His level one shield gives 100 and the new one will give 105, excluding any bonus health.
Right now most people start with 630 HP in the jungle, which means 54 bonus health. (108 shield with current W) (109 with the updated W)
So at level 1 it's the same thing.
The only real way OLD W can beat the new one is if you've been stacking health are level 14 and never put a second point in shield or if you're level 9 with zero hp stacked. (troll builds)
And TBH I always max the **** out of that shield.

theyre not going to nerf naut because hes still not that great of a champion, you have to remember he deals almost no damage when his shield is down so hes going to lose most 2v2s during the early game

Well damn, maybe he is better. I haven't been able to play him in ages, but I'll see how he goes.
^ Did you just make thread to QQ about change on champion that you haven't played in long time, without even trying them? This is new kind of ****post, I think I'm witness future of league of legends.

But that'd mean they'd consider nerfing him; and I won't stand for such.

Didn't you say that was your job in another post of mine?

You understand the difference of bonus HP and max HP?
300+0.15*x=85+0.17*2038+0.17*x
x=(-6573)
You know what this means? At no possible amount, the new shield can be worse than the old shield lategame.
Shield strength at level 18 without any bonus HP.
300 vs 85+0.17*2038=413.46
Wrong, it is a bonus Hp scaling. So the shield strength would be 300+1500*0.15=525
Had forgotten it was base; I'd still rather have the old shield for the simple fact of early-game Nautilus. They even talked about how bad his early game was in the description of his update and went through with it regardless.
The ability to gank and cc dive a champ with a 400 health shield is SUPER helpful. Otherwise early-game Nautilus is anchor/shield/slow/ult/walk away.
