League of Legends (LoL) Question: Need to find suitable top lane champions

Need to find suitable top lane champions

Hallo! I need assistance in finding champions that are often found in the top lane. I am a Support main that prefers poke-oriented champs like Sona and Karma. I am playing also in the mid lane which I prefer champions with burst damage like Ahri and Lux. Currently, I am using Kayle as my current champion when I am in top lane. I have plans also to try Kennen and Lulu in top lane. Is my selection okay, or do you have any suggested top lane champs that I should try on? Anyway, I play ranked games, and have a significant success.

If you want to stick to ranged champions, Lulu, Lissandra, Morgana and Vladimir are great options. Kayle is a bit weak but runnable.

I observed also that Kayle is not that strong, though manageable through tower (or turret, IDK) hugging. Thank you for the recommendation!

Kayle is a good top lane champion imo, but she's very tricky when it comes to minion wave control because of her E (hard to freeze lanes properly). I wouldn't really recommend her to players who are new to top (which I assume you are based on the fact you seem to play support and mid more often).

Mages such as Morgana, Cassiopeia, Annie, Lissandra, Kennen and Vladimir are all playable top and can make the transition into that role easier for you, but I'd encourage you to try some of the tanks / melee bruisers after a while too, just to get used to the difference in playstyle and expand your knowledge as a player. Irelia would probably be a good champion to start with if you're interested in trying that out.

Thanks for your suggestion! Maybe I'll play as Morgana or Annie first, for I know their playstyle.

I think it depends on your overall play style. Personally being a top main my favorite right now is Tryndamere. But I think it is a matter of preference. There is no issue with playing Kayle top. If your good with her keep at it and get better. But, if you want to play different champs then id suggest Lissandra, Gnar, Jayce, Kennen, Lulu, Nidalee, Ryze, Swain, Vladimir. I only named these because you mentioned poke champs that can attack from a range or up close. But, currently some of the best top laners right now are Irelia, Sion, Hecarim. That is in solo queue. I think you should just keep trying out different champs and see what you like and best of luck to you in further games.

I think Kennen and lulu and very strong picks right now. Kennen is quite a bully but It's his ultimate that makes him strong and without it hes quite weak. Lulu is very safe because even if youre 0/5/0 you can still make a difference with your great utility. I haven't played kayle in a very long time and don't really recommend her. She used to be top tier but after several nerfs she's just not that great anymore. If you want damage dealing poke focused champions kennen, lulu lissandra, and vladimir are very strong atm. Also if you get countered they all can be flexed mid.

I would recommend Quinn, she has good poke, escape and had a really fun ultimate, great for roaming. She is very strong level 2-4, poke the enemy down to 3/4 health with your mark then vault once or twice onto the enemy to get them to about 1/2 health, after this just cs and use your dorans blade to life steal from some minions get to lvl six your enemy should be about 1/2 health, you should be around 3/4 health. Then do this combo vault/ult/q/e/ult again and they are dead. recall do this again = fed

    I would HIGHLY recommend Fiora
She is very solid on top lane especially if in 1v1 situations and even in 2v2 situations if both teams don't have junglers and even if u are in 1v2 situations you will get your ult early which should help you get at least one of them easily and your jungler can help with the other one
but u will havve issues at mana running out early game. just recall and regenerate it and everything should be okay

I'm personally recommend tank cahmps like Maokai how can farm easier and it's a same with Kennen you don't need to be fed to make an impact to the game and also harder to die with him. Also Maokai is a hardly meta champ so you can bring the most stronger champ.

And an other viable choise in my opinion is Shen he is easier to learn and hard to feed with and with your ult can help snowball lanes easier. But if you finding sucess with Kayle i think won't give him up.

That looks pretty much like my champion roster right now, except that I main Leona.

I personally really like to play champions without mana, so Vladimir fits that perfectly well. He can poke all day long, he is relatively safe due to his pool and his sustain, and he never really has to leave lane unless he wants to or he is getting dominated really hard.
He also has an easy time farming under the turret with his Q, so if your opponent is pushing, you don't lose too much CS.
He also doesn't get played a lot, so people sometimes won't know what to do against him.

The only disadvantage here is that Vladimirs range is not that great. You will get used to that pretty quickly though.

Another really solid pick in my opinion is Kennen. No mana, pokes all day, has a decent escape if things go wrong and is amazing in almost every team comp that you can imagine. Even if you are behind, your ult will still be extremely useful due to the buff it received a few months ago.

Oh, I forgot. I am using Leona in Solo Queue sometimes and have a high win rate. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion, I appreciate it!

I think Talon is good option it has good poke with his w and its easy to kill all champs that are not full tank.In that case i suggest you take Cho'Gath that has been OP lately
