I never said anything about validity; I just think it's odd that you link to a Facebook post and then proceed to talk about reading a Reddit thread; one would expect that you'd link the Reddit thread in that case.

I didn't link the reddit post because it's a large thread that's been on the front page and I assumed most people get their LOL news from their anyway. And it sounded like you were dismissing them as a way of getting info.
Why I brought those up was that I was getting the sense that no one had actually read that or the Facebook post and was just randomly saying things they had no idea about. With nicknamemy implying nothing should be a problem since he had gotten a visa in prior years and blaming riot to master saying he had a working visa in prior years when it seemed the reddit consensus was that it was a schengen visa previously and now a work visa is required causing the issue.
I'm not saying reddit is correct, but if there are other sources out there that nickname and master are using to for their opinions I'd honestly love to see them.

Not in the slightest; I just found it odd that you talk about one thing, then link the other.

It's a good link. And yeah, that could be true, but we don't have all the information, obviously.

Same.

As far as I understand it, there is a list of persons who are denied travel into the EU, other than that there shouldn't really be a problem traveling into the EU as a russian if you have a visa. source, the list I am talking about is linked in here.
As far as I know, the actual visa requirements reagrding russia have not changed, so unless he is on that list, he should have been able to get a ususal visa.
edit: Does he want a short-term or a long-term visa? If it is the first, there should't really be much of an issue, if not there are much bigger thresholds.

Wasn't he on a schengen visa before and now is required to get a work visa and the issue is that Germany doesn't see esports as being an athlete/job?
AM I NOT READING THE SAME REDDIT THREAD AS EVERYONE ELSE???

Uh... Okay..?
Anyway, sucks for him, but I suppose that's how it is. I don't know what the exact statement is from the German government but considering what's going on in Germany right now, and the nature of the LCS, I can sort-of understand their point.
Also, for those who want to direct their hate to Germany right now: Direct it at Russia instead.
