Although I don't actually play Riven, I find this guide pretty cool, because it talks about all the Riven counter (which helps me counter her when I need to)
@ LimitlessHavoc no free clout
oh **** I'm a fraud
Hey there! I'll build ER when up against a squishy enemy team/laner that I know can't really stack armour early or if I'm snowballing very hard early then I'll either build ER or youmuus into cleaver. Hope this helps.
"Why this guide over every other Riven guide?"
Well firstly I won best guide for a champion in the top lane for S6 and S8 on MobaFire amidst fierce competition, I achieved high diamond playing mostly Riven in under 100 games with a 70% WR and finally I make sure to continue to improve whilst ensuring this guide stays just as updated as I am!
First off i nearly always feel more comfortable playing full life steal rather than getting defensive items and while it works at my elo (GOLD V) does it turn into a bad thing when i get to higher elos? Generally i run BT Death Dance and sometimes also Mercurial Scimitar in one game giving me **** ton of life steal but often no form of defensive items. (but the scimitar)
Next after all those games i played with her, i noticed i was starting to win lanes that i normally weren't supposed to win, such as against trundle or Garen. I am extremely careful about how much i think i can do in order to not become the stupid typical feeding riven but a question popped in my mind, can i as Riven win any match ups as long as i play it right? Or are there match ups that no matter how i play them i will loose them from the champ select?
Now about the runes, i actually run a 9 Flat CDR glyphe + 1 Flat CDR quint page and i was wondering why you were thinking it was not worth it. Also why build the boots of lucidity for the 10% increased CDR when you can build a Death Dance or a Youmuu in order to cap at 45% CDR, making you be able to purchase extra tankiness through tabies or mercury's? Also added to the passive those gives.
And finally, well, for now XD;
I am actually a mid laner main and top lane is my second lane. I tried riven several times mid and got pretty good results most of the time, but how is riven mid exactly? (forgetting of course the fact that the team could be Full AD if i picked her, most of the time if i go riven mid the jungler or the top laner take something that deals magic damage.) From my point of view the fact that the mid laners are often ranged is a down side, but the fact that they stay squishy for a lot of them and that the zhonya isn't a big problem for riven is a good side. But how is it in truth?
At your Elo, the answer is definitely yes, you can win any matchup so long as you play it right. There is no player in gold 5 that can beat a perfectly played
Runes: 2.25 AD is a lot to
Items: Because you generally don't want to spend too much gold on boots as they're usually the least impactful item you could buy aside from the +45 movement speed they all give, and Ionians are amongst the cheapest while giving you an extremely quick +10% CDR spike, whereas going Mercs +

I'll play more riven mid from now on. I do play Ahri top after all so why not riven mid~
