I thought the same to be honest, but then I figured out I just enjoy talking to people. And having a normal job at a grocery store enabled me to do that. I'm not saying what works for me is the same for someone else, but hey, maybe you'll find something else. In the mean time, keep working towards those goals, but don't over do it.
I wouldn't be able to work at a grocery store, strangers make me nervous to talk and I don't want to talk to people that normally shop at those places. I had a job a fast food restaurant and I got let go after two days of working there. Not because I was a bad employee, I had great work ethic and everyone that worked there liked me. I have a phobia of talking about people I don't know, or don't have similar interests as me. I would be able to work in some kind of gaming/pc store, but that's about it. My selection for regular jobs is very limited by who I am. On top of another fact, my left ear is half broken so the store I work would have to be a store that doesn't get a whole lot of customers, or noise. That was another reason I was let go from my job that I was let of after two days because I couldn't hear anything.

it just a bunch of sounds that don't go together, anyone can do it and it sounds like ****.
A lot of people say this about metal as a whole. :P It's not for everyone. Admittedly that song isn't really the greatest of representatives to deathcore seeing as rather than some complex song it's more like instruments providing basic background sound for the vocalist to show off his powerful vocals, but a huge part of what makes deathcore good for most people are the vocals anyway. I'll listen to any song that has gutturals in it, no matter how bad it is.
2 songs I've had stuck in my head recently:
While anyone can literally do that first song you posted. I'm just happy the new Atreyu album is finally dropping. Although, I personally favor metalcore these days because that's where all of the musical talent has been lately.

man this thread reminds me that i haven't listened to metal in forever
what are your thoughts on electronicore?
i personally enjoy the mix, and I feel that the electronica sounds add to the music pretty well in terms of main melodies and breakdowns

It's funny that you 2 both focus more on the singing Xd I'm mostly listen for the guitar (and a friend of mine is more a drums person XD).
However for some reason I do prefer the clean singing over grunging. And for some bands I listen for other reasons (like Alestorm is mostly the subject)
Also as a side note I'm pretty happy about a concert (my first concert too XD) I'm going to in March Sabaton and Alestorm (and Bloodbound, however with my personality to not searching for new bands that quick I haven't heard of them :/)

People tend to fixate on the instrument they play (or wish they could play). For awhile I played Bass and listened for that a lot too, but I gave up on that and now only really care about vocals.
And lucky! I havent been to a concert in forever. last one I went to was for Ensiferum, Blackguard Darkest Hour and Ex Deo

If I could achieve a career in at least one of those four things and be successful in it I would be happy. At the end of the day, I just really wanna be some kind of entertainer because I enjoy that kind of thing more than anything. I'm the kind of person that can't be happy with a regular job, that's not me. I would be miserable.
