I hate music like that so ****in' much, it's barely music. It's pretty much the bad rap of Metal, it just a bunch of sounds that don't go together, anyone can do it and it sounds like ****.
Refer to the first post in this thread where the rules state that we don't trash talk other people's taste in metal. We just love metal. That is all.
Edit: nice pick with the Clayman album though. I personal favorite by In Flames is Jester Race, but Clayman and Colony also top picks in my collection.
I guess that's true, just love Metal. Another great hidden gem Metal band I love though is Killswitch Engage. I know they get some air time, but they still don't headline major concerts and get out shined by Hard Rock bands like Metallica.

That was one of the first metal albums I ever owned! I always looked up to Howard Jones as well when I started doing death vocals as a hobby because he is also a diabetic like me. It sucks he eventually had to leave the band to take care of that.
What do you think of All That Remains or other similar bands?

Howard Jones was one of the first vocalists that get me into death vocals as well, at this point I can get as low as just about any death growler. And, I can get as high as Villa Vallo, or Myles Kennedy. I have a really wide range of vocal notes that I can hit. I also really got into screemo singing because of Atreyu.
I don't listen to enough of ATR to give an honest opinion, I only go to about three of their songs and there's probably some that I can't remember. But, the three go to's that I can think of are Six, Two Weeks and For You.

AH a fellow vocalist? Pretty epic. I myself try more for the sounds of Alexi Laiho of Children of Bodom, or Petri Lindroos in Ensiferum. I like the melodic death metal and folk metal alot. Lately been experimenting with learning to do clean singing, power metal and the likes of HammerFall or Dragonforce. I always end up reverting back to death metal though. xD
I love singing, it's one of my favorite things to do that involves music mainly because I'm not all that good at any instrument. Although, I have a natural ear for song writing and helped my friend write his first song ever on guitar despite not being that good of a guitarist myself. I pretty much like all kinds of vocals for the most part, but if I were to be the vocalist of a band I think I would wanna do a sound mix between H.I.M, In Flames and Killswitch Engage (Howard and Leach).
P.S: This was the first Metal album I ever owned.

The dude that I helped write his first song with is down to play the style of music I wanna play, but everyone else we know doesn't wanna play with us. It's a ***** trying to find band members, I had an idea of starting off as a two-piece just doing acoustics. That idea never took off though. It's whatever though, and I do have a friend that's in a band and they gone through three vocalists now and I'm disappointed that he never hits me up to try out. One thing I do know though, is getting your foot through the door and making connections is more important than personal tastes. Because, you can always break away later on and do your own thing. But, if I were to start a band the name I've had in mind for almost 10 years now is Bloody Skarlet. The name is a deep meaning to me.

Well hey, don't give up on it! I gave up my musical dreams long ago, and I still regret not going forward with it. I still sing from time to time, but only at Karaoke nights at a bar. I wish I could do something big, but I have strayed too far from that path.
