What about Kayn and Master Yi? Kayn is really sneaky and I had a really hard time with him. Master yi is purely invisible

Slightly off topic, but are you referencing the album by Genesis with your title? That would make the guide even better :)

Might be wrong, but IIRC it is a reference to that!

Hi, just wondering of your thoughts of the new changes of ahri in upcoming 8.6 patch.

Elusive Ferret (83) | March 13, 2018 7:56am
The changes are great. Her losing the Q movespeed isn't that big of a deal, it was gimmicky and unnecessary anyway so I won't miss it.

I've always played Ahri as an assassin over anything else and my favorite version of her was when she had the damage amp on Charm, so it'll be cool to see it back. Even if they choose to go with a version without the damage amp, she's trading movespeed for damage which I'll take any day.

I think she'll end up being over-tuned tbh, but I won't be complaining :^)

Also, looks like it's being delayed til 8.7 or later.

Hello again Ferret!

Just a quick question on the build path vs. Bursty AP ( LeBlanc, Syndra, Veigar): Would if be more efficient to sit on a Negatron Cloak and Start-Finish a Morellonomicon than to rush Abyssal Mask?

Since the Abyssal Mask nerfs and MR buffs, Negatron Cloak is very efficient, giving 40 MR for 700 gold, but in terms of defenses it takes 2000 gold to get that last 20 MR (strictly from a defensive standpoint, with some offensive stats of course), and since Abyssal Mask now has a scaling component, it isn't really as gold efficient / etcetc at lower levels, whereas Morellonomicon is always great and Negatron Cloak + an extra Doran's Ring + Flat MR Blues should be enough to save you from that one shot. The added CDR and Mana from Morellonomicon also open up the map / freeing you from mid, letting you leave lane a bit more (CDR and mana for more roams, more mana for more plays in general, and it makes it feel like youre on the back foot a lot less). I understand theres also the "complete item" appeal vs. buying a component then another item and backtracking

TLDR completing Abyssal Mask is a very 'offensive' purchase (while Negatron Cloak is a defensive one), but Morellonomicon is a much better offensive buy for Ahri esp. considering Abyssal Mask's scaling component making it less effective as a first item.

Also thoughts on running one or maybe two MR Quints vs. things like LeBlanc and Syndra, generally theyre too strong early to get in favorable trades, so the 5-10 AP doesnt even matter, and theres a high chance Ahri will get cheesed pre-6, making 4-8 Flat MR very valuable. They stand out more than other Abyssal Mask ( Negatron Cloak) rush lanes since theyll often try to kill you before your first back (pre 4?), so with this you can at least farm with a little more breathing room since general trading isnt in Ahri's favor

A good suggestion and point, but I don't think you are taking absolutely everything into consideration with the comparison between Abyssal and Negatron + Morello. I will explain!

So basically, regardless of which item you complete first, the initial purchase is going to be Negatron Cloak in both cases. This essentially reduces the cost of Abyssal by the cost of the Negatron (720) since the Negatron is a must. If the comparison was soley now down to a completed Abyssal or a Negatron Cloak + Morello, then yes Morello would be the clear winner. This is not the case though because of the fact that the Negatron being part of the Abyssal means you can spend that gold on extra items on top of the completed Abyssal, making the comparison between option A (Abyssal) vs option B (Negatron + Morello) arguably more favourable for the Abyssal route when against AP Burst. I'll give a few examples to show what I mean and better explain it.

The cost of Abyssal comes to 2750. The cost of Negatron + Morello comes to 3620. This means that with the Abyssal rush, you get to spend an extra 870 gold on something else to bring the cost value on par with option B. This can get you either a Blasting Wand or a Fiendish Codex pretty much, which then completely changes the comparison. Now that I've explained how cost value comes into the equation, I'll give the examples of how the 2 routes play out with either option A, or B.

Since there is only 1 choice for the Morello idea, I'll start with that. Negatron Cloak + Morellonomicon grants you: 40 MR, 100 AP, 400 Mana, 20% CDR and the 2 Passives.

Then there are 2 main options with the Abyssal, firstly an added Blasting Wand which overall would grant you: 60 MR, 100 AP, 10% CDR and the Abyssal Passive.

Secondly, with an added Codex, the stats are: 60 MR, 90 AP 20% CDR, Passive.

Now you can see the exact comparison between the 2 options of either Abyssal + something, or Negatron + Morello. For the stats, it's either a difference of 10 AP, or 10% CDR in favour of Morello, with 400 Mana from Morello, but 20 more MR from Abyssal. The Abyssal passive is also a lot more effective, especially when considering that most, if not all AP Burst champs have no healing. From the nature of the matchup alone, it makes the 20 extra MR a lot better than some mana and a tiny but of AP, or 10% CDR. If it were a general non bursty AP, then I would probably be more favoured towards Negatron + Morello, but simply because of how crucial MR is in AP Burst matchups, Abyssal still takes it for me.

Overall however, it is a close comparison and there would be nothing wrong with going Negatron into Morello at all!

As for the MR Quints. I think that is indeed a solid idea because like you say, 5-10 AP is nothing, and it's all about surviving the early game with Ahri!

I completely forgot morellos was made more expensive (took a ~2 month break for school, last time I played it was 600 g cheaper) and I overlooked the 1000 gold sink difference between abyssal v neg + morellos and the fact that the extra gold can go to another item (I think even if i were familiar with the cost i wouldve had the same question!)
Thanks as always for the in depth explanation and comparisons!
