Ok, since this is just a build and not a full guide I'll basically just make a list of comments on your build and such.
+ Flash/Ignite. Duh. Right on.
+ Glyphs and Quints are spot on, and though I know Dekar JUST told you to use AD marks, I would say armor pen is better unless you have a truly hard time last hitting. Armor pen marks completely negate the armor seals almost all midlaners have, and by the time you get just one item they become extremely effective. Talon is weak early, and snowballs midgame. It's better to set yourself up for success in the midgame instead of shoring up your weak early game, since just having a little more AD doesn't help much. Combining these with all the armor pen from masteries and items gives you about 59 or so flat pen, which is enough to deal near true damage to squishies.
- Why get scaling armor seals? By midgame and certainly lategame, if Talon gets caught out then he pretty much dies. The tiny amount of extra armor provided by scaling seals won't help much, so it would be better to go full flat armor to help out early game, which is where Talon takes the most harass/poke.
+ Nailed it. This part is perfect.
+ Youmuu's and Tiamat are of course core items.
- I would actually recommend switching Hydra for Tiamat. Here's why:
- Tiamat is the true reason for buying Hydra in the first place: the active (more burst in your combo).
- Tiamat is dirt cheap; Hydra is EXTREMELY expensive. Rushing Tiamat, then moving on to Youmuu's lets you finish Youmuu's MUCH faster than finishing Hydra first. Same logic applies for later items.
- The extra AD from Hydra is certainly nice, but you're going to be spending gold on AD no matter what item you build after Tiamat (finishing Hydra vs. getting Youmuu's or Duskblade). However, by getting Hydra, you're also spending gold on lifesteal, which is NOT an essential stat for Talon. Talon needs AD and Armor pen more than anything else, with CDR and movement speed as secondary stats. Lifesteal falls below all of those because it doesn't help him accomplish his goal in any way: bursting a priority target down before it can react. Lifesteal is a strictly defensive stat; it just relies on other offensive stats to work. The only use Talon will usually get out of it is to heal up after a fight, which can be nice, but still isn't as important as having more AD, armor pen, or CDR.
- So basically what I'm suggesting is to put Tiamat in your core items, but put Hydra in the Damage Choices or Final Build sections.
- Put Duskblade in the core items section. It's too good to not get every single game (for instance, it very easily lets you kill two squishies with your full combo - one you blow up instantly and thus don't waste Duskblade, and the other gets the Duskblade proc).
- Boots of Mobility are strictly better than Boots of Swiftness for Talon. All Talon needs is enough movement speed to jump onto his target; once he reaches his target his job is basically done. To accomplish this, Talon needs all the bonus movement speed he can get. Boots of Swiftness are designed for bruisers and juggernauts to stay in a slugfest and be somewhat more mobile, while Boots of Mobility are explicitly designed for roaming.
+ The other boots aren't bad alternatives, especially Lucidity boots.
+ Good choices here. In almost all of the games I play, Maw is a core items for me because of the armor pen. Just something to keep in mind - it's more of a go-to item than a situational one. Mercurial Scimitar, on the other hand, is very situational.
+ I can't tell if Damagio is a typo or purposefully funny. Either way, I like it :P
+ Black Cleaver is an amazing 5th or 6th item for Talon, mostly because of the CDR. It allows his full combo to be up every 45 seconds or so, and also gives him more movement speed and some tank-shredding ability to help his teammates.
- Lord Dominick's Regards is a very situational item for Talon. Think about his main priority: to blow up high-priority squishies on the enemy backline and get out. This is almost always the ADC or midlaner, who both often have close to the same health as Talon. LDR is designed specifically for tankbusting, not squishy-assassinating. It's a good item for ADCs, but not Talon (most of the time).
+ Good work on making multiple final builds. It's nice to see what kind of options we have to work with and which items have synergy together.
- I don't really like the 3rd build because it has no boots, and Talon needs as much movement speed as possible because he's not a safe assassin like Zed. However, it's not a bad build for extreme lategame - put a note there that says to replace your boots with triforce when you reach full build, because you DEFINITELY needs boots early/midgame.
Overall, this is a great page for figuring out which items are good for Talon! You nailed the starting items and got the important core items in there too. It's not perfectly optimized, but it's definitely solid.
Since this is just a build I'm not going to give it a rating (does't fit any criteria really), but I liked it so I"ll upvote it :3
Changes
I hope you enjoyed this. I don't think a critique would be useful based on my rating system. I'm not used to giving critiques to builds, but it certainly is refreshing from the normal 25,000 character guides I go through.
