way; Jungle Nocturne> Bruiser Jayce> ADC Vayne> AP Ryze> Support Sona. Now here is my reasoning, most likely if a team fight occurs the enemy Nocturne will Paranoia to you, and the Jayce will To The Skies! to you. Your best hope would be Arcane Shift followed by Flash to keep your distance and kite them. This will keep them off you, thanks to your Iceborn Gauntlet, and you will kill them. By this time, your team has either shut down Vayne or Ryze, since they don't have their tanks to protect them. You can easily come back in with your Arcane Shift and join in the fight. However if you catch Vayne positioned incorrectly, away from her team, don't hesitate take her out and get a big problem off your teams and your own hands.

You can use your Essence Flux to boost your team's attack speed. The catch is that the skill should go through your allies. You can also use this to boost your own attack speed with Rising Spell Force as long as it hits an enemy. If you ever die, your team's chances of winning the fight are slim to none, because you are the damage dealer. Losing a team fight means, losing Baron, a Turret, an Inhibitor or the game, so make sure you win every team fight.

This is one of my favourite videos of kiting with Ezreal. Thanks to Wyman Chung, for the video.

Farming

Farming is an essential for an ADC. I cannot stress how important it is to have CS. Never ever agree to a kill lane. Personally I believe it is stupid, waste of time, and on top of all of that it makes the AD Carry totally useless. If an ADC has less 250 farm after a 40 minute game, there is no point for that ADC. With Ezreal you can use your Mystic Shot to last hit a minion if required. I would recommend using your Mystic Shot as often as you please once you get your Tear of the Goddess. This will allow you to farm your Tear of the Goddess and get CS.

Now I want to stress, that if your support by accident gets a CS, you will not die. You will not lose out on an item if you miss out 15-30 gold. Here is a video simply showing how to farm, and aggro the enemy AD Carry. I will thank jedidwag for the video and commentary. Totally optional for watching or ignoring.

Summary

Overall I will thank everyone who read this guide, commented, voted, and criticized it. As I said earlier it is my first guide, it would be nice to receive some criticism back, and I am always open to constructive criticism. Please do not down vote without a reason, or because you or your friend own an Ezreal guide.

Enjoy your time playing with Ezreal, a champion with high mobility, high skill cap and most importantly an awesome array of skins.

Thank you TPA Bebe for an outstanding build. Thank you Riot for an outstanding champion. And thank you League community for your feedbacks. This guide will be regularly updated to the best of my abilities in order to retain its idealness (<<not a word I know).

SPECIAL THANKS: Credits to jhoijhoi for the template, which you can find here.

Final Video

The following video will also provide a brief outlook on Ezreal, a quick summary if I say so. I am aware that some of the skills have had their tweaks, but I have explained those tweaks. The video is posted by Ciderhelm.
